The location of this hotel is not very good, on the edge of the city, but the service is very good, it is an inn opened by two brothers, I don't know why the online rating is so high, to be honest, I am a little disappointed. The room given was in Room 6 on the 3rd floor. There was no air conditioning and it was so hot. There was a mini fan in the whole room or it was very noisy. It was the kind of fan we disliked in the 1970s and 1980s. The only highlight of this hotel is that there is a back garden, breakfast can be very cool in the garden, but swarms of bees will come and grab jam. Be sure to lock the room door when you sleep, otherwise it will be opened by others. Later, I went around in the back garden and found that room 4 was air-conditioned, but our room was not. The last Tumuji room is an exhibition hall, not their hotel! The pictures hanging on Trip.com by their hotel are suspected of misleading consumers. It is recommended that Trip.com delete the pictures on their homepage after inspection.

A very unforgettable stay experience. This is a hotel run by an old German couple at the gate of Rothenburg. The decoration of the hotel is full of warm German style. The old man is very enthusiastic and he keeps chatting with us. The accommodation is very warm and comfortable. It is not the tourist season. He specially prepared new bedding for our arrival. The room was clean and tidy. He reminded us that it is best to have breakfast after 8 o'clock the next day. The restaurant is warm and comfortable, with many of his personal collections and paintings, and the breakfast is very rich and delicious. The summer peak season is said to be full. Worth staying at a hotel, parking, and transportation are all convenient. Go through the gate and you will reach the castle.

Great location just by the Roman wall. Really easy check in. Room was clean and comfortable with plenty of space. We really enjoyed the breakfast which was a continental style but they offered eggs as well. Definitely a good choice to explore the wonderful town of Rothenberg.

Arrived via train from Wurzburg around 10.45am and was allowed to check in by a kind plump lady, room 206. Avoid this room in the summer as its directly above the night entrance of the hotel. No problem in the winter, lucky us! Room was smaller than it seems (22sqm), twin beds so close to each other, safe, small minibar, fan, TV, bathroom with a tub. When booking, breakfasts was 16.50 euros each, cheaper than 18.50 during check in. We are not breakfasts people, so avoided. Common areas are nice, modern with an elevator. Facade was made to look like half timber but it seems to be purpose built, concrete building. Why we rated it 3 stars was because of a lack of a kettle for the cold winter. They offered a thermos flask instead but its a chore to go down to the Restaurant every-time the thermos is empty! When asked about the bus for Dinkelsbuhl, the same plump lady spent 3-4 mins to check on her computer then told me to check by myself …so much for a 4 stars hotel! We found a 8.29am bus but waited 20 mins in vain! So took a taxi to Dinkelsbuhl for 100 euros instead! See my review for 3 stars Hotel Piazza in Dinkelsbuhl. The greatest asset of this hotel has to be its location, probably the closet hotel within the walls to the train station, 10 mins walk with no luggage. Add 2-3 mins more if with luggage. Overall, our 3 nights at this hotel was fine but we had expected more for the price we paid for a 4 stars hotel.

Stayed two nights in May. Parked around the corner and asked at reception where to park and the hotel has a small gated car park just opposite the hotel. Found a space and checked in. Room was on the second floor right at the front of the hotel and overlooking the street with nice window boxes on the window sills. Room was small but comfortable and bathroom again on the small side but spotlessly clean. The breakfast buffet was excellent and eggs cooked to order if you asked. The hotel is located just inside one of the gates in the old city wall and a five minute walk to the town centre. The hotel front door is locked after nine pm but access for guests is via a side door opened by the room key so no problem. Would definitely recommend this hotel.
