We didn’t have the best of starts when we arrived - the lifts are very run down and as we got to our room the air con wasn’t working nor our fridge. We looked out of our balcony onto the pool and it was filthy. We did think oh no what have we done. HOWEVER reception immediately sorted out the air con & fridge. The pool was cleaned all but 2 days we were there and was never as bad as the day we arrived. Pool area is very slippy - wear beach shoes! You can’t put your parasol up on windy days & there’s not too many areas with shade. Music around the main pool but not too loud. Pool is 1.2m - doesn’t have a deep end so no diving. Lifeguard on duty daily 10-5. Absolutely cannot fault the entertainment team. They are so enthusiastic and there’s something to do all day but they don’t pressure you into joining - but do, it’s great fun! My son loved the kids club. We only went to the evening entertainment a couple times but enjoyed what we saw. The hotel is very clean, room was spotless, constantly cleaning in restaurant. Food hygiene was good - except for other guests cross contaminating, some people have no respect for those with allergies!! Breakfast & dinner there was lots to choose from, I’m a fussy vegetarian & only 1/11 nights did I have to resort to eating pizza and chips. My husband said the meat was always overcooked sadly. The snack bar had no variety & very little for vegetarians. Crepes served 4-6 which are yummy! There is air con in the restaurant - read so many reviews which said there isn’t. I don’t think it works as well in the room off to the left, but fine if you eat in the room where the buffet is. Cocktail machine wasn’t working most of the time we were there which I was disappointed with. Soft drinks & spirits are nice. Beer on tap. Take your own cups as they’re small. Rooms are on the small side compared to most AI hotels I’ve stayed in but the beds are comfy. Plenty of hangers & sockets including USB. The doors to the rooms are in a bad state of repair & you can hear everything and so many guests slam their doors shut at all times of day & night! The sunbed situation isn’t half as bad as some make out. If you want your spot then yes u will have to get up at 730/8 but we didn’t do this and always got 3 beds together in full view of the pool where we could watch our son. Accessibility is an issue. There can be a fair wait for lifts at busy times. There are steps all around the pool. (Lots of different levels for sunbeds) I use a walking stick & I was ok but if in a wheelchair I’d find somewhere else. Would recommend going premium - kettle, safe & fridge in room as well as a bottle of Prosecco & biscuits on arrival. 2 water bottles per day (there is free water throughout hotel though). Robes & slippers. Turn down service & a quick tidy up at night. Best part is you get to use the infinity area and the solarium (both 18+) Now I wasn’t that impressed with the infinity pool but the solarium is a little piece of oasis with real

Hotel really good and not bad location. No real nightlife but we knew that when booking. Staff couldn’t do enough for you. Entertainment was ok not great. Best part was the food! OMG so much choice! Downstairs pool was a good find, warm pool with jacuzzi. Loads of sun beds as well. No getting up early to secure as we could always get some! Highly recommend this hotel

This hotel is excellent we loved every part of it. Stayed in room 620 ideal for reception/pool (level 7) and restaurant (level five) the hotel is spotless the staff are excellent and the sound of the sea each evening is soothing. Tips The hotel is a bit of a distance to the main town it’s very hilly and we only went down once you can walk a kind of cliff path but it’s full of stairs which after a while kills you and gets very tedious. Go out of the hotel walk to the top road go right and you will see a walkway with steps follow them down (they are called the Agatha Christie steps as there is a statue as she had a house there each step has a book title on them) just keep following the road down to the sea front loads of shops and restaurants plus the lido ( which is due to open soon) you can either walk back or get a taxi (4/5 euros) we didn’t bother going again as the Main Street above the hotel had many bar’s restaurants and shops very reasonable priced excellent service not much of a party time if you like that kind of thing down town will be better for you. Food Breakfast is amazing plenty of choice and easy to get through Evening meal got board quickly so used only a couple of times drinks expensive and didn’t approve they charged for water you pay for drinks on the way out or you can charge money to your room and top up when it runs out we preferred to pay as we go drinks wise we preferred to eat out and give to local family business etc. The pool The rule is no personal towels you need to hire them from reception ten euros (refundable with receipt) to change for fresh one one euro exchange but we found we could use both our own and the hotels the reason they like you to use them to show that you are staying there and haven’t sneaked in. The bar is good very professional service. The room Lovely views over the sea the bathroom has been the best I have ever had abroad lives the multi shower lights and the screen window trick great fun to play with tv is crap so we always take a fire stick power lead and remote control Wi-Fi is very good the codes allow two devices per ticket but you can have as many as you like we had three tablets two phones and a fire stick don’t forget to put in the code for your fire stick to make it work you might not get every thing you get at home but it’s better than the tv without it We booked with jet2 excellent transfers etc the excursions we booked was the body trip up the side of the island we managed to see whales and dolphins I do warn it will be a long day 11.45 we left and didn’t get back until eight pm if you don’t like rough conditions sea wise this trip might not be for you as four plus hours on a boat feeling sea sick isn’t much fun there is chance to swim off the boat the food was a bit naff not to everyone’s taste take a jumper it can start to get cold. This was our third stay at Hotel Botanico, and we felt like we were returning 'home' after a gap of 2 years because of Covid. This is such a beautiful hotel, in a stunning, peaceful garden setting. The rooms are excellent, the staff are so friendly and helpful. Beautiful swimming pools and amazing spa facilities. There are lots of restaurants and bistros very close by, as well as the hotel's own restaurants, and a shuttle bus leaves for the main port just a 10 minute ride, which is full of restaurants, bars and shops etc. Jet 2 holidays were efficient, helpful, and all the arrangements worked.

We had a very pleasant week at La Carabela Hotel at the beginning of April. The breakfast buffet was surprisingly diverse; we especially valued all the fruit and veggies, i.g. oven-baked apples, fried bananas, aubergines and courgette, salad leaves and the sweet cakes. The cleaning of the rooms and making the beds were very excellent and took place often enough, so it was lovely to return in the evenings to a well-cleaned room (there might be a need to clean under the bed say once a week though). Although the open-air pool was not in use, we enjoyed swimming a few times in the covered pool, which is of course very handy should it rain. The view from our balcony towards Teide was breathtaking both during the day time and at night. The view from the roof terrace of the hotel was also very impressive and that area would be worth using more. Although there was a need for some repair work here and there (locks on the balcony and bathroom doors, shower handle), the overall feeling in the hotel was tidy and pleasant. The adjacent building was being renovated, but the construction noise did not bother us at all. The area where the hotel is located is nicely peaceful, but yet at a very short walking distance from a variety of shops and restaurants. Also we got a nice amount of exercise when walking down to the lower part of the town, to the beach and Lago Martianez, and then back up to the hotel.

Here's a full review following a 7 night stay. Lots of positives but also a few negatives. Positives first: fantastic location as the hotel is right at the end of the promenade and lido. A 20 minute walk takes you to the original port area and great fish restaurants. There's a supermarket just behind the hotel for anything you may need. Rooms are a reasonable size, clean but a little dated ( I was in a privilege room, then privilege junior suite - moved due to noisey neighbours, then a poolside family room for a late checkout). Air conditioning in each room but it's location in the room could mean you wouldn't get the benefit if in the family room. Staff worked long days and very hard. Particular thanks to Miranda (customer relations). Pool area ok but again dated and sometimes in need of a clean due to vegetation. Negatives. Not enough staff at the bar leading to waits. Food was good at the poolside bar but wasn't so good at breakfast, lunch and evening in the buffet restaurant. Food not to our taste meaning eating out every night. This turned out a positive as there are some great tapas / fish restaurants around the port side streets. Eating/ drinking out very reasonably priced. I would rate the hotel 3.5 stars

My husband and I visited the Sol Costa Atlantis Hotel for a week in April 2024. We were very much looking forward to our stay at this particular hotel as having viewed it online, we thought it looked rather nice. Our arrival at the hotel was quite late due to having experienced a flight delay therefore, we were feeling quite tired, however, we found that the reception staff were not very welcoming or friendly, they just went through the process of getting us checked in, there was no ‘Welcome to our hotel, have you stayed with us before’, nothing of that nature, no welcome drink was offered. Once checked in, we went to our room which considering it was a 4* hotel, we were surprised at how basic the room was. We unpacked and tried to open the Safe to store our valuables. We were unable to open it so being tired, we decided to deal with everything the following morning. We were booked on a half board basis so, we got up the next morning to go for breakfast and both said how incredibly warm the room was and, because of the room temperature neither of us had slept well. We checked the air conditioning but were unable to deal with whatever the issue was. We then went for breakfast which, unfortunately, wasn’t great. We absolutely appreciate that with buffet food, due to it sitting, it can get cold quickly but, having said that, there were a lot of people staying at the hotel if the dining room was anything to go by which meant that the turnover of food from the buffet was quick so, I wouldn’t have expected the food to be as as cold as it was. Also, the toasters which were in the dining room, there just wasn’t enough of them and then, to make matters worse, when you put a slice of bread through the toaster you had to repeat the process 2 to 3 times as the bread wasn’t toasting!! Then we had the coffee machines of which you had to queue for a considerable length of time to get a coffee as again, for the amount of people, there weren’t enough coffee machines. After breakfast we went to reception to report the air conditioning issue. The chap with whom we spoke said he would get a maintenance person to fix whatever the issue was. We informed him we were out for the day so the technician could go into our room at any stage. We also asked about the Safe in our room to which the chap on reception advised that we would have to pay to use the safe. I was appalled to hear this saying to him ‘That’s daft, surely if there’s a safe in the room, it forms part of the room, it’s a bit like saying, there’s a wardrobe but you can’t hang your clothes in it until you pay to use it’. My view is if you’ve paid for a room, then you should have access to everything in that room especially the safe as it doesn’t cost the hotel any extra to allow guests access to the safe in their room!! After our day out, we came back to our room only to find that the air conditioning hadn’t been fixed much to our disappoin**ent and to make matters worse, when we reported it
