Very good value hotel, the room is large, the facilities are very good, very lucky, we are assigned to the G floor room. Breakfast is also good, there are various grades from 8.89-13.89 fat people according to their favorite point. Parking is also free, the hotel has an oversized BAR, and all in the afternoon are people. Not far from the town center, you can walk.

Wonderful setting, absolutely phenomenal food and great choices of alcoholic drinks. Will definitely be back to this establishment. Sitting on the Loch yesterday with a beer and wine looking at what a beautiful spot it really is.

Had a very pleasant stay , thank you to the front desk for arranging our preferred room type with ease. Pleasant clean room with a bath tub and a quiet area to get a good sleep. We didn't have breakfast included but purchased at the hotel , the full Scottish breakfast was fantastic and very tasty . The location is perfect , there is a bus stop outside that can take you to various points of loch lomond and the buses take contact less too.

You may think you've fallen into a time warp arriving at the Abbotsford hotel, the outside looks like a 50s motel, and the room decor is very dated and rough around the edges with scratches, bumps and marks on walls and furniture. The tea and coffee facilities were good, and the Tunnocks tea cake and caramel bars a nice touch. As a family of 5 it's rare to find a hotel that accommodates us well, and we were able to have an interconnecting room with bunk beds, plus a single in with a double in the main room. The doors open by a key from the outside, but didn't have a locking mechanism from the inside, which made me a little uneasy for my younger children, so I blocked their door with a suitcase to prevent them being able to leave the room. The room was a decent size, had good facilities, and I wouldn't have any issue staying a few days given the size of the room. The breakfast really was the highlight of the stay. We booked directly though the hotels own website and booked a room with breakfast included. The cereal selection was relatively limited, but the hot breakfast selection was excellent. My children all had pancakes, which were delicious and fluffy. They could choose a selection of toppings and were very happy. My husband paid the £3 supplement to upgrade to the large breakfast and all the components were tasty. I had the savoury French toast with bacon, and although they didn't have any maple syrup the waitress did bring me some golden syrup for with them. So although the hotel was a little rough around the edges, we enjoyed our stay and it was perfectly located to visit Hill House.

GGuest UserIt was supposed to be a highlight of Scottish dining. We were seated about a metre away from the bar and it was like the M6; noisy and crowded. The meals were tolerable. I couldn’t say they were great but they were ok….which is pretty much what they aspired to. We had an entree of chicken and pistachio terrine. It was quite delicious but came with 2 small slices of garlic bruschetta.My husband had the beef and had to ask for English mustard. He was presented with pretty much half the bottle. I had the lamb shoulder which was ‘slow cooked’ which seemed to be an hour because it was grissley and the skin fat undercooked. We finished with dessert, a tepid ‘hot choclate tart’ and a rhubarb crumble (with whisky anglaise ), which had no oats. Afterall we are in iconic Scotland. Service was excellent; polite and attentive staff. It was a pity the Hotel itself didn’t deliver to the same standard; attention to detail and a high standard of food.
