The better place to compare the general facilities is that it is more convenient to travel in the city centre. It is also very convenient to get off the train station. The hotel is very poor. If you are unfortunate, your window is next to the street. There is a bar downstairs every night. Shouting
Close to shopping mall, there is a very nice Chinese restaurant opposite. I will choose this one next time. The first floor that likes to drink is the bar.
Pros: The room is clean and cleaned up in a timely manner. The breakfast is good, and the steak in the restaurant on the first floor can be slightly expensive.
Cons: No elevator.
However, there are few old hotels in the UK with elevators.

Had a very pleasant time staying here. The hotel is positioned within the walled grounds of Canterbury Cathedral. Views from the room were spectacular as it overlooked the Cathedral. The staff are warm and friendly and were very accommodating, always smiling and helpful. The room was very clean and modern and was equipped with everything we needed. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom clean and fresh with fluffy towels. Breakfast was also good and the was waitress service. Overall we would recommend this lovely hotel not only for the perfect location to be able to walk into the city centre and for a tour of the Cathedral but also because it is so quiet at night. We always sleep with our window slightly open and because they close the gates at night around the walked grounds we had 2 perfectly quiet night’s sleep. Couldn’t be better and we will return in the future to this hotel without any hesitation.
The location of this accommodation is perfect. Just 10-15 minutes walk from Canterbury West Train Station. There is a Sainsbury's local at the corner and the main street is just 2 minutes walk. The host is very nice and friendly. The room is clean, bed sheet and duvet smell good. For amenities, there are only hand wash and body wash, you have to bring your own stuffs. It's a good experience to stay in this accomodation.
Went in for the Pub Quiz on Sunday. Lovely atmosphere and good afternoon's entertainment. Bar selection was a bit limited and steep in price. Only a larger on draft, no ales on tap although the bottles were from local breweries, no soft drinks on tap only bottles so expensive for the little capacity. Food choices very limited only a couple of choices of crisps. Selection of gin was very good, and very much enjoyed! Will we be back to support the quiz? Of course but could not afford every week.
The hotel is in a small town, and it is very close to the town on foot.....The lower level is a bar and restaurant, but it is quiet, with a small river in front, the rooms are European and clean, and you can see the cathedral.... .The breakfast is very rich, I chose a full English breakfast...
First things first - it is now called the Thanington Hotel. Parking is limited - once you enter there is no room to turn round if it is full and getting in and out of spaces is tricky. We parked on the back roads opposite the hotel for most of our stay. 15 minutes walk to the main shops and cathedral with a few decent pubs on the way. We were in room 9, decent size room with plenty of storage space. It was a bit tight between the bed and the wall. Good bathroom with powerful shower. We had air-con in our room but we couldn’t keep it on as it dripped tons of condensation onto the floor - we half-filled the waste paper bin. We enjoyed the hot and cold buffet breakfast with the occasional wait while they topped up the servers. We tried the bar one evening but there was not much choice and the night manager didn’t have much of a clue on portion sizes. We loved the inner courtyard for a relaxed rest. We’d definitely use again if we were in the area.
The appearance of this homestay has forgotten to take pictures. It should be found in other commenters. This homestay is very close to Canterbury West Station. We have two oversized boxes, so we took a taxi to the hotel after leaving the station. 3-4 minutes paid 6.6 pounds 😄.
The homestay is very good, the decoration is relatively new, the house is bright, and it is very clean. There are several staff and the service is better. We set a large room with breakfast. After we arrived, we were assigned a twin room with a large independent bathroom. The bed was about 1 meter wide, not wide, but the UK was like this. One thing worth mentioning: the time of the hotel check in here is generally after 3 pm, the time of check out is 10:30 the next morning, but we arrived at noon, went to the hotel early, the staff was also very enthusiastic to help us free the room, Still more humane. A very good stay experience, it is worth recommending to everyone.

St Augustine's Abbey
老老良漫游教堂建筑Tickets are required, £6. Although it is ruins. However, what wealth was left after the baptism of time, which was once a great project? When visiting the museum, there will be new discoveries. This monastery, known as the World Heritage Site, is well worth wandering around. This is one of the most important monasteries in medieval England, with charming architecture, majestic memorials and a charming atmosphere. Visiting this place is to find and spiritual cultivation, giving us the opportunity to touch the spiritual birthplace of the English world. St. Augustine's monastery developed into a great Romanesque monastery, one of the most magnificent and influential monasteries in Europe. But this power and influence did not last. During the reign of Henry VIII, the great monastery was destroyed. Walking through the ruins and breathing the ancient atmosphere can temporarily keep us away from the hustle and bustle of the city.
Dane John Gardens
Ccoo***anDane John Gardens The garden is really a great feeling ~ Suitable for early morning, the water lilies in the pond are a lot of dew, very beautiful, many people take SLRs to shoot, popular! There are also lounge chairs, very leisurely and very comfortable, great feeling ~
Westgate Towers Museum & Viewpoint
3358***33The West Gate Tower is a tower at the west gate of the ancient city wall of Canterbury. The ancient city wall of Canterbury is well preserved, there is a long section, pedestrians can walk on it, but the city gate is probably only the West Gate. Walking on the city wall can feel the vicissitudes of history.
