There seemed to be plenty of little things not quite right with this place - all of which added up to make an experience that was most certainly not 5*. It started the day before we arrived. I called up to book a table for dinner. It turned out to be unnecessary as the place was very empty. An hour after this I got a phone call from the hotel to do with golf bookings. I had no intention of playing golf so was confused by this. We arrived before our check in time but were told our room was ready. We dropped our bags and went straight to the spa. The spa was a little tired. The seats in the changing rooms were worn, and lots of standing water around the pool. Obviously this happens around a pool but there were certain places where it was clearly a permanent feature. After an afternoon in the spa we wanted a drink. The spa is co-located with the golf club so I assumed there would be a clubhouse or similar. Nothing was open, and over two days we didn't see a single golfer. We went back to the mansion house for a drink. There is no bar - just a 'hatch' in one of the very grand drawing rooms with waiter service. The draft beer was not on, and the waiter had to ask three times to check my wife's order. There was no bar atmosphere at all as we were the only people in there. We went back to the room to rest and change. Our room was stiflingly hot and the controls for the air conditioning were broken. This is clearly not a new issue as there was a plug in radiator and fan in the room. The room was large and well furnished, just a bit dated. The hairdryer was of the quality you would expect in a Premier Inn and while there were some products in the bathroom there was no conditioner. We took advantage of the concierge car service back to Adam's Brasserie for dinner, and had a really good meal. We both had scallops and shared the Chateaubriand which was delicious. The puddings were a bit ordinary, whether they had or not they looked as it they came out of a box. We ordered a bottle of dessert wine to accompany our pudding but it never arrived. We didn't chase it as we were halfway through our pudding and thought we'd return to the 'bar' for a drink. We were a little surprised to see a large service charge added on to our bill. The service had been fine, but not worthy of such a tip, especially given the forgotten wine. Limoncello was an ingredient in many of the cocktails we'd seen when we had a drink earlier. My wife decided she wanted one, and I was going to have a whiskey. My first choice of whiskey from the menu was not available. Then I asked for a limoncello, which could not be found. At which point I gave up and went to bed. We slept well, and breakfast was quite good. I'm not sure I expected a buffet at a five star hotel, and the juices came out of a long life carton and were not freshly squeezed. I was surprised again to receive an email after I'd got home, cancelling my dinner reservation. Lots of little things that suggest the 5* rated isn

So completely ruined our trip..the extractor fan needs to be replaced because it's so loud that I'm surprised anyone in a 50 mile radius can sleep..let alone us.

The bed is placed between a pillar and the window sill. The bed cannot be dropped from the left or right. It can only be dropped from one side, which is very inconvenient! The photo is not like this, I feel like I have been deceived🥹
There was no refill shower gel in the bathroom, so I had to step out in the middle of the shower and look for shower gel in my suitcase to complete the showering process😭😭
The bed is very soft and the quilt is relatively simple. I even found one or two short hairs on the bed🥲
The good thing is that the decoration of the hotel is relatively new👍🏼 and the service staff are quite polite.
Cozy hotel and friendly staff. Had some electricity issues in a room and was upgraded to a room with a bathtub, nice touch.

GGuest UserI recently stayed at the Holiday Inn Luton Airport and had a generally positive experience. The hotel’s location is incredibly convenient, especially for early morning flights, as it is just a short walk or shuttle ride from the terminal. The rooms were clean, modern, and well-maintained, with a particularly comfortable bed that ensured a good night’s sleep before an early flight. Additionally, the staff were welcoming and efficient, making check-in and check-out smooth and assisting with any queries.
The on-site restaurant offers a decent variety of meals, and the breakfast buffet was plentiful with a good range of options. Room service was prompt, and the food quality was satisfactory. The hotel also provides good amenities, including a fitness centre, free Wi-Fi, and business services, with ample parking for those driving in. However, being close to the airport does bring some inevitable noise from the planes. While the windows are soundproofed, light sleepers might still notice it.
While the convenience is a huge plus, the rates can be on the higher side compared to other nearby accommodations, so it's worth booking in advance to secure a better deal. The immediate area around the hotel is quite utilitarian, with few attractions or dining options outside the hotel itself. Nevertheless, the Holiday Inn Luton Airport is a solid choice for those prioritising convenience and comfort before or after a flight. The staff’s hospitality and the hotel’s amenities make it a pleasant stay despite some minor drawbacks.
GGuest UserI’ve stayed here so many nights over the last 11 years back from when it was first built and was the Ramada. As I stay so much I cannot fault the staff that I see in the day time, Arianna, Amy, Laura, and all the reception staff are lovely, very good at their jobs and are the only plus to this hotel. Standard of hotel outside the staff forget it. Tonight I’ve checked in, come to my room and they normally have single use plastic cups in the bathroom for some water overnight sealed in a foil, turns out tonight they have washed and reused old cups, I’m in an executive room where we used to get a bottle of water and a snack bar, nothing anymore. This was the only ihg hotel I knew of that didn’t offer spire or platinum members a snack with their welcome amenity for years, cheap skates, the whole hotel is run as cheap as possible. My conclusion is this hotel is run by profit hungry people who don’t care about service. As I say I stay here a lot and I really feel that some of the staff are great, they could do so much better than working in this hotel where the management just want to make quick money. An embarrassment to the ihg brand. I still have to stay here as it’s the local hotel to my work, but the management all need sacking and the whole thing starting again from the management up.
GGuest UserStayed at the hotel for the night before an early morning departure from Luton Airport. Parking and check in was a breeze and staff were readily available with great service. The room was a solid 5/5, clean, modern and even the bathroom was spotless. No signs of tiredness throughout the hotel, bedroom included. We used the restaurant, where there was ample choices but service was a little slow and a few mix ups with the order and bill, but all issues resolved and nothing to effect the review. Will definitely use this hotel for both personal and business use.
GGuest UserThe room is impeccably clean and welcoming, providing a pleasant atmosphere for relaxation. Its location couldn’t be more ideal, just a short walk away from the bustling bus and train stations, as well as a variety of shops and inviting restaurants. However, a noticeable downside is the lack of soundproofing; during my stay, I found myself disturbed by the muffled sounds of snoring and occasional arguments from the neighboring room, which significantly impacted the tranquility I had hoped for.
Stayed for 1 night and booked the Park and Fly option, which encompassed the hotel stay and the 4 nights parking. £200.00 for the stay and parking, which wasn't cheap - however, given the cost of the other local hotels and the airport parking in general, it served as a good option for us. The lady on reception was polite, friendly and helpful, which sadly isn't always a given at airport hotels. The room itself was spotless and we had a good night's sleep. The parking looked pretty safe, barriers and with a fair bit of CCTV. The nearer side of the carpark is well lit too, and it's by the main road so plenty of people are coming and going. There is a bus stop right outside the hotel, which costs around £2.00 straight to the airport entrance (5 minute drive), bus A is the one you need. You can also take the Dart train which is behind the station.
LLouisLate to the hotel due to the flight delay and delay from Gdansk, anyway, hotel room is great and available for late check out with £10/hr, reasonable, and have a good sleep.Anyway, you may call a taxi to go to the hotel, a but inconvenient that you know Luton airport is really inconvenient.
GGuest UserThe hotel is very basic but you get what you pay for as it’s cheap. Fine if you just want to sleep and get to the airport as it’s near the station. Good bus/train links to the airport. Hari behind the reception desk was very nice and helpful though.
This is a lovely hotel. They are self check in. However we could call them if we need anything. We needed a hair dryer and iron they talked us to where it was. Would have been nice to have breakfast. There are bad reviews but its a shame because we found everything was clean and the staff were on the phone or message whenever we needed them
