Lovely small hotel in a great location in Lucca. We picked Lucca as a visit spot bc there was a Marriott there (we were traveling on points) and BOY are we glad we did. Not only was the hotel great but we just fell in love with the town itself. But the hotel...modern and bright with a lively staff, it served as a wonderful refreshing spot for us to use as we explored Lucca. The rooms were quite small. But they were clean and modern and had everything we would need to be comfortable. Breakfast offered either a small buffet or menu service with healthy bountiful options. Prices were delightfully low at the hotel restaurant. Don't miss the opportunity to borrow bikes from the hotel to ride around the top of the wall. It was a highlight of our whole trip. Seeing Lucca from ”above” while in the shade and among Lucca's locals with their children, dogs or families, enjoying their circular circumferential park. Note that bikes are only offered until 6pm which is when the heat finally breaks and you WANT to go back outside (that was a bummer).

What a lovely hotel this is, in a relatively quiet location within the city walls, yet only a short distance away from the centre. We received a warm welcome and were escorted to our room at the top of the building. Here we had delightful views over the rooftops of Lucca. The room itself was immaculately clean, sharply decorated and very comfortable. Breakfasts, too, were excellent, served (weather permitting) in the small courtyard at the front of the hotel, by cheerful, helpful staff. Should we return to Lucca we would most definitely choose Palazzo Dipinto again.

The position was perfect just inside the wall so easy to get to and then we were able to walk everywhere.. it rained the entire time for us but we will be back as loved it all the same

Just completed a three-night stay at The Tuscanian. First visit to Lucca - a delightful place. Hotel staff were warm, friendly, accommodating, and helpful for navigating the area. Rooms were extremely comfortable. Nice breakfasts. The restaurant (Antica Osteria) - attached but separate ownership - is also elegant, tasty, and reasonable. Lucca was a find! Hope to return. Less bustling and crowded than Florence and with its own unique charm. The Tuscanian stay made it memorable and wonderful.

Hot room // a/c weak and they didn’t seem to care. We stayed at this hotel about a decade ago. It was awesome - clean, fitness center, free parking, great location and good food. Unfortunately, it has NOT aged well. We were given a room that was very hot. The a/c was weak and the hotel made a habit of turning off the entire system with enough regularity that our room was uncomfortably warm. As a result, we did not sleep well any of our nights there. Worse yet, the front desk staff was defensive and unsympathetic in reaction. They accused us of not bringing it up when we had called and stopped by the desk over 8 times in 2 days — and had just spoken to the same guy!!! Another guest also mentioned their room was hot too, so it’s not just us!!! The design in the room also gave you the choice of covering the weak a/c unit with the curtains (and having some shading but even weaker a/c) or the opposite. There was just no winning there!! The breakfast felt more “best western” mediocre than a 4+ star hotel in a great Tuscan town and the fitness center and spa were closed. If you want a comfortable stay in Lucca, look elsewhere.

What a lovely little place. Unassuming and comfortable, right in the centre. We stayed in a family room: two rooms, with a bathroom in between, ideal for our needs. Breakfast was excellent and we enjoyed it on the peaceful courtyard at the front. Pricey perhaps, but not comparatively given location and time of year (also during the summer festival with concerts going on). An excellent stay.

For breakfast, included in the booking, on request they made us find gluten-free products for a chelyaic person (all fresh and very good!). Very good and quite varies the normal breakfast! Rrvpfdzrbv48Loved this property. Couldn’t ask for better with the location. We walked to everything. Lucca is not huge but it was good to be in a spot that was fairly quiet at night. We were there for 4 nights that went over a weekend. There was a bar at the end of the street where a LOT of people gathered and there was noise from there but the minute the window was closed you could not really hear them. It was hot weather but the room was cool even with the windows shut so all good. There are restaurants and cafes close by and it is a short walk to the Piazza Anfiteatro where you are spoilt for dining options. Our room, Flora, was big. The bed was very comfortable, water was hot, WiFi was good and there is a fridge. The establishment itself is quiet. We couldn’t hear other guests at all. The included breakfast is very good. Plenty to choose from and should suit everyone. It set us up for the day. The only thing we would have liked was having access to make a cup of tea outside of breakfast hours. Not a complaint but it would have been nice. We didn’t have a car so I can’t comment on the parking area but it was an easy taxi ride from Lucca station. The hosts were amazing. Very helpful and friendly.we would definitely recommend a stay here.

GGuest UserIn this living room I tried two out of three rooms: very large, spacious, equipped with everything, including coffee machine, boiler, caramels and a pleasant appetizer kit with potatoes and analcohol drink. We enjoyed it in the small garden furnished with tables and chairs, and impressed by small lamps and wires of sunlights. Then, by name and fact, the common bathroom and the private bathroom were well cleaned, provided with dispenser with shampoo, bathroom and even balsam. At the entrance a filtered water boiler always available to fill glasses and But the real girl in this place is the courtesy of Cristian, who provided us with photos with indications to reach the structure, photos to walk in the centre, information useful to dine out or for events in Lucca. In other words, very organized and always available for guests' requests. Interesting and comfortable self-checking! Recommended!!!! One note (Light is out of the walls): watch taxis if you have the train early morning: they don't accept bookings and We found no one available for arrival at the station 40 minutes earlier.
