The hotel is very close to the Kyushu Shinkansen ”Building the boat cabin” station, about a quarter of an hour walk. When we arrived, it was dark. The next morning, we opened the window and the cool fresh air came out of the window. The clear Yabuchuan River was full of cherry blossom trees. Spring must be beautiful. The opposite bank is more than 300 years of eucalyptus trees. The hotel breakfast is traditional Japanese and delicious.

I stayed expecting the overall word of mouth was good and the meal was highly appreciated. It is the previous night for Yanagawa sightseeing the next day. It was check-in after the sunset, and I went to the Navi street of the car, but the appearance of the inn was dark and the parking lot was difficult to understand, and I made my eyes rough. The front staff man was calm, but he was very impressed with the simplicity and humorous guide. I was relieved that I was asked to check each guest's health for corona measures. The room is not large, but the view of the river and the park outside was fresh. It was a little disappointing that the toilet and washbasin were set. The dinner I expected was very delicious and I was very happy with the meal. The staff also cooked well at the timing and understood the explanation well. The rooftop public bath was also a small inn, and it was possible to use it as a wide 々 in the rental state. The scenery was good. I stayed at the GoTo campaign on the occasion, but it is a hotel that I would like to stay again at the original price. I would like to check in early next time and spend slowly.

There were three of us staying, so two of us were in bed and one was in the living room(?) on a futon, but this living room was even colder because there was no partition between the entrance and the hallway. I had to keep the bath open and keep the water running. It might have been a little better. The other thing was that the repairs and furniture looked too cheap. It would have been better if they had asked someone with more taste to do the interior! It's a shame. The food was neither good nor bad. I think it would have been better to have a hot pot or something in the winter. I think the spirit of preserving old things is wonderful, but if you're going to preserve them, you should either keep them in that state or renovate them so nicely that you'll be impressed. There's nothing more tasteless than renovating an old house with just a vague a**osphere.

The baths in the evening and late at night are nice. The small baths in business hotels are sad. Also, I'm happy that breakfast is free. I'll go again.

The proprietress is very enthusiastic, the house is very Japanese traditional family feeling, the first time I live in this, it is very novel, the tatami is also very comfortable, the introduction of Kurogawa Hot Spring is also a big push, the hot spring is very good, after the soaking, sleep in seconds. 😍😍 Convenient for self-driving tours, free parking spaces, and communication in Mandarin or Cantonese. I have a chance to live in Liuchuan again! !

I came to Kyushu at the end of the year and the beginning of the year and looked for a hotel near Fukuoka Tenjin to go to Dazaifu on New Year's Day, but I was here because it was expensive and Yanagawa was cheaper than Tenjin, and the train flight was good. １ night ８３００ yen was cheaper than the center of Fukuoka, and it was convenient for sightseeing within １ hours by train for the distance to go to Dazaifu the next day. It is a few minutes walk from the station to the hotel (the opposite direction to the shuttle bus stop down the boat). The room was also very good for the price.

We stopped overnight in Yanagawa on our road trip from Nagasaki to Fukuoka. As a recently new hotel we decided on New Gaea. Not that new really as it was just a makeover with the old facade still visible when you open the sliding windows to see the exisiting old walls. Check-in was OK BUT my complain (as I think others would too) is that there is no driveway or any place for our vehicle to stop in front of the hotel to drop our luggage or to check-in before heading to the carpark which was some 5-minutes walk away beyond the railroad crossing. So we had to borrow the opposite neighbor's driveway to unload/load our luggage. Hotel has no onsite carpark facility, except when we were at the lounge for drinks that we noticed a small parking area, probably for staff behind the building. There's a lift in the hotel, free welcome drinks in the evening with bubbly after 9pm till 11pm and the rooms were quiet. We were in a 3-bedder and pretty comfortable in size with our luggage opened. Good WiFi coverage, clean room with full amenities. In the morning after checking-out we left our luggage with the front desk to explore Yanagawa. Good location as the canal is just behind and follow either way one will reach the shrines and the castle moat. Train station is nearby on one end of the hotel and a mall with supermarket is within 10-minutes walking.
