Clean, decent wifi, good location for walking in Luang Prabang, the monks come by the street out front from 6-7am every day. The rooms are comfortable and clean and the staff is exceptional. Breakfast was plentiful. I will definitely stay here again.

A very memorable day because the epidemic situation rescheduled the flight ticket to stay overnight for one night. The service was not available. The husband forgot his cigarette in avani. The driver immediately went to fetch the room. The tip must be 5 yuan and 10 yuan. The only unsatisfactory preparation is that there is no free yoga class in the early morning. The top resorts should arrange free yoga classes at least twice a week, which I hope can be improved

My partner and I had a wonderful time at Amantaka in December this year. The whole city has just bounced back from the pandemic so I had a little expectation when coming to Luang Prabang this year. However, everything at the resort was exceptional, from the moment we were greeted at the airport, to when we were warmly greeted by the members of staff as we arrive at the moment, and when we left the resort. The property was converted from a historic building but was very well maintained. It has a classic and subtle charm and feels very cosy and intimate. Don't forget to use the Bath House that with a private pool, steamed room and sauna. Thank you Amantaka team for exceptional hospitality and I will be back again!

Hotel Location is perfect, is not far night market and close to restaurant. Hotel also have breakfast choice for you to choose ( 3 kind of Laos dishes ) if you book the room with breakfast. The cleanliness is okay for room but public area and corridor quite dirty, for the first stay I found many cockroaches in my rooms #C5, water flood in the toilets and shower room, air conditioner is very noisy. I already report to the receptionist in the morning before check out. And need them to improve it and I book this hotel for my 2 nd stay because of the location and expect them to fix all the issues that I was report. After I check in for my 2nd stay, B7 , The rooms is better than C5, condition is okay but again the air conditioner very noisy and not cool enough. they some maintenance for the air -con.

The location of the hotel is good. Although it is not very close to any place, it is not far away. It can be easily reached on foot and is relatively quiet. Breakfast is a set menu with two choices, rice noodles or french fries, a small plate of fruit, a small plate of lettuce, and a cup of coffee or tea. The rice noodles I ate for six days were pretty good. Hotel supplies are relatively simple, hair dryers, toothbrushes, toothbrushes, combs, shower caps are not available.

Spacious rooms with very comfortable beds and nice bathrooms The breakfast options are wonderful and provide energy to start your day. All the staff are super friendly and helpful. I would totally recommend this place for a few nights in Luang Prabang as it's close to all the attractions, especially with the night markets around the corner. Owners were super accommodating and helped with transport and luggage.

Where is management? I honestly don’t know what’s going on with this hotel. I understand that the hotel industry is still recovering from severe losses during the pandemic but I think not replying to numerous emails I sent arranging for airport transfer and tours is a big no no. It doesn’t cost anything to reply. I really wanted to bring my family here because it used to be one of my absolute favorite hotels in the world. I checked that there are recent good reviews. Sadly, it was a big disappointment. This was my second stay at this property and I used to say it was even better than Belmond and Amantakq, but sadly, as a TA, I can’t even recommend it anymore. There was no warm welcome upon arriving. It felt like a *******, abandoned hotel. They couldn’t even find our booking when they themselves already confirmed it via email. Last time, they even upgraded us. This time, no upgrade even though rooms were available. They couldn’t even put us near the main building as a return guest benefit, to think we have a baby with us. I promised my child a tub, but turns out only the upgraded rooms have a tub. Also no turn down gifts like before. They don’t even bother to open the shutters so your room is dark 24/7. What’s up with that? Some rooms don’t even have wifi due to a line being repaired. You have to ask them repeatedly for every single little thing. Mosquitoes inside the room. Room is not clean enough. The sofa has a musty smell. There are also stains everywhere, including the towels. Paint peeling everywhere, even in the shower area. They didn’t even refill the complimentary tea and coffee and there was a rotten apple in the welcome amenity. It also really feels like they gave us used slippers. This used to be such a great hotel. What happened? The hotel and grounds are dirty. They only bother to clean chairs and tables if you’re using them. We asked to see the Explorator Suite we stayed at before and it felt like it was missing a ton of furniture. It just looked large and empty, but nothing wow like before. It used to be sooooo nice! Overall, this property is feeling very dingy and tired and there are many other better options in Luang Prabang these days. It’s definitely not luxury and definitely not well-maintained. Really such a shame. I feel bad for writing this review, but somebody needs to do something about it. The two stars in this review is for the courteous and kind staff such as La from F&B who do look like they are trying their best. But where is the GM? This hotel is severely lacking in direction. It’s like management gave up already.

A true museum of a hotel! It combines comfort with refinement. Big, light and airy bedrooms tastefully appointed, charming and helpful staff. Its location offers good views on the Nam Khan river and its annex on the opposite bank is equally charming. Owner Ivan Scholte produces some wonderful wines and tips for off-track excursions. It is close to temples, shops and other entertainment without compromising its quiet and peaceful atmosphere. My family and I spent an idyllic week there. Not to be missed: Laos Buffalo Dairy and the Living Land ricefield trip (where you get to go through all the stages of cultivating rice, down to eating it!)

My wife and I stayed at Villa Oasis in March, during Pi Mai (Lao New Year). We stayed twice, for a total of almost two weeks. We loved it. The villa complex is built alongside a swampy little lagoon (with no mosquitos, surprisingly), just a 10 minute walk from Phousi Hill, Sisavangvong Street, and the Luang Prabang Night Market. We chose it because Villa Oasis (and nearby Villa Mahasok) are two of the only mid-range hotels near the Old Quarter that have pools. As it happened, Luang Prabang experienced a heat wave in March 2023, so we were exceptionally glad we had the pool to cool off in. The villa is very close to a supermarket, there are many cheap restaurants close by, and you are only a 10 minute walk from the tourist night market, with lots of eating and drinking options. Two Little Birds cafe is only 5 minutes walk and has fantastic smoothie bowls. The rooms were comfortable, with traditional wood decor and small balconies. Breakfast in the open air restaurant was predictable but good. The villa offers free bicycles, which is handy if you want to get to the main restaurant and bar area of the Old Quarter, on the mid section of Sisavangvong Street, or to the restaurants along the Mekhong riverbank. Easily the best thing about Villa Oasis was its staff, who couldn't have been nicer or more helpful. They were absolutely lovely and would do everything possible to make your stay more comfortable. They were quick to arrange airport transfers, taxis, train tickets, river boat tickets, or anything else needed. Nicest was the complimentary refreshing fresh fruit juice that would magically appear in your room or delivered to you poolside when you arrived back from exploring Luang Prabang.

A very comfortable hotel housed in a colonial building close to town but set back from the street and very quiet. Rooms are large and comfortable and the bed has mosquio netting which is helpful. The restaurant serves good local and international food in an open-air settind, there is also a pool and spa. Recommend highly.
