A relaxing getaway from the city. I have been to many hotels and motels in NZ. This is one of the best I have been. It is very spacious, tidy and clean. Bedroom and lounge is separated, there is also cooking facilities including the induction cooktop, microwave, toaster, kettle & a fridge for you to cook a simple meal. Nice view from the balcony. The room I stayed in has a spa pool, so you can relax and unwind. Staff are friendly and approachable . Overall, an amazing weekend for two. Would highly recommend this motel to any couple. :)

Great place to stay. Cannot fault the room - studio with good bed and good bathroom. The small cooking area is nice to have but you dont reallty need it - there are lots of places to eat minutes away. The spa pools are good to use even in winter . Room had a good table/desk for some work. Reception staff were charming.

The Orewa Motor Lodge is an ideal spot for travelers wanting to discover the city. The Orewa Motor Lodge offers a pleasant stay in Orewa for those traveling for business or leisure. Britomart Station is located approximately 38km away while Auckland International Airport is 63km away. Guests will find St Chad's Church, Rememberance Reserve and Orewa Surf Lifesaving Club just a short distance from the hotel. After a long day of sightseeing, guests can retire to the comfort of the hotel. This Orewa hotel offers parking on site.
We stayed a night before a trip and overnight on Tiritiri Matangi. Even before we arrived we felt valued customers as we were call to confirm arrival details. Beautiful room (upgraded from our original booking), spotlessly clean room with many thoughtful touches that went the ‘extra mile’. Owner went out of their way to get us access to plug in our EV (ICE car parked in EV park ☹️). Owner’s also gave us ideas for morning walk and the wonder coffee cart at little Manly from 6am.
Nice accommodation in Auckland‘s North / Albany. Quiet area with two alpacas. The kitchen is well equipped, property well maintained and the double bed room was spacious.
Staff could barely speak English and you could easily hear the neighbours through the walls. The building‘s quality seems cheap.
Would recommend it for a shorter stay, therefore.
We spent the christmas holiday with two other families in the penthouse (room 3.1). We were all extremely pleased with the facilities and services at this brand new hotel. The living room was spacious and bright, and all rooms were sparkling clean. The hotel staff were friendly and attentive. The refreshing and stunning view overlooking the mountain and creek was a massive gift to our trip. The kitchen was fully equipped and everything was brand new. There was a bar and several restaurants just around the corner, all within walking distance. The atrium garden on the ground floor was also a highlight you won't want to miss. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and will definitely come back again. Highly recommended!
Great location for this hotel which is near the Albany Stadium and Mall and Bus Station and cafes and restaurants...Walking or driving distance from hotel. Ample parking outside or in underneath carpark. Rooms need to be fully cleaned each day which they weren't but otherwise it was a pleasant and comfortable stay. Our thanks to the Manager Jatin for all his help with our booking and service. Recommend this as a hotel to use.
A four-star urban hotel strategically located in the heart of Albany offers a perfect blend of luxury, convenience, accessibility and affordability. Designed for the
discerning travellers who seek an upscale, stylish experience with all the comforts of home and the luxuries of a high-end hotel, without the extravagant price tag.
The Maxim Hotel aims to be more than just a place to stay. An urban sanctuary to recharge and rejuvenate while remaining connected to the vibrant city life outside.
Location The Quest is located in the north shore suburb of Albany. We only chose it because we have relatives living in Long Bay, whom we had come to visit. However, if you’re coming as a tourist to see the sights of Auckland, then this may not be the ideal place to be. To get to the city, for example, we would take an Uber to Devonport, and from there, it’s a short (approx. 20 mins) ferry ride into the city, but all up, for Uber and ferry fares it could cost between $NZ40-50 and take an hour and a half depending on traffic and the waiting time for the ferry. There might be a bus option but we didn’t investigate that. When it came time to leave Auckland, the cost of an Uber to the airport, leaving Quest at 1.30pm on a weekday, was $NZ85. The receptionist told us that despite the out of the way location, the Quest is popular with business travellers and that did make sense, because the Westfield shopping centre is nearby, and there’s a virtual satellite suburb surrounding the Westfield, with dozens of other businesses, shops, cafes and restaurants. The other reason, I guess people would stay here, is if, like us, they are visiting relatives who live in one of the outer north shore suburbs like Torbay, Long Bay, Browns Bay etc, but if I came here purely as a tourist, I would choose to be in the city. Despite its small size, the traffic in Auckland could be pretty horrendous at times, which just adds to your taxi or Uber costs. There isn’t much in the near vicinity of the hotel, apart from a few little shops and restaurants. But the aforementioned Westfield can be easily reached by Uber, or even on foot, although it isn’t a particularly pleasant walk, alongside the highway and it takes about 20-25 minutes. Most of the time, when visiting Westfield, we choose to Uber there and back, and that generally costs a modest $NZ8 or $9 each way. Apartment A comfy little lounge-room was the main feature of the apartment, with a wooden dining table with steel legs, four solid wooden chairs also with steel legs, a small desk and chair with a strong desk light and enough power points to charge all your appliances. There were two comfy lounge chairs in rather dark, sombre colours of olive green and brown, and far too many cushions for such a small space, so they continuously had to be rotated around to make room to sit. The smart TV had local channels as well as YouTube, Netflix, Amazon Prime, pretty much everything you would need from a TV, including a fancy remote with a laser pointer. There was a little coffee table and the whole place was carpeted except for the bathroom and kitchenette, which was just as well, because despite it being mid summer, we found Auckland a cold place and on some days, temps got as low as 18 degrees, complete with wind and rain. Fortunately, the reverse cycle air con worked well, so we had it on heat at 27 degrees most of the time and that at least helped to keep the place warm. I don’t think that we ever used the cooling cycle.
