Just back today from a fantastic 10 days at this hotel, felt from day one you got the personal touch, the gentleman at breakfast was lovely and polite offering tips about the resort and made us very welcome each morning. The room we had was fantastic huge balcony very clean bedding and the hotel decor was quirky with its bikes and nostalgia items, it proves that sometimes the smaller hotels try harder that was definitely the case here. The location is only an Uber ride to the marina costing and average of 5.00 euros plus you can get to most locations from this hotel. We have just returned from our stay in the apartments. As annual visitors I’m sorry to say this will be our last time in the Hilton as it no longer warrants a 5 star rating. 1) the apartments have become very dated and tired looking. Room 217 was just tired everywhere.. the bathroom door frames all boast with water damage, generally tired furniture and lots of tiles which are loose that every time you walk on them there is almost a crack! We also had ants and cockroaches in the apartment which is the first time ever we had seen this! Also in the bedroom the tv was unwatchable as it was all lines and clearly no longer functional 2) the cleanliness has definitely dropped.. rubbish lying on our corridor floor which remained for the week. Also when clearing the apartment on the last day we found someone else’s dirty sock under the bed 3) the apartments pool the jets no longer work and there is unsightly scum round the tiles… also the sun beds padding is dirty 4) the main Hilton pool also looking really tired with the rocks paint all peeling off 5) the toilets at the apartment pool are awful.. the floor is so dirty and on the last day we went to shower here in the ladies room to discover the shower head was snapped off and the cold tap unable to turn so no ability to shower the children in scalding temperature 6) some of the pool towels are only fit for the bin! 7) we went to the hotel bar one evening as it was the option for food(Tuesday) .. on sitting down I was told there was no children’s menu available? How in a family hotel can there be no children’s options? I had to buy the children an 18 euro burger and ask for it totally plain.. totally overpriced and not acceptable to not cater for children here 8) we were tortured with mosquito bites at the pool.. again never had this in all my years of coming here.. perhaps it’s a bad year but not pleasant All in all I have just found the whole resort has went downhill.. it no longer warrants to be called a 5 star and I don’t feel good value for money was here sadly!

We enjoyed a wonderful stay here. The staff were very welcoming and friendly and the whole resort was very clean and presentable. Our 2-bedroom apartment was one of the best-equipped places I have ever stayed in. It was spotlessly clean and very well-maintained. The cleaners visited every day. The beds were very comfy with fresh linens and comfy pillows. The bathrooms were spotlessly clean and the toiletires were very welcome. The kitchen was excellent; we chose to spend our evenings in the apartment and were able to prepare some delicious meals thanks to all the equipment in the kitchen. As we visited in mid-March, we didn't swim in the outdoor pool but happily used the sunbeds around it. We used the indoor pool which was fine. We were really taken with the area, the beaches, the cuisine and the freindly locals and we hope to return one day.

Hotel was lovely. Pools were great and swim up room was worth it. Staff around pool bar and breakfast were very friendly. Excellent breakfast with buffet and lots of choice but unfortunately the rest of the food let the stay down. We pre paid for half board as we wanted the buffet restaurant for our one year old baby who is weaning. After the first night we were told this would be closed as there were private events on and the hotel is quieter. Instead we were forced to eat in the hotels restaurant which is very seafood orientated and very rich food or the similar Thai restaurant. This would have been ok for a change but the menu is very limited for half board and was the same each night. Even if we swapped for lunch around the pool bar was a very small menu and sadly not good quality food. Not what was expected for what we paid for which is a shame as I’m sure the buffet would have been lovely and more suitable . There is a good Italian newly opened across the road but otherwise nothing in the area without taking a taxi to the marina. The hotel runs a shuttle service but not very frequently and with limited places which need prebooking. Although we managed a place each time we booked early that morning. Vilamoura marina is lovely and we would have stayed bed and breakfast only if we would have known about the food. The surrounding refurbishment of the golf course did not cause any problems except for the views were browner rather than lush green but this did not have any impact on us as we had a swim up ground floor room. It will be lovely when completed. Rooms were really well equipped and beautiful cot provided for baby.

We travelled as a family of 3 for a weeks holiday. The Vilamoura Garden Hotel was fantastic. The hotel was clean, modern and quiet. Reception staff were helpful with excellent English. There is a ramp up the handful of stairs to the lift from reception. No problem for us, but this is actually quite steep for wheelchair users and they may require assistance. Our room was 114 (garden view) with a separate lounge area made into a sofa bed for our son. The bedroom was large with a free electronic safe. This was a nice surprise as we're used to being charged for the safe! There was also a free bottle of water, tea/coffee facilities and a fridge. AC was great and could be set separately in the bedroom & lounge areas. Each area had a balcony with a table and 2 chairs. Some TV channels were in English including sports and movies. The bathroom wasn't huge, but it was clean and modern and the rainfall shower over the bath was lovely. The room was cleaned and towels changed daily. There are also robes under the sink. The pool is fairly small but our son still had plenty of fun splashing round in it. We never had a problem getting a sunbed. Towels are free from reception. Breakfast is a buffet with plenty of options. There's sausages, bacon, scrambled eggs, beans, mushroom, toast, cheese, meats, yoghurts, pastries & cakes, tea, coffee, OJ, water etc. Plenty of choice for our fussy 10 year old. Pedro was an absolute ray of sunshine welcoming us to breakfast every morning; so friendly and helpful. We also ate there for dinner once. The food, wine and service were good and prices in line with the marina area. The hotel is a 25 min walk to the marina. The Hilton next door has a shuttle bus that Vilamoura Garden guests can use which runs morning and evening. We took this to the beach and to/from the marina a couple of times. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and appreciated the smaller boutique feel of the hotel and the excellent standard of service. We would definitely stay here again if we returned to the area.

Please be aware Jet2 called this Hotel ”Villamoura Golf apartments” this will cause you issues with local taxi, as they dont know it by that name - hope that helps Big spacious 1 bedroom apartment, clean with large bathroom, small kitchen with fridge, hob, microwave, toaster and kettle Would like to sleep on the sofa bed was very hard (not that we needed to just making anyone who needs all 4 beds aware) Good air con Great staff, really amenable, helpful and pleasant 8 Euro for a taxi to the harbour as of June 2024, the hotel does lay on a free shuttle bus 3 times a day
