On our travels the transmission in our truck failed. We spent a few nights at the Blue Lake ****** until the trucks transmission was replaced. We were fortunate to have stayed here. The beds and pillows are comfortable. Room was very clean and no problem asking for any additional items. Nicely decorated and a patio door where I could sit at the table looking out. The staff, Micah in particular were all awesome. They helped us with a quick registration.....as they could see we had a heck of a day. Even though we had no vehicle we were able to get our meals in the ****** restaurant. It was perfect! They were all booked for the weekend but Micah made sure if there was a cancellation we would be offered the room. We stayed at many hotels doing our 3 week travel and this was the best hotel we stayed at. The in room coffee is great! M & C Decker

Four of us stayed here on 8/16-8/19/22 in rooms 217 and 218. The motel is an older BW which has been kept up. It is a two story property (no elevator), with a nice pool and hot tub and very nice landscaping. Breakfast is in a room next to the front desk. We thought it was one of the better BW breakfasts we have ever had. Housekeeping is upon request and you can get towels and toiletries from the front desk. Note: If you leave trash outside your door the ravens may get it. The rooms were good sized with a fridge (no freezer), TV, clock, coffee maker and microwave. The bathroom (toilet and shower)is small. The sink is outside the bathroom. WIFI was a bit slow but fine for email and web surfing. Parking is in front of the room. Check in was great and check out was fine. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would stay here again.

I stayed three nights at this hotel in room 208, which I found to be a pretty standard Super 8 experience. Good value for a no frills room, basically clean, not spotless but acceptable. Bathroom was run down, with the finish worn off of the tub and a hole in the back of the door. They have made some efforts to spruce the place up, but it could use with some modernization. TV was pretty old but had a decent selection of channels. Carpet could/should be replaced, as there was a unidentifiable sour smell in the room the whole three days, despite my efforts to air the room out. No pool or fitness facilities. They offer free coffee and granola bars until 9:30AM, nice touch for a budget hotel. Location was very good, right off the 101 freeway within five minutes of downtown Arcata, next to McDonalds and across the street from other restaurants and a supermarket. Staff were all excellent, from my experience. As I said, a good value compared to other hotel prices in the area, just be aware that it’s very basic. Tip - if you book on Agoda, you can save some money on the room.

What a Pleasant Surprise! We stayed at Ramada, first time, only one night… We will be back! Very cool Individual, who runs the place and his Beautiful Jax, a House Greeter, who loves His chest scratched and tummy rubbed! Location is Perfect and one minute from Highway 101. See you soon!

This hotel is clean and comfortable. The room was large enough to accommodate all our luggage. The beds were comfortable. The bathroom area was clean with plenty of towels supplied. The breakfast had several hot and cold options. The first morning there were two breakfast attendants. They kept the area clean and well supplied. The second morning there was only one young man working and he was struggling to keep up. People were waiting for food and the tables were not clean.

All rooms open outside. Not a safe neighborhood. When we checked in we waited in the car until what appeared to be a homeless person left from in front of our room. On the street adjoining the hotel is what appears to be a permanent RV parked that has seen much better days. That probably has less to do with the hotel and more to do with the entire city. Not impressed with Eureka! The room itself is nice and appears to have been remodeled. It offers a very good breakfast (while other hotels we stayed at in CA said they could not offer breakfast due to Covid). The hotel is located next to a major road and the traffic can be heard all night.
