The hotel service is very good, the equipment is very new, and it feels safer than the other hotels in this time. The room is large, comfortable, and the location is good. It's not too far away if you drive.

While traveling to Canada we stopped over in Rochester and stayed at the Staybridge Suites. The hotel was nice and comfortable. The sausage at their free breakfast looked like it needed to be cooked more, otherwise it was okay. Check in and check out was easy.

The room was a king suite which was quite spacious with a fluffy pillow and comfortable bed. Upon check in, the friendly woman told us breakfast is served behind you in Char and gave us the hours. I'm not much of a breakfast eater but figured I'd grab a yogurt and muffin before hitting the road. There was a buffet with breads, yogurt, fruit, and eggs, bacon, and sausage, but I don't eat much at breakfast. My husband grabbed some mediocre eggs and a few slices of bacon. I asked if there was coffee and it was brought out promptly. We were surprised when a bill for 47.00 came. Perhaps partially my fault for not remembering that it was not included, but I also think the woman at check out should say, You can purchase breakfast at the restaurant located by the fireplace. That's a hefty price for a yogurt and muffin. Someone said they make pancakes and custom eggs and omelets. That was never indicated to us at all so I'm not sure if that is true. Anyway, I've learned a lesson. I would stay here again but probably walk somewhere down the road for breakfast. Live and learn!

Have you ever had a vegan cupcake? You know how they look super good - the chocolate is often shiny, the cake looks great, and the frosting looks like it could pass for buttercream? Then you take a bite and you instantly feel bad for anybody who thinks that’s what a good cupcake tastes like. That’s the Courtyard Rochester Downtown in a nutshell. Sure it looks nice enough, but it ain’t buttercream. Oh where do I begin? How about finding a full bag of garbage left in our room when we checked in, and then when I called, I received a curt “I’ll send him up to get it.” Let’s proceed to not a single time being greeted with a hello or even having a front desk agent bother to look up when we walked by. How about being referred to as “bro” and “dude” by the people who worked there? Let’s consider the ridiculously overpriced menu in the hotel’s sad little restaurant. The employees at this dump makes you feel like anything you might ask for is a hassle, and they make it obvious at every opportunity just how much they hate their jobs. I made a huge mistake deciding to stay here, especially when the Hampton Inn on Union is a lovely new property with wonderful team members.

The facilities are complete, the hotel environment is good, the restaurant environment is elegant, the parking lot is large, and parking and travel are very convenient. It's not far from the University of Rochester, less than 10 minutes by car.

There was a feeling of cleanliness and it was a good hotel. The bed was nice. There was no bathtub, but it may be due to the grade of the room. As for breakfast, there was not salad, so vegetables were not taken very much, but American hotel may be such a thing. The gym was pretty good, but the weight equipment was a bit difficult to use. We did not use pool, but it was good to look at from the outside. I couldn't find a good restaurant around. Maybe there was, but I didn't ask the concierge, so I entered a nearby steak restaurant called Mortons. I was overcharged but it has nothing to do with the hotel. Overall it ’s pretty good.

The room is clean, the staff is friendly, the breakfast is a bit simple, there are only a few food options, close to the strong museum, 1 minute walk, the parking lot can be used directly at the museum, I will come again.

The Strong National Museum of Play

George Eastman Museum
Ppalettes_nyAs a photography enthusiast, I also added this museum in Rochester to my check-in list before I left. This world's oldest photography museum was opened to the public in 1949. This museum was also owned by the founder of Eastman Kodak Company. After that, the manor was bequeathed to the University of Rochester, and then it was turned into a museum and opened to the public.
The museum is divided into permanent exhibitions and special exhibitions. Before visiting, you can check the current theme and exhibits on the official website. The interior of the manor has well preserved the previous atmosphere and characteristics, and the walls and rooms are decorated with various old photos. When I came here, I happened to catch up with the flower show here, and I could also buy some flowers as souvenirs. The whole manor is very popular. Ppalettes_nyThe school art gallery in the University of Rochester. When I visited the school, I checked in and played together. The building where the art gallery is located is also very interesting. There are not many tourists in the art gallery during the week, so you can calm down and appreciate the exhibits slowly.
When the museum was first established, it mainly exhibited contemporary art paintings. Most of the initial exhibits were borrowed from artists or galleries. As the reputation of the exhibition continued to grow, it gradually had its own permanent exhibition art collection. The more classic collections include "Golden Carnival", "Cows on the Beach", and "Cornwall Coast, Near St. Ives". I prefer the oil painting area in the art gallery. There are not many people, so you can also visit it slowly. The hall in the center of the art gallery is very comfortable with sunlight shining through the roof glass.

It is said to be the largest zoo in Europe. The map shows that it is also very large. In fact, it took more than two hours to visit it. It was sunny all the way to Chester. I didn’t expect it to start raining when I arrived at the zoo. Despite this, it was very nice to sit in the small train and shuttle through the green forest and watch the rain outside (it was not affected even on rainy days because many animals were viewed indoors). After buying the ticket and entering, the staff will give you a paper map, and you just need to follow the route!
