Small family-run hotel, very nice rooms, quiet area, well located. Only small drawback: there is no elevator, but the staff takes care of the luggage. Buffet breakfast, nice choice of products. Efficient laundry service.

I had the most amazing stay at Hilton Garden Inn Samarkand! Arrived and I was shookethd by how boujie the room was…. Super clean…. Special shoutouts to housekeeper Narmilya! She was so helpful. I met so many amazing staff at the reception too. I didn’t have the best experiences in Samarkand but they were all so lovely and made me feel safe, comfortable and welcome. Thank you especially to Sabina, Mumin, Charos, Doston, Mirali and Dimitry! I had some super helpful room service staff as well but I didn’t get their names! The food was great and affordable. If you’re coming to Samarkand as a westerner it can be a bit scary….. but the staff at HGIS made it so much easier…. I’ve never had a hotel experience where the staff have treated me so well….. The hotel is located within an accessible distance of monuments, in a safe part of the city. There are plenty of dining options, a bank, public transport and a shopping center nearby. The hotel provides a free airport shuttle. The staff is very friendly and helpful, they helped me with the trip to Tajikistan and with the withdrawal of money. Despite the fact that the payment card option is listed on the Booking website, in reality this is not possible. Although the hotel has a payment terminal, it is not functional or no one knows how to operate it. I was therefore forced to withdraw cash from an ATM under very unfavorable conditions. The breakfasts are very average. Dairy products and salami are not refrigerated, they are left at room temperature. The same hot buffet. The ox's eyes were cold after standing for a long time. The dishes were not labeled with names. Each step to the first floor and basement was different in height and width. So dangerous. There was a dusty carpet all over the room. Hangers - hooks for outerwear were missing. The toilet, sink and shower were in separate rooms within the room - quite impractical for a single room. The switches were centrally just behind the entrance door to the room. They were placed between the wall and the trunk at a level of about 70 cm above the ceiling, it was necessary to bend. The set for making tea and coffee included a kettle, a cup and a glass. Also 1 tea bag on arrival. There was no sugar or coffee on offer, and even the tea was not replenished for the whole week. The shower corner was technologically poorly designed and water flowed onto the floor and formed a puddle. The sink with mirror lacked mirror lighting and an electrical outlet for a hair dryer or shaver. I also missed a desk with a chair in the room. The hotel looks luxurious to the eye, but it's just smelly misery.

It feels like a rural hotel in a quiet place. Late at night, the hotel door is locked until dawn, which seems to be perfect for older travelers who care about security. The room is relatively small, but there are fluorescent lights to work quietly. You can have a light buffet meal in the morning, but I don't like greasy ones, so I ate fried eggs, a sausage, yogurt, tangerine (high sugar), and a piece of bread. I ordered black coffee for free and drank it. The hotel staff are friendly, but they don't speak English well. I checked out to get out of the 6 o'clock high-speed train to Tashkent, but I was surprised to ask for a $8 tourist tax for two days, four dollars a day. I thought it would be late for the car, so I gave it first and then got on the train, and I thought I was ripped off by the tour guide, so I went there and asked him to pay for it. Looking at the kakaotalk sent by the tour guide later, it seems that you really get a tourist tax in Samarkand. It would be nice to know that those staying in Samarkand have to pay an extra $4 a day.

Every review was good, so I made a reservation and stayed for 2 nights. It's a little deeper in the residential area, but there was a signboard and I found it without hesitation. The highlights are within walking distance from Registan Square. There were restaurants and supermarkets and it was a convenient location. The room is clean but the facilities are normal, and when I stayed, the hot water in the shower was almost water on both days. The man who seems to be the owner seemed fluent and kind in English, but basically communication is taken on Whatsapp. Even if I sent a message such as a request from here, the reply was slow and it was a little inconvenient. I booked a night train from Samarkand to Hiva, so I asked for a transfer to the station at midnight. (It is said that transfers to and from the station and airport are free), but even when it was time, the car did not come, and the staff was absent, so I decided to arrange a taxi by myself and move. Even if I sent a message, I was disappointed with the read-through. It may happen that I was talking to other guests at breakfast and having tea in the courtyard. I wonder if I was not welcomed attributely. I think it's good to stay without expecting much.

The hotel is very decorated, the carpet and floor are very warm, the murals in the lobby are very beautiful, it is the historical depiction of Uzbek. Overall, it is worth recommending! What needs to be spit is that the hotel restaurant is ranked first in the local area. If it is not booked three days in advance, there is no seat at all. Moreover, when I checked in, I was booked, but I was told that I was full. It seems that the communication between the front desk and the restaurant still needs to be improved. Overall, the hotel is not bad!
