B&B Piazza Fratti

I needed a cheap place to stay for 1 night before boarding my cruise. This was close to the train station and close to the port shuttle pickup. However, the free shuttle pickup has been stopped. There is a pickup in front of the train station for $6 euro. Be advised if you have luggage, you will be walking on cobble stone with your luggage and there will be some inclines. Then there is about 20 steps to the unit. The unit is 3 rooms with a shared living room type space. I stayed in the Mimosa room which has it's own bathroom. The bathroom was small. If you are of any size larger than small, you will struggle getting into the shower. I have never experienced a shower so little in my life. Your knees touch the sink while sitting on the toilet. The bed mattress felt like a piece of foam. The day I arrived, it was warmer and I had just walked from train station with luggage and carried them up the stairs. I asked about A/C and was told they did not allow it to be used until summer time. So I opened the windows. Since the place is inside a square, there is a lot of noise. There were also mosquitoes. With that being said, it was very close to many eateries and sites. Great location for walking. I am glad I only had 1 night as I could not comfortably stay here for more than that.

Nice B&B, a bit old but does the job and near the ferry. The breakfast included is small, but appreciated.

Convenient location to train station and cruise ports. few negatives 1) unit was not easy to find (better instructions or map would help) 2) AC was not available the night we stayed due to condensation issues, which made sleeping uncomfortable. And the management, instead of letting us know and perhaps with an apology or compensation like offering us a different room, hid the remote so we can’t use the AC. This caused us time to look for the ac remote not knowing about the problem. And when we borrowed a remote from a tenant next door to turn on the AC was when we experienced the leaks and had to turned it off. 3) the area was rather noisy late into the night.

This place was perfect for us as a launch point for a cruise. It’s not what you might would expect in an upscale setting. It’s Italy. It’s old, it’s not fancy, there is some walking required to get transportation. You check in via a phone call. You don’t see anyone from the place till the next morning but we loved it. Plenty of Eating and shopping near by. It was a great taste of Italy to begin our cruise.

It was pretty difficult for us to find the property when we first got there as the restaurant it tells you to look for was closed and you couldn’t see the sign for the name of it. We weren’t able to use the breakfast vouchers provided because both restaurants ended up being closed the day we were there. Nice and close to port (we were able to walk to port and use the free shuttle in port to get to our cruise line).

Disgusting place nothing like the photos, our door wouldn't lock, room not clean at all, towels grey, dirty head rest. Was suppose to have breakfast included. We were left a voucher to go to this cafe. When we arrived we handed the two vouchers to the lady behind the counter. We could only have a coffee and a pastry and we had to pay 12 euros!! Do not stay here

The B and B is very handy for walking from the train station and to the port. Its located in a very nice Piazza with plenty of bars and restaurants. The main door is accessed via a key pad with the code sent prior to your arrival and from there your key is left in a key box. There was a small kitchen sitting area which led to two room at the rear. My room was small but very clean and tidy with a good sized bathroom. The aircon worked well but was a little noisy. The walls were a bit thin and I could hear the guest in the next room snoring ! You get a voucher for a coffee and croisant which can be redeemed in one of two cafes. I went to the nearest one just near the B and B. Which was fine. Overall this place was a bargain and I would stay again.

Property was initially charming, but water pressure in shower was poor and bad drainage caused water to overflow onto the floor. One of the closets was used for storage of dirty sheets. Area around property was rather noisy into the wee hours of the night. On the plus side, close to the cruise port. And property building was well-secured.

The staff was very helpful and kindly. She also helped us obtain transportation to our cruise shop port.
