We stayed at Discovery Beach the first week of June, and we had a tough time accepting the fact we gave up a wonderful resort for a trade to this place. We bought our timeshare in 1987, and still to this day our resort is a top-notch, very high-demand resort. We have traded to resorts overseas, and all over the United States as well as to several areas in Canada. I have no idea what Discovery Beach is doing with its maintenance fees. It was incredible how trashed this place was; they hadn’t done any maintenance to the rooms in many years. I had live roaches coming out of my dishwasher, and yes, I included a couple of photos of the inside of the dishwasher. There are bug parts on the front inner lip of the dishwasher. The inside appears to have never been cleaned out, and still, to this day I have no idea how roaches manage to live under the screen of the dishwasher. Not only were roaches inside the dishwasher, but I spent the entire week killing roaches all over the unit. The chairs were terrible, they must have been 20 years old, I included a photo of one of the chairs, every single dining room looked the same; just like something you would pick up at a Goodwill Store. The coffee table weighed 30 pounds or more, it had a granite top on the coffee table. I kept waiting for the leg to fall off whenever it was moved due to the weight. The patio furniture was made from PVC pipe. Our master bathroom faucet had corrosion through the body, it was nasty; I also included a photo of the faucet. The water line to the toilet was rusted, having been there many years. The toilet was difficult to flush and must be original with the resort. Where does the maintenance fee go? The fees certainly do go to replacing anything. The staff was rude, the person who had any sense of politeness was the lady who worked midweek at the towel exchange. She was very pleasant, and a prime example for others to follow. I came down early evening one night looking for my daughter-in-law and was followed by one of the staff, and he finally said “Do you need something”? It was as though I was some crook coming in to take stuff, very condescending. I had my stupid yellow band on my wrist to show I belonged inside the lobby of the resort. My laundry room door fell off the hinges and was hanging by one roller. I took the door off the guide and laid the door against a bedroom wall. There were pieces that fell to the floor, so I gathered up the pieces and took them down to the front desk. I asked for a maintenance person, and the gentleman working the front desk said: “What do you need”. I explained to him I wanted to talk with the maintenance guy, and the gentleman said, what is it you need? I dumped the parts from the roller and guide on his desk and told the gentleman I wanted to give these broken parts that belong to the laundry room door to the maintenance guy, he may need these parts when he goes to fix the door. There are other stories, but I wi
