Quinta do Cabo Guesthouse

Stayed in when hiking down the coast from Praia dos Macas to Cascais. This was a perfect stopping point right off of the hiking trails and is located very close to the ocean; there is a wonderful spot to watch sunsets just a short walk down the road. So convenient to walk straight in off the trails to recharge and hop right back on the trail the next day. The staff is very hospitable and truly cares about the quality of your stay. Pascal was very welcoming and made me feel right at home. Rooms are good size and well appointed. I would recommend this to friends and family when they visit the Sintra region.

Honestly: this is one of those places why you should have the option to give more than 5 stars. What a guesthouse, just fantastic! You can spend days on the property and not get bored playing tennis, piano, billiards, swimming, or being served breakfast on the patio by a great staff. But if for some inexplicable reason you’ve seen enough of the beautiful guesthouse and the amazing gardens, just go outside of the grounds and have nature treat you with the most stunning views. From cliffs and high hills overlooking the ocean, to beaches with high waves, to green beautiful forests which are litteraly in the clouds sometimes. It really felt like a privilege to have been a guest at Quinta do Cabo! Tip for others who want to feel privileged: get there by car, preferrably one that has a bit more ground clearance. But that goes for the entire Sintra-Cascais Natural Park area.

This place is a hidden gem ! We stayed with another couple for 3 nights. The owner Pascal is a serviceminded host, breakfast served py Pedro was excellent and the whole place is very tasteful, clean and serene. It had a nice poolarea and also a private tennis court. In the nearby village of Azoia there are several nice restaurants. In the vicinity there are also some very wild and beautiful beaches.

A warm welcome from the owner & consistently kind, friendly & helpful throughout as was Pedro. Delicious breakfast. Such a tranquil location. Has to be experienced to appreciate it. Delightful! We will definitely return! Highly recommended!

We hebben 8 nachten in deze quinta geslapen. Onze suite (nummer 7) was ruim en van alle gemakken voorzien. Het gebouw ziet er fantastisch uit. De eigenaar is zeer vriendelijk en klantgericht. Dat geldt ook voor het personeel. Ontbijt is prima verzorgd. De tuin is royaal met een mooi zwembad. Er zijn meerdere restaurants in de directe omgeving (op loopafstand). De stranden langs de kuststrook, Lissabon, Sintra, het is allemaal goed bereikbaar. In de omgeving kun je goed wandelen of met de auto door kleine dorpjes rijden (over mooie - soms heerlijk smalle - wegen). Kortom, een prima locatie om te verblijven.

Quinta da Cabo war die letzte Station auf einer sehr abwechslungsreichen und spannenden Reise durch den Norden Portugals. Wir wurden ganz herzlich von Pascal, dem deutschen Besitzer der Quinta empfangen. Unser Zimmer (Nr. 5) war riesig, hatte einen Flur mit begehbarem Kleiderschrank und ein großes Bad. Alles war in Topzustand und es fehlte an nichts. Haus und Garten bieten viele Möglichkeiten sich entspannt aufzuhalten oder sportlich zu betätigen. Die verschiedenen Gärten sind wunderschön angelegt und bieten so viel Platz, dass hier jeder ein abgeschiedenes Plätzchen findet. Es ist an wirklich alles gedacht (Bademäntel und Handtücher für den Pool/ Dusche und Toiletten direkt neben dem Pool) Den Gästen steht das ganze Erdgeschoss (Lobby mit mehreren Sofas/ Wohnzimmer/ Bar/ Billardtisch/ offener Vorraum zum Garten), welches sehr geschmackvoll und gemütlich eingerichtet ist. Abends bietet die Vertrauensbar Gelegenheit sich zu sehr moderaten Preisen mit allen erdenklichen Getränken zu versorgen (Crushed ice inklusive). Abends war der Park an verschiedenen Punkten eindrucksvoll mit Solarlichtern beleuchtet. Auch im Haus gab es viele gemütliche, kleine Lichter. Wir haben es sehr genossen von Pascal Informationen aus erster Hand zu Land, Leuten, Politik und Portugal im Allgemeinen zu bekommen. Ein besonderer Dank gebührt Pedro, der guten Seele in der Küche und im Frühstücksservice, immer freundlich und zu Späßen aufgelegt. Nach der manchmal anstrengenden Rundreise haben wir auf der Quinta do Cabo einen Platz zum "Seelebaumelnlassen" gefunden.
