My boyfriend and I (22 and 21) have just returned from a 10 night stay on the Tabaiba side of the hotel. Staff overall were amazing, nothing was ever too much trouble, plates and glasses were cleared before you could even blink and it felt as though there were always people around in case needed. Bar, restaurant and cleaning staff members were friendly and very accommodating! Reception staff were also great, ordering taxis that arrived within a couple minutes and explaining cleaning services etc. However, it seemed that the slightly higher ups (lifeguards and managerial staff) were constantly looking for things you were doing wrong whilst not being overly consistent. For example, a lifeguard focused more on a plate of food being near an adults only pool rather than a person smoking cigarettes throughout the day in a none smoking area. A manager telling me to cover up while wearing a bikini top and shorts while another guest was allowed to wear a bikini with a t shirt and no bottoms; despite there being no rules surrounding this at lunch times, only dinner. It sometimes felt like you were a child being told off rather than a paying guest. The main pool area is objectively stunning but felt too busy and tightly packed together. My boyfriend and I opted to stay in the adults only section in the day time which was perfect for us and far quieter. The food at the hotel was a mixed bag for us. There was plenty of variety in the main food hall with nice flavours, but it was very busy with kids running around and large queues for the cooking stations. We did feel that this food was nicer than the two restaurants at the resort you had to book for. The Italian lacked selection and really didn’t do a lot for us while the Asian restaurant was quite nice, I was unfortunately sick all of the next day, not being able to leave the room (I think it was the sushi as that’s the only thing I ate that my boyfriend didn’t). He notified the reception staff of this and they just looked at each other with very little to say. As a result of this we ate out in Maspalomas most nights and ate from the snack bar in the day, which had a good selection and perfect for lunch. Restaurants that we particularly liked were Misbah, El Churrasco and Messaluna Pizzeria. We were apprehensive about the drinks at the hotel due to reading recent reviews. However, the standard all inclusive package included everything you could need, spirits, beers, wines, cocktails. There were only 3 cocktails which came from a machine but if you’re a little creative, i.e. asking a bar tender to put a spirit in the bottom of the cup before filling with the cocktail and adding a bit of mixer, it really makes no odds to your holiday (this is coming from a cocktail drinker). In addition to this, the measurements are great with bar tenders often just asking you to “say when.” They even attempted to make custom shots for us, adding random liquors to the AI baileys they offered. The rooms are modern an
