Super 8 by Wyndham Cooke City Yellowstone Park Area

The bed was very uncomfortable. There was no wifi. It was noisy and the grounds were a mess. If there had been any other option I would have changed. They were overpriced for what they offered. The staff was really nice.

We were hoping for a nice or at least adequate room due to great location near entrance to Yellowstone- but the room was not well cleaned, breakfast was pretty terrible even for Super 8 and staff did not seem to care about much.

Hotel ok overall, nothing spectacular but it was a nice break off the road. The breakfast was underwhelming, would have liked to see a few more options. Low water pressure but shower was hot. Fairly quiet.

We stopped here at the last minute as we were planning to go to Red Lodge, but it was getting late. The price was in line with other lodging in the region. It was clean and functional. We were awakened in the middle of the night as a person above us had to be flown to a hospital. It would be good to know how they are doing. We didn't get much sleep that night, but it wasn't anyone's fault. We were a little disappointed with the breakfast offerings in the morning, but maybe that is a Super 8 thing?

NOTE: rooms have no A/C so if you have a room that the sun hits it will be hot in the summer. Cooke City is high elevation but it still gets warm up there. I saw some rooms that faced the parking lot had fans set up in the windows to cool down the rooms. We had a NE facing room and it was hot in the room much of the night. We had the windows open but road noise was loud and then at 6:30 AM someone let their dogs out on the deck of the building that is immediacy next door and the dogs began barking for 20 min until they apparently let them back in the house. No elevator and we were on the third floor so if you’re traveling with family and many bags be advised. Room was small, but it was clean and neatly decorated. Internet was basically useless and there is not much for cell service in town so plan accordingly. Some business and the information center have wifi. Second time staying here past couple years, would probably stay again if coming through but would also check other lodging options.

Okay, so the first thing you need to know about Cooke City is that is literally a wide spot in the road that is about 2 blocks long. There is no cellular signal in this part of Montana. There are no luxury accommodation choices here for lodging or dining. That being said, do NOT expect the Four Seasons. This Super 8 was as nice as it gets in Cooke City, and even though the breakfast is not much, it was more than adequate considering you are in the middle of nowhere. The hotel has wi-fi and some reviewers complained about its speed, but keep in mind any wi-fi is a luxury in this town and when we stayed here, it worked great. Pros - clean hotel and rooms, has Wi-Fi in a place where there is no cell service, shower vent to reduce steam on mirror, several AC outlets, April very friendly and helpful check in person, sink counter separate from toilet and shower/tub, tub has jetpool, breakfast minimal but very good for what's available in town Cons - no AC - heat only, small sink counter, blackout curtains let in too much daylight very early in the morning in summer, beds not comfortable, no conditioner

Spent 1 night here. Very nice and clean room. Small bathroom. Pool and hot tub were clean areas. Breakfast was very nice. Had variety of cereals, waffles, pastry, biscuits and gravy. Second floor had an entrance at back so didnt have to do steps with luggage.
