Dunas Club - Hotel & Apartamentos

We first stayed here approx 25 years ago & decided to try again after our apartment booking let us down . We were only away for 4 nights for a birthday treat & were not disappointed. We did ask to move rooms which the management team dealt with promptly & without issues. We found all the team members very friendly. Rooms are clean & well equipped with toaster, kettle, microwave, hob & all cutlery required. We also had a large fan which we didn't use , there is no air con which might be an issue in hotter months. Hotel location is good ,a short walk round the harbour to all bars & restaurants La Luna restaurant adjoining the hotel serves very nice food, we had breakfast here on 2 mornings. We had a lovely short break , thanks to all, & we will return.

Upon arrival at hotel late at night (22:30ish) we were given our room key and pointed in the direction of our room, when we came out of the lift we were greeted by our room (254) right next door to the lift, the room was spacious and clean but the noise from the lift was continuous through the night so we asked if we could move rooms but were told there were no other rooms available to pop back in the morning. After no sleep and being up for more that 36 hours we returned to reception to be told there was no other rooms available for us to move and the room we were given was an 'Upgrade' as we had a restricted pool view. We went back to room but couldn't unpack as we were hoping to get another room or have to move to another hotel as we couldn't stay in the room for a week with no sleep...luckily when the Jet2 rep arrived at 16:30 we managed to move rooms to a quieter room without a view but that didn't bother us. Other than the room mix up the hotel was okay...clean but rooms/towel/bed change are only twice within your 7day stay. Location was the best part of this hotel as it was quiet but close walking to the Marina, Shops, Bars and Restaurants. Rooms don't have Air Con but you are provided with a fan in the room. We arrived late at night so no access to shops etc so had no water to take meds before bed.

We arrived at Dunas Club, Corrallejo, on 23/03/2024 We had booked with Jet2, a package deal, a one bedroom apartment, with pool view I had emailed previously, to ask for a sunny balcony apartment, had an acknowledgment from Dunas Club, saying they couldn’t guarantee it but would do their best On arrival we were told we had been given an “upgrade to a sea view, I wasn’t sure about this, but agreed to it When we got to the “upgraded room” to find it was a studio To me that is a “downgrade” We went back to reception to ask for the one bedroom apartment we had booked and paid for The receptionist could not believe we didn’t want the sea view, it was difficult to them to understand that a studio, instead of a one bedroom apartment is not an upgrade I was extremely stressed about it This holiday had been booked for our 48th Wedding Anniversary, I put that in the original email asking for a sunny balcony We were told we would have to stay in it that night, as no one bedroom apartment ms we’re available for that night Now, had I not been so tired (late arrival from airport) and stressed out, I might have stopped to ask why we couldn’t get the one bedroom apartment we had originally booked and paid for The next morning, when going for breakfast, I asked at reception (different receptionist) when we would be able to move to our original apartment booking We were told to give them 5 minutes and they would see when, but said the apartment was being cleaned now We said we would go for breakfast and come back to find out the progress of the apartment When we got back to the reception the room was ready We were so relieved It did put a downer on our first night, we didn’t get an apology, but we were happy with the new apartment and did not make a complaint to Jet2 Not really sure it was Jet2’s fault Dunas Club is in a great location, very clean and staff are very helpful (apart from the person that dealt with us on arrival) The only issue we had was other residents banging doors when they entered or left apartments and the echo in the corridor, you can hear everyone talking as they walk along the corridor at night and the wee small hours We were on the second floor, so maybe the echo is worse there

Check - in was quick and straightforward and we got directions to our room. With luggage we used the lift and walked from one end of the block to the other. We had a room with a small balcony that looked out onto the street and was a glorious sun trap in the afternoons. The studio apartment was a good size and well laid out. The fridge was good and we had a toaster and kettle and the necessary cutlery and crockery. The beds were comfortable and there were spare pillows in the wardrobe if needed. We sunbathed most mornings on the upper deck and were able to get sunbeds but they filled up fast and unfortunately despite signs asking people not to do it, people reserved beds early on to make sure they got their spot and didn’t use them for hours. For the number of apartments and potential guests there are nowhere near enough sunbeds. I would hate to visit during the summer months if the place was full. I looked into the gym and it was well equipped and laid out. The apartments are near the sea and harbour and the location provides a great walk in all directions. The harbour has ferries where you can do day trips to Lanzarote and you can also pick up the bus to Puerto del Rosario which is worth a visit. I would stay here again if returning to Corralejo.

Overwhelmed how good our family room was…. Very spacious with two rooms two tv’s and two bathrooms so perfect for my family of Four two teenaged boys. Location is perfect turn right five minute Walk to restaurants turn left for miles of walking along the seafront. We recommend the hotel restaurant (la Luna)for breakfast if you like a full English. Spoilt for choice for restaurants in the area all within walking distance but do your research the first night we just went to one without checking it on trip advisor and it was very bog standard and service was miserable otherwise we’ve had great meals. If I was to visit Corralejo again I would certainly stay here. Also mention the gym here is very good for those odd dull days 😊 I would imagine the summer being a bit more difficult to get sunbeds as it’s march now and they go quick!

Fabulous apartment complex right at the very picturesque harbour. Rooms very modern and clean Small outdoor pool with good quality sunbeds. Restaurant on site and dozens of good restaurants literally on your doorstep. Music square 5 minutes walk away

If i could give this 0 stars i would. Upon arrival we were given room 206. This was facing the sun and was like a sauna when we entered. We immediately put the fan on and opened the patio doors and it was just rotating the hot air absolutely scorching. The smell of lemon in the room which was the spray to prevent Cockroaches was so over powering I was coughing non stop immediately. Then I went to the kitchen to get some water and there were ants riddled everywhere. I went to reception to complain and she advised we could not cancel our booking or change it to 1 night. This was down to ***********. I rang *********** and was on hold forever and they said it's down to the hotel so basically passed from pillar to post. Reception eventually did agree to change our rooms. Again still ants in the kitchen and rusty fan that was so dirty we were circulating dust and muck on us if we used it. We were unable to open both patio doors as one had rusted so badly. So we could only have one open. The pillows were so flat on the beds that you might as well have slept on a sun lounger on the beach it would have been more comfortable. I will say the restaurant staff were polite, friendly and that is because they don't work for the hotel. They work for the restaurant. The breakfasts were really nice. The evening meal not great unless you like peppers onions and everything swimming in oil. After one night I couldn't face sleeping in that room constantly coughing and it being boiling i had to pay for another hotel. I went back to dunas club on the day of checkout and there was an error with my coach transfer and they wouldn't help. When I was explaining to her she said in an aggressive tone "WHAT, EXPLAIN CLEARLY" rudest ppl I've ever encountered in my life. She then said nothing I can do take it up yourself. When I asked about their airport shuttle she just said no you should have done it days ago. She walked away from me and left the key on reception anyone could have taken it. Pros of the hotel It has a pool It has a gym Cons Incredibly rude staff not just one but all of them Rusty fans, rusty windows, dirty net curtains Rooms nothing like the pictures - dark dingy and very very outdated, they've clearly upgraded one or two rooms for the photos and the rest are old fashioned run down and hideous Stinking bathrooms with no replenishment of toiletries No kitchen cleaned for 4 days Ants all over kitchen work tops Stench of cockroach chemicals The rating of this hotel is really not appropriate at 8.2. I would honestly rate it 3. If that. It was like faulty towers. Please do your research and look at the photos I attach and do yourself a favour and book elsewhere.

This was our third visit to the Dunas Club ( 28th Feb-6th March 24) and it did not disappoint again. The apts are basic but comfortable. We opted for a studio overlooking the pool this time and it was lovely, suited our needs no problem. We have had a one bed apt on previous visits but the studio was more than adequate. We are back in a one bed apt this Sep 24. The pool area is excellent, clean and we have always found sun loungers available. The position of the hotel is excellent... 5 mins walk and your in the old town. There is a supermarket 2 mins away and a taxi office left out of reception and round the next corner. The pool bar was open 12-6pm...(10-6 in summer) and has a wide selection of snacks/meals/drinks which they package accordingly if you want to take back to the pool area. We have always found the staff helpful and polite. The location is a massive plus for us as you are not far at all from everything.

Dunas Club Second time to Corallejo, thirty years apart. It's changed, unfortunately there's a lot of uncompleted build. Thirty years ago we were so pleased to see Dunas Club as our bumpy bike ride reaches civilization. This time we were probably a bit more reticent , a grumpy check in where we are informed that RCI guests are to be checked out at 10am two hours earlier than other guests. We have to pay for power etc and there are options to upgrade to half board. To make matters worse your towels are yours for the week as are your sheets unless you want to pay £25 a change. At 3:30 we arrive in our lovely suite. One bedroom, two bathrooms supposed to house 5 unlikely but lovely. The half board option is a special inferior menu. The food at La Luna was poor. The pool area , sunny side was busy. The two balconies have a view of the jet 2 offices and vacant lots but a nice sea view albeit from the side and it's very well used by noisy people at 12 in the morning who then you realise are staying next to you and will then come for a fag and a vodka on the balcony. The town itself was clean, it's a lovely development, shops and bars, unfortunately the locals just helped themselves to drinks in hyperdino and drinking from the bottle before replacing, the bottles on the cooker. Lots of children had been removed from school so it was quite busy. No doubt the same people who complained when the schools were closed. Food was ok ranging to excellent. The beer was very nice. How come beer is cheap but fruit juice so expensive? Great views having dinner overlooking the sea. Port nearby and the bus stopped there to visit the capital. Capital not too inviting but it doesn't help where the bus station is but a pleasant day out. From the bus station, the big bus stop a couple of days out but nothing too special to recommend. Overall, over developed, very windy again but clean and warm if you have the right clothes. A jumper is definitely required for the evening and a light coat fleece would be part of my next trip. It was supposedly 20 but felt like 10. Enjoy
