Hotel Taimar

We are here now , have been since Saturday…What a beautiful, modern clean hotel. The rooms are spacious and the service is fab too…the staff cannot be more helpful, you ask they deliver and sometimes go above and beyond. It is a pretty long ride from the airport but you get a chance to see the terrains which is amazing.There is a great mix of nationalities and that’s what I like …not too many British people as I love to hone my linguistic skills ( which are poor) The whole hotel, including the restaurant is kinda minimal but I like that . Yes it can be draughty but you just take a wrap or fleece nd it’s sorted. No real bar but you can take drinks back to your room no problem so don’t see a downside at all. It is a very relaxed chilled vibe but if you need more upbeat vibes, the small town is only a 15 min walk away. The Canadian people are so friendly and they reciprocate if you are nice/rude…you get what you give. I can thoroughly recommend this hotel …run don’t walk and get booked ! . It is very accessible and you can get a room near the restaurant etc and there is a lift to the rooftop pool (small but beautiful) We are in room 39 which is at the end of the complex but sooooo quiet, perfect for us .

A really lovely stay. Currently here chilling on a sunlounger. Room. We stayed in one of the suites (10). Really spacious with a large seating/sunbathing area outside. The shower was a treat. It was huge, and the fact it had a sunroof over it to let in natural light was lovely. Regular housekeeping service. Pool Rooftop space with plenty of sunloungers. A very pleasant area. Did not find the music that's been previously mentioned annoying at all. Dining Room/Food The food was good. I'm not going to lie. It wasn't 5*, but considering it's a European 4* all-inclusive hotel, it's what to be expected. If you want amazing food, you don't book an all-inclusive hotel. We have enjoyed each meal, plenty of different options. All food cooked well and warm. We enjoyed the fact the dining room was a little exposed. The breeze was a treat. To be honest it's very rare in the UK that you get days when you can eat outdoors, so we embraced this. Staff All have been warm and welcoming, no faults what so ever. Accessibility This is a brilliant accessible hotel. My partner has quite significant mobility issues and uses a four wheeled walker. He has been able to access all parts of the hotel with ease. It's been brilliant. Level access to the room and dining room. A lift up to the rooftop pool. There is a ramp down into the pool with handles on each side, which was great. You don't see this often. Beach We were advised to head to a beach with wheelchair access. This was great and a really enjoyable day out. On the whole, I think the hotel is appealing to couples/friends who want a very chilled break in pleasant surroundings. Costa Calma isn't the most vibrant of areas, but it definitely met our needs, and I would consider returning. I've spoken to a couple who are here for the third time.

Were do I start food cold and not a good standard same things everyday dining room freezing you definitely need a jumper its an open room no music by pool no entertainment nothing to do at all even the surrounding area no pubs or restaurants after dinner yr back to yr room with nothing to do no snacks morning sometimes snacks at 3 but is breakfast buns left no ice cream for kids no parasol round pool so you burn very windy paulino is the best staff by far some of them are very rude when your eating they try take your plates at dinner you can't have fresh coffee you have to pay even though your all inclusive and its supposed to be 4 star at best its 2 the rooms are lovely bathroom nice as well but I would definitely never come back to this hotel and I pray that you seriously take the reviews serious because yr in for a massive let down and we paid 2500 pounds for this hell

Where do I start, first of all the hotel itself is very modern and clean, food is OK but the restaurant is very open to the elements and is like a wind tunnel, you definitely need a jacket on whilst in there, it needs some toldos so it can be closed of from the wind, bearing in mind we went in may and the weather was 28 degrees but there is a wind all the time, there is also no music or entertainment, not even a separate bar to sit and socialise in so after your evening meal you just go back to your room, No parasols around sunbeds, pool absolutely freezing, nothing to do in and around the area, I would not recommend to others and would not go back.

Here now. First impressions - good quality hotel. Very small and quiet. Staff have been incredibly welcoming and helpful, all work very hard. We are staying in a premium suite - which has not disappointed. Lots of nice touches - incredible rainfall shower with overhead glass roof which lets in a lot of light. Enjoying the ‘solarium’ - outside private sunbathing area. Bonus is two smart tv’s and is charging points. Room service every day, clean and comfortable rooms. Drinks - local only but very good quality and well served. Food is plentiful and tasty however could be better warmed. Pool/bar area very good, however music is repetitive and lacks character! (Piano music!) Beach is amazing but a good 20 minute walk which we enjoyed - be prepared for an all terrain amble through woodland and gentle hills.

We stayed here from 17th March - 23rd March. Booked all inclusive but it is more like full board. We arrived at 5pm after travelling all day and had to wait until 7pm for dinner. Thankfully there is a shop at the end of the street so we could get some items to keep us going. The snacks in between meals consisted of the left over pastries from breakfast that sat on the poolside bar. Room was lovely, clean and spacious. Restaurant for breakfast, lunch and dinner feels like it is situated in a wind tunnel. Dinner time was especially cold you had to have a coat/fleece scarf on. We ate as quick as we could because it was so cold. Back in the room for 8pm most nights. we would have liked to have sat in the restaurant for a bit longer. Bar/waiting staff are lovely and friendly.

Arrived at hotel on the 23 March, checked in was shown restaurant , pool upstairs and told follow path to room . No complaints with room as it was very spacious , shower was very powerful no faults here. Weather wasn’t that good on arrival as they were in the middle of a storm .. this lasted a few days so most of our time was spent at the room, using the patio when the sun came out .. However on going for our meals , the restaurant is very opened to the elements it was very cold, had to wear fleeces or jackets . It was like this at all meals .. food was ok and always managed to get something to eat although limited . The biggest disappointment was no enclosed bar area to sit and relax with a drink and meet people . ( or to get out room ) at the bar on the 4th night I was asked for room number, the member of staff was very aggressive , I tried to show my band but he wanted room number, I gave him it and asked why he was asking for it . He explained it was to record all alcohol , which I get, but we had never been asked before or after this event, and other people getting drinks that night weren’t asked ! So no consistency. In general All the staff were lovely and polite and always very busy . Weather started to pick up but it was cold and windy at poolside so again we used our patio and beach . On our last day we had to check out at 12, didn’t get picked up until 5-45pm , no curtesy room (shower at pool ) cases left at reception as again no room for cases. It was a good job it was a cracking day cause if it had been raining I don’t know what we would have done . Costa Calma has also felt the effects from Covid, with lots of businesses now closed . In all we did have a relaxing holiday , but think the hotel is missing a couple of things .

10 day holiday, perfect until the evening of the 8th day when my wife found a large piece of glass in her carbonara sauce , quietly it was handed in to the waiter who immediately took it into the kitchen. He took photos of the glass when he returned it to us. we then had a meeting with the manager next morning and she implied twice that we were lying however she did say that she would email through the photos taken (conveniently the piece of glass had been put into the trash!!!). We made repeated requested for the photos but each time we were given some excuse, as we hadn't received the photos or the piece of glass so we asked for a hotel complaint form. Then the whole attitude of the manager changed, she refused to talk to us. The only offer of compensation was a mini bottle of sparkling wine which we returned. We were all inclusive !! We returned home early next day without any further contact.

We are still in hotel and we took all inclusive.The room is very clean, the staff is extremely helpful and friendly, hotel it self is very modern. We are here second time and we got from hotel a mini bottle of Cava, this was a nice touch.Food-very low budget. We are here sixth days already and all you can get ; loads of vegetables, rice and pasta, fish. For me fish and salads ok, these are what I had to eat all six days, but for my husband ( he is a chef), he couldn’t find anything good, meat chewy and no flavor, for dinner chicken nuggets ,excuse me chicken nuggets-what are they thinking!!! We went to eat couple times outside.But still I can not give for this hotel low rate, just recommend do not take all inclusive, if you love food.
