Residence Inn New Orleans Covington/North Shore

Great location for business and leisure in New Orleans. We had a two bedroom suite with a full kitchen that was fully stocked, spacious and newly renovated. The hotel was completing renovations and we were not impacted by the construction at all. Additionally the room and the hotel as a whole were very quiet which we appreciated. The breakfast buffet had many choices both hot and cold, and as a low carb diabetic I was easily able to find options, while the rest of the family enjoyed a full breakfast. We also appreciated the china plates and real silverware, this added a touch of class along with the attentive and friendly service staff. Our room was immaculate, although there was not enough space for luggage, and we would have preferred some additional wall shelving and a towel rack next to the vanity. We always have a great stay at Marriott brand hotels and this location is top notch.

Excellent rooms, clean hotel, Gwen is the absolute best and makes an incredible breakfast. The location is also very quiet and safe. There are plenty of restaurants and fun things to do very close by. You’re also a good distance between New Orleans and Baton Rouge.

Staff so helpful. Tomika exceptional dealing with the changes we had to make, Ellen so nice too. Entire staff friendly/accommodating. Hot breakfast good, site clean, big refrigerator, microwave, dishes, stove area. Highly recommend.

The room was once very nice, but details are being neglected. Stained sofa with flattened cushions, cabinet door broken off and reattached halfway back in the cabinet so won't close, not a single usb cable in the entire room. Kitchen lacking basics; corkscrew/bottle opener, and very tiny. In-room coffee is not drinkable, tastes like chemicals. Otherwise, it's comfortable and quiet. Just left the comparable room in Houston, it was outstanding. All above complaints not applicable there.

I love this place it is my go to place however Marriott decided to use large bottles of Shampoo ,Conditioner,and bath soap. Meaning the eco factor has taken importance over client safety. Anyone that had the room before me could have put anything in those containers. In addition the energizing bath soap isn’t great for sensitive skin or sensitive body parts I actually had to use a cold cloth on myself. To take away the burning feel. The customer service her was excellent however because this Marriott corporate change they couldn’t do anything This is an unsafe and bad move on their part. The hotel itself is great just bring your own toiletries

Not pet-friendly: The reason for the one star review is this hotel claims it is pet-friendly. It is not....it charges $100 fee for your pet. I only stayed one night and my dog is great - never a problem. I tried to negotiate with the manager but to no avail. They also had my credit card so if my dog had done damage, they had a way to charge me. I had a non-refundable rate from *******, it was late and I didn't want to have to find another hotel and then negotiate with *******. I travel the country a lot and have paid anywhere from 20 to 40 dollars for a pet fee but never 100. This is just a plain rip-off.

We stayed here for two nights. The hotel's location is quiet and easy to get to. It is also close to restaurant and a nice drive across the causeway to New Orleans We had a quiet, clean fourth floor 2 bedroom suite. The beds were comfortable. The breakfast had hot food and the usual items. I would stay here again.

The air conditioner kick off and sounded like a dump truck coming through the room. Room #403! We had drove all day and asked for a quiet room. Boy did we not get it! Bags of trash in the hallway. The room could really use remodeling!

1st I want to say that most of the staff are very nice but are frustrated with the problems at this hotel. 1. Room was not cleaned well - Microwave was not touched, found old food behind the drapes and under bed, drawers in bathroom had things left by people, items behind the night stands from previous customers, rugs are stained, dishes & pans not cleaned well so had to re-wash all the dishes. 2. Why would you ever make a hotel where people are going to cook not have garbage disposals? This is literally the first Residence Inn where I ever have seen this. Food is allowed to go down the drain and backs up frequently. People have to put their left over food in trash bags and they are lined up and down the hallways smelling horrible. In fact my microwave someone had set something on fire and the glass and whole inside was burned up. 3. No air conditioning in any hallway or in the elevator and with temperatures in the high 90's & humidity levels over 100% it makes it miserable to have to walk very far in the hallways. This also is causing the food to smell bad sitting in the hallway. 4. The studios have the TV/dresser facing the bed and there is barely room to walk between end of bed and dresser. They need to move this horizontal on the outside wall where there is a huge space available. Spinner that holds TV was not working and had to put a glass next to it so it would stay where I put it. 5. The pillows were awful! I stay at Marriott all the time and love their pillows that are soft (usually) these are like old cotton batting and are very lumpy. As a road warrior and Platinum Elite with Marriott I would not want to stay here again unless the owner/manager addresses some of these issues.
