Despite a nice welcome and the Leeds city centre location of the Discovery Inn this accommodation was disappointing in almost all aspects of my stay. The Inn does not have a bar or restaurant (serves continental breakfast in the lobby only at extra cost). On the way to the room I noticed the old and stained carpets and tired paintwork, the lift had a disgusting smell during the whole stay. The room I was allocated did not have a view of the outside, it had frosted glass on both windows which did not open beyond a letterbox gap, so you had no idea if it was raining or not for example (the hotel should inform guests of this). The room and bathroom had decorative order issues in this case a massive hole in the wall and many places mildew and stains in the bathroom. The television was so small it was hard to watch though the Wi-FI was very good however do not expect air conditioning or a fan. The room benefited from one hard wooden chair in front of small impractical desk space. The compact corridor-like bathroom was very dated in terms of décor, required a good clean and the noise from the extractor fan was annoying.

On Friday 8th July, we were booked for three nights at the Campinile Wakefield. We have stayed at this hotel before & whilst it's not the best, it's handy for work stayovers. Arriving on the Friday night (8th), We immediately noticed that a lot of Motor bikes were parked up in the hotel car park, not an issue apart from the fact the bikes were all occupying car bays which I felt was totally inconsiderate & we were lucky to get a space. More annoyingly, the back end of the car park was closed off for no visible reason which was ridiculous when the hotel was so busy. We collected our keys which was after 2100hrs, taking the first flight of outdoor stairs, we noticed large groups of males all over the walk ways, talking loud, smoking & shouting. Once in our room, showered & unpacked , we could clearly hear the noise from outside on the walkway below. We rang reception twice this night, the noise was unacceptable, their security came over twice. So onto the saturday night, again returning from work after 2100hrs these groups of males again outside shouting, smoking & watching stuff on their laptops. Another of our friends who was staying over, went to reception to complain, the receptionist said Security would come over, the noise continued and when we went to see what was happening, unbelievably, the Security were stood with the males, all watching a boxing match on a laptop, laughing & carrying on, when asked why the house was still going on, we were told there was only a few rounds left, not acceptable from security. We've never experienced anything like it, absolutely disgusting and no consideration for anyone else in the hotel. Returning on the Sunday evening, we noticed the males were using the closed off area of the car park to play football. No idea what goes on at this hotel but it's a disgrace and I guarantee they have lost our custom. Would we recommend this hotel, 100% NO.

My two sisters and I ( all of very mature years) spent an overnight spa break at this lovely hotel.Our room was excellent - lots of space with a roomy en suite . The beds were very comfortable. The views from the windows were amazing - over the lovely lakeside and park estate. The facilities are very good - swimming pool with sauna and steam-room plus jacuzzi. The spa treatments were good. Our evening meal was great ( particularly the fish pie) as was the full breakfast next morning. The final word is about the staff . Brilliant. Nothing too much trouble. Manager Chris ensured we were able to check in early and special thanks go to him . Other reception staff and those in Charlie’s bar were also excellent .

I wish I could review the hotel and restaurant separately because I'd give 4/5 for the hotel and 0/5 for the restaurant. The one positive shared by both was very friendly and helpful staff. They can't be faulted. The hotel room was good and much like as in the photos. The quality of the room wasn't quite as expected, e.g. cheaply decorated and the window surrounds were pretty dirty, but it was fine and made a reasonable alternative to a Premier Inn. Unfortunately the food in the restaurant was dire. Alarm bells rang when I saw the menu - that many dishes and meat at that price doesn't bode well. I played safe and had a veggie lassagne but it had a nasty, ”dark” background taste. The accompanying salad was fine but needed a dressing or just some oil because it was bone dry. 2/5 for dinner. The breakfast selection was limited and a cooked breakfast is clearly the thing here. After cereals I had scrambled eggs on toast. After a very long wait (which was odd because the only other customer received their breakfast long before us), I was given the worst scrambled eggs I've ever seen. The white & yolk weren't properly mixed so there were yellow and white swirls, and the eggs were horrendously overcooked. They were solid. To compund things, the toast under the scrambled eggs wasn't buttered. I'm not a fussy eater but a slab of hard eggs on dry toast is impossible to enjoy. How can anyone get scrambled eggs on toast so wrong? 0/5 for breakfast. Sadly, it will be the PremierInn for me next time because the restaurant was dire and the hotel would have to be amazing to compensate for having to drive somewhere else to eat.

Like all other easy hotels, there are no desks, no chairs inside the room. But I can’t complain about a room at this price. I simply had food by the window I sat down on the floor. The room was clean enough. It is strategically located. It’s only roughly a 10 minute easy walk (just walk straight down the road!) from the coach and the train station. I thought they would charge for luggage storage, but they didn’t! Gave me a tag right away. Such a lovely reception!

The room I stayed with my friends is lovely and the staff are extremely helpful and have gone above and beyond. We could ask for any more and this will be the place we will stay in on future trips to Leeds. Thank you to staff for making the experience the best!

We stayed at this hotel overnight during our trip to Peak District and Yorkshire. We booked this hotel due to my Accor All membership and we had minimal expectations considering this is an Ibis Budget hotel. The hotel is at the edge of the city but very central, only a few minutes walk to the main city centre. It seemed quite new/recently furbished and the rooms were simple but had all the necessities. The lobby is really nicely decorated and the staff are really welcoming and enthusiastic. Here are a few more details on my visit: Welcome: The reception staff was very efficient. It literally took 2 minutes to get our room keys. We were welcomed with a recognition of my Accor All status and offered free welcome drinks. The room was ready and waiting for us. Room: The room is simple but allowed us to stay comfortably as 3 people. The room was clean and there were tea/coffee making facilities, hangers and towels. I only felt the need to have a small table or something to put our stuff on since there was only a small amount of space that you can use as table top but it is a really minor improvement overall. Dining: Our stay included breakfast. The breakfast was nice and included many different options. However, there were hot ”English breakfast” style food. It really didn't matter since there are still boiled eggs and lots of options. I really enjoyed our breakfast. Location: While the hotel is really central, there are parking available around the hotel. We used the on street parking on the back street with a bit of worry for the safety of the car over night but it was ok. The hotel also has its own car park but it is 8£ overnight. Staff: Really friendly. They accommodated our needs at the best level service. I couldn't ask for a better staff. Overall, great hotel to stay when you are in Sheffield. Since the hotel is a budget hotel, you should have low expectations while arriving. But I'm sure it will go above and beyond your expectations when you are there.

Got a Groupon deal at only £79 for a double en-suite with breakfast and a bottle of Prosecco. The reception staff were very helpful and even got a free upgrade with a nicer room including soft drinks and 2 Kit Kats with great views overlooking the canal and late check out too. We parked nearby at Leeds dock about 10 minutes walk away as we have done before at a reduced rate of £8 for 24 hours. Nice modern hotel in a great location with free quick wifi and close to Leeds city centre with a couple of bars on the doorstep.

On arrival the receptionist gave a a complimentary upgrade to a suite, very nice indeed. The breakfast service was excellent fresh cooked and plenty of choice. We will stay again
