Riverwind Inn Bed and Breakfast

Mike and Stacie are wonderful friendly hosts. You feel so welcome and their home is beautiful. It reflects the love and kindness they put into the fabulous accommodations and the 5 star breakfast. We have stayed there a few times and never want to leave. I would recommend this lovely place anytime of the year. Within the friendly little town of Deep River to the neighboring towns of Essex and Old Saybrook you can find so much to do. Definitely a diamond of a place to stay. Donna & Ed Monahan

Such a charming place! Took my mom for an overnight not too far from where she resides. Just as we pulled in, Mike greeted us by name and had me bring the car up right in front so my 97-year old mom didn’t have to walk far. We were captivated by the colonial elegance of this 1854 inn which was so beautifully decorated for Christmas. Our room was spacious and bright with all the amenities (toiletries, water). The bed was very comfortable with plush comforter, pillows and linens. Loved the fireplace in the common sitting room. Breakfast by Stacie was scrumptious—fresh fruits, frittata and blueberry muffins along with coffee and tea. I would stay there again in a heartbeat and have been spreading the good word to other friends in New England. Thank you, Mike and Stacie.

Very lovely home with great attention to historic theme. Well-appointed, spotlessly clean rooms, filled with everything one might need. Warm and inviting hosts, amazing and delicious breakfast, reasonable cost. Loved the relaxing room with working fireplace! Would absolutely visit again.

Wonderful experience. The inn is charming, our room was comfortable and quiet, and the innkeepers are pros who made everyone feel welcome while juggling the specific quirks and preferences of a constantly changing roster of guests. It's worth seeking out and worth visiting again.

Stacie and Mike have done an excellent job of making sure every little detail was taken care of. The place is beautiful and my daughter and I had a wonderful time. We wanted to move in, lol. The Christmas decorations were up and it was like being in a Hallmark movie.

Riverwind is as lovely and inviting within as it is from outside. After years of driving by on my way to visit my brother in Deep River, I finally had the occasion to stay at this beautifully kept inn. I noticed the earnest pre-visit questions about the purpose of my visit to the area, and the precise questions about my tastes in breakfast fare. I learned that those questions reflected and informed the genuine interest that Mike and Stacie show in their guests. He made sure I knew where the fresh coffee would be available from 6:30AM onward. He persuaded me that a good breakfast would help get me through a long day of dealing with my brother's insurance company. And yes - the breakfast was spectacular - especially the locally grown and smoked bacon and the amazing Belgian waffles. Riverwind deserves its excellent reputation and multiple awards. I'll be back - the next time my brother's guest room is unavailable - and preferably when it's warm enough to enjoy the lovely back garden.
