What an absolutely amazing experience, highly recommend , we are staying here now and had the most amazing welcome , the staff and especially the Manager Mel has been truly outstanding, my husband had the steak pie with freshly prepared vegetables, was the best he had ever had ! I really enjoyed my succulent lamb pan fried with vegetables and the Cornish potatoes were so delicious. Mel makes you feel so welcome, so professional and a brilliant manager. The views are to die for like off a film set ! A quirky find ! And a fantastic place to explore the area . It’s under new ownership and I’m sure you will not be disappointed 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩

I left here feeling completely ripped off! Its a shame as we used to be regulars here and called the other day. I ordered two pints of Morretti and a lemonade and lime for our driving family member. We were charged £3.45 for the lemonade and £1.10 for a splash of lime, YES £1.10 for the smallest splash. The Morretti was £6.20 a pint which is bad enough. What a complete rippoff. The lime cordial must be the most expensive drink in the place probably £200 a bottle if they charge £1.10 for a splash! The bar staff said the prices were set by the owners but they don't need to rip off there valued customers like this. No wonder some of these pubs are quiet these days and change hands every other year. £16.95 for two pints and a soft drink! Unfortunately we won't be visiting any more and we are local Stop ripping your customers off!

Walked along the beach from Seaton and decided to stop here for lunch. The friendly staff, great food and well kept beer meant that this was a good choice. Good portion sizes and reasonable prices If we visit the area again we will definitely be coming back.

Stayed here for a night away with my partner in January 2024. We met the young couple who have recently taken over and they are absolutely amazing. Made us feel welcome the entire time and was incredibly helpful with everything we needed. Our room looked out onto the beautiful sea adjacent to the pub. Gorgeous room with a sweet little bag full of useful goodies like toothbrush, shoe polish etc. The entire place looks recently refurbished it’s beautiful, everywhere was so clean, it was perfect. THE FOOD. Wow is was absolutely delicious, I had the chicken schnitzel , my partner had chicken wings and calamari rings, and it was all outstanding. Good selection of beers and spirits. There was a band playing the night we stayed, great music and a great atmosphere full of all different people. Beautiful outside and inside, can not fault this place, will definitely be back soon!! Lovely stay. Staff couldn’t be more welcoming and friendly. This was our 2nd visit and we’ll definitely be returning.

We have previously stayed here before in room 6-7, which we were very pleased with sea views out of both windows .this time, we had a smaller double room 2-3 due to no availability for the king-size room we were assured that it was a sea view, which it was if you stood at the side window to look . the room was clean but is in need of redecoration walls and paintwork a bit shabby .the other thing was no tv control we at to do it on the tv which was annoying. They dont offer any of the well known lagers or ciders on draught only Madri and a very dry cider.we found the staff and food to be very nice and would return if they refurbished and offered more choice of drinks .

We only ate there. Delicious selection of starters. Lola was brilliant, she needs a tip! Beware yapplng dogs, my son has a spaniel who iis nicely mute in company. Other dogs not so polite. How much more do you need? To repeat. Food great, service great. Thoroughly enjoyable experience. Gasp.

Firstly, let me say that my wife and I have been coming here for years…. It has always marked the beginning and sometimes end, for nearly all our Cornish exploits over the last decade or so. The fact is, we have visited here time and time again, returned home and forever extoled its wonderful location, food, sunsets and idyllic “holiday” charm to no end of family and friends who, in turn, have felt it necessary to see what the fuss was all about (and wholeheartedly agreed upon their return). This year, we decided to take a rather “later than normal” Cornish break over the first week in October, purely down to my frankly ridiculous work constraints. We booked “The Inn on the Shore” as both our first and last night destination, whilst staying at a favourite “very nice” hotel further down the coast for the week in between. Our first night’s stay was spot on! The weather not quite so, but it didn’t matter because my wonderful wife and I were together, on holiday, in our most favourite county in the world. The staff were attentive, we had a great dinner, the room was very much on point, and we went to sleep with the sound of the sea almost lapping at our window…. Perfect! We then spent a fantastic week in Cornwall before returning to the Inn for our last holiday night….. This was an absolute disaster! We had confirmed our booking two days before with the Inn and also booked a table for dinner that night as we did not want to go anywhere else, having driven for a few hours that afternoon. However, when we arrived (4:30pm), ready to enjoy the sunset of yet another superb late summer day, we were informed that our room had “very unfortunately” been let to another couple by a staff member who was not aware of our booking and there would consequently be no room for us that night!! The duty manager went to discuss the situation with the other couple (which we already suspected would be fruitless) and indeed on his return stated that they had “already settled into the room and were not prepared to leave”. We were then very much left on our own to sort out alternative accommodation at the end of a very warm, perfect, late summer’s evening when everybody else in Cornwall seemed to be doing exactly the same thing. The duty manager told us that he’d phoned “The Smuggler’s Inn” in Seaton and another place across the road to see if they had any rooms, but they were full and we would “therefore need to find a room ourselves” as he had no further suggestions or indeed the time to help us. He did add that we would be getting a full refund for the room, but we essentially had to sort out the Inn's booking fiasco ourselves. They provided us with a drink “on the house” as we dejectedly sat on the patio trying to find anywhere that still had a room for the night, but I really don’t think that went anywhere near an apology for what we went through. It really seemed at one point that our only option was to drive the 250 miles home, which I was really in no mind to do. For

Just returned home from a 3 night stay here. The location is perfect and the staff very friendly. We ate in the bar every night and the food was lovely as was the breakfast daily. Would definitely recommend. The corridors needed some restoration however for a 3 star hotel it exceeded expectations.
