Joy Island Maldives by Cocoon Collection

We had an unforgettable stay at the resort! The excellent room service, especially thanks to Ahu, made our experience exceptional. The food was delicious, with the tiramisu being the best we've ever had and the chocolate night an excellent touch. The handmade ravioli was exquisite, and the prosecco sent to our room was the perfect finishing touch. All these wonderful details made our stay truly memorable. We can't wait to return!

Our 6th visit to the maldives, each time at different all inclusive resorts. Joy island is relatively new (Sept 2023) so all the facilities are brand new and everything is immaculate. We used a good amount of the facilities and were very impressed with them all. Spa, scuba diving, watersports gym etc. The dive boat is great, loads of space and not busy when we attended, we were the only two divers. The paddle boards are great, proper solid boards not the inflatable ones that a lot of resorts have, these were significantly better. On arrival we were assigned a personal concierge, Ashraf, he was very helpful and our go to point of contact if we needed anything. He always responded quickly and efficiently. The food here is excellent, the concept of the market restaurant is great, essentially a lot of live cooking stations, they also make their own cheese which was a real novelty and treat. Manisha at the pasta station was great, every day new dishes and the pasta always perfectly Al dente, always smiling too. A real credit to the resort. Service was also very good and Naahil looked after us for most of our stay, was always on top of drinks etc. We stayed in a beach suite on the sunset side of the island. This is defiantly the “nicer” side with calm waters and all day sun. The all incluse package was fairly extensive, although one odd thing was we had prosecco included at all the bars but not during meal times. We ate the paella lunch at Palm Beach, which is a lovely setting down by the water, but it was just paella and ice cream, which sort of felt like a downgrade from the selection at the Market. Only slight negative would be the noise from the evening entertainment carries across the water. We could hear the music in our villa and the entertainment is from 2200-0000 which would not be ideal if you wanted an early night. There are two other restaurants and we would have liked to have tried the pizzeria, but there is no credit applied from the AI package, so it just didn’t make sense to dine there when the selection was so good at the Markeyt. Overall a really good experience at Joy, and once the island matures it will be really great.

Everything was so perfect ! Brand new hôtel , we stayed in the pilotis bungalow with private pool, it was paradise to us! We ordered the floating breakfast it was beautiful and delicious! From the room we swam to the coral reef and enjoyed many kind of colorful fishes ! The food was excellent, lots of choice and very fresh. Always fresh fish, seafood, tartare, Carpaccio and many more.. The staff is very helpful, kind and everybody is so sweet and smiley ! Spécial mention to our concierge and island host Shify❤️ Such a sweet lady who took care of us like vip from the begining to the end of our stay. We Will definitely go back! Thank you for this dream vacation!

Wow! Nervous when we booked this “new” island - but we were overwhelmingly impressed! From the moment we arrived at male - whisked straight off to awaiting speedboat - smooth ride on nice big comfy boat for the 40 minute ride to Joy Island. It is new - so not as green as many - welcomed at jetty by lots of staff and taken great care of there on in. Neen was allocated to take care of us throughout our trip - she was in regular contact updating us on daily happenings at resort and often on hand as we went to dinner or for drinks. Our room as requested - was very close to the house reef - which was great! Not many people mention this - but full of life plus sharks, sting rays etc. the shower also overlooked the ocean! So great views from shower and bedroom! And a lovely big deck with chairs and loungers. Only negative here - the rose wine in mini bar was $95 dollars a bottle?! Soft drinks complimentary. The beach and sunbed areas and pool are all lovely and regularly tidied and comfortable with drinks on hand. The restaurant- wow - calling it “market” I feel is a big mistake - the food is incredible! And service too - Anup and Anj took great care of us in there. so much choice and all top quality - fruit cut fresh for you at fruit counter, chicken & beef or lamb - also cooked fresh for you - as were all the counters - loads of salad choices, about 30 types of bread! amazing pasta station - again all cooked fresh - and lady here very good! the desert cold room - very dangerous!!! all utterly delicious! they make everything themselves even the buratta - the wine choices at dinner all great too. i would have liked cheese counter at dinner in evenings, but only every other few days? i dont drink a huge amount- and on previous trips to maldives all inclusive - ive loved the milk shakes - but these weren't available on all inclusive?! apart from the amazing food!!! the trips at water sports made this trip unforgettable! the guide's and drivers of boats were all great - especially Ahmed raisham - he took us on turtle and coral garden trip - the best coral we have ever seen!!! And then swimming with sharks!!! Expensive at $300 pp - but worth every penny!!! Trip of a lifetime!!! We will be back!!!

It’s an amazing once in a lifetime experience, special thanks to our island host Chau who took care of everything. It was my fiancé birthday we wanted to celebrate and it was splendid. Staff was extremely friendly and warm, they’ve surprised us with a cake which felt really special 😊

Ayu and Cecilia gave great body massages. I was so relaxed and we fell asleep. Very friendly staff, would highly recommend. They make sure to greet you always and offer to help you in any way they can. Very attentive and genuinely lovely people.

Our stay at Joy Island was simply the best. Beautiful villas, perfect weather and amazing views, delicious food, friendly staff, and great fellow guests made our stay delightful. All the staff were kind to us, but especially Habeeb, who accompanied us on several excursions. Thanks to your positive attitude, we were always laughing and happy throughout our stay at Joy Island. Naajih, our housekeeper, surprised and delighted us every day with creatively arranged towels and leaves in our room. Because of him, our stay was even more enjoyable. We don't know his name, but the friend who cuts fruit at the market every evening made our meals fun. We will never forget his innocent and lovely smile. Lastly, beautiful Dita, who greeted us with a smile every morning, made sure we started each day with joy. If we plan another trip to the Maldives, we will definitely choose Joy Island again and recommend it to others. Something we found challenging, it was the boat transfer, as I'm not good with boats. Also we were disappointed with the service of our assigned butler, Dave. He was not friendly to us, so we tried to minimize our interactions with him and became closer with the other staff instead. Other than that, everything was perfect. We are very satisfied.

The heavens opened up big time today and what better time than now to spoil the body, relax and have a massage, it was so devine👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼The Balinese massage is an absolute must have and my therapist Ayu was amazing and so helpful. I highly recommend

We were on the island at the beginning of May. A beautiful, clean, new island. Our helper was CHAU. He is a very kind, attentive and helpful person. I can only say good things about it. The food is fantastic, tasty and varied. The villas are beautiful. they clean twice a day, their own pool is also cleaned daily. The environment, the beach, the services are all perfect. thank you CHAU! we'll be back!
