my stay at sinq edge began on a disappointing note. upon arrival, i requested the receptionist to arrange a room with two separate beds, as i was traveling with my cameraman. initially, the receptionist was accommodating and started looking into the arrangements. however, his senior abruptly intervened and flatly announced that such a room was unavailable. when i pointed out that his junior was already making arrangements, the senior informed me that it would cost an additional ₹1,000-2,000 per night beyond what we had paid. when we asked to see the room before making a decision, he refused, claiming it wasn’t clean, even though we were checking in more than an hour after their prescribed check-in time. we requested to see the room once it was ready, but despite staying for five nights, he never showed us the room. his reasons remain unclear—was it because he assumed we wouldn’t be able to pay the extra charge? additionally, i was carrying some theplas with me. one evening, i asked the restaurant attached to the hotel if they could warm the theplas for me. they categorically refused, citing their policy of not allowing outside food. i wasn’t even planning to eat it in the restaurant—it was just a simple request to warm the food. even five-star hotels accommodate such requests for their guests, so this response felt unnecessarily rigid and unwelcoming.
