Geejam hotel is a great hotel nestled away in the hills of Port Antonio. It’s a long ride from the airport but the hotel arranged our transportation services easily via email. Upon arrival check in was easy and the room was clean. The food was good and meals were easy (we wish they had cake and salt fish for breakfast). The only issue was that the hotel did not have an actual beach, however, Frenchman’s cove is a short 20 minute walk or 3 minute drive away. Winnifred beach is also great and worth the trip. Would stay again.

My wife and I stayed at Geejam for three nights at the start of February. This was the third time we have been to Jamaica but the first time to Port Antonio. This is such a special part of the island with so many wonderful places to visit and Geejam is such an amazing place to stay. The hotel vibe is unique and very comfortable. We had the pleasure of meeting Steve Beaver, the co-owner who gave us a tour of the recording studio which is the centre of everything Geejam. It was incredible to just be in the space where so many amazing artists have written and recorded work right there in Jamaica. We I hope will return one day. Thanks Steve and all the staff!

Geejam is an excellent hide out hotel in Portland with spacious and tastefully decorated rooms with views of the mountains on one side and a view of the bay/ocean to the other. The staff were all friendly and provided great service overall as well as with linking us with local guides for excursions. The food at the restaurant is seriously good, especially the Jamaican breakfast. That salt mackerel is next level good. We got to see the studio and learned about some really interesting stories and history of the studio which we enjoyed very much. The vibe was super chill with everyone there I would stay again for sure. Also, Portland is just amazingly beautiful with Geejam being pretty centrally located to all the top attractions. It’s on a hill, so there are a lot of steps especially from the private beach back up to the hotel. Make sure your ACL is good before going to the beach.

First of all Portland is THE place to visit in Jamaica. The beaches are glorious, Frenchman’s Cove & Winnifreds are perfection. There’s rafting and the Blue Lagoon, but our favourite thing to do was paddle boarding from Gee Jam beach. Its feels like you’re in the most beautiful place in the world. Gee Jam is the jewel in the crown of this area and you’re sure to have a fabulous time whichever accommodation you choose. The hotel rooms are gorgeous and the villas are exceptional. We’ve been coming for years and we like all the rooms we’ve stayed in so couldn’t choose one. The staff are brilliant, so friendly you feel like part of the family. There was an event at the Bushbar when we’re there so there was a real buzz around the place and the band that was on was great. You can rely on the music and food being top notch here which makes a huge difference. As usual we didn’t want to leave and a week is never long enough but we’ll definitely return to this magical place.

My daughters and I escaped to Port Antonio from the city to enjoy a few days and stayed at GeeJam. The staff, from arrival to departure, were extremely friendly and helpful. The room accommodations were spacious and comfortable, and it was serene to sit on the balcony to have breakfast with a view of the sea. We befriended the co-owner, Steve who was kind to include us in a tour of the recording studio on the property, and who introduced us to “ting-a-ling”, a concoction of rum and ting, a local soda. Interesting! We had an enjoyable time and would recommend visitors to the island to stay at this hotel, located in the beautiful and scenic parish of Portland, known locally as “Porty.”

We loved our relaxing stay. Friendly staff, lovely food, beautiful large balcony, bedroom and bathroom all with excellent art and a very comfy bed. Portland beaches, rafting, waterfalls etc in easy reach. Great to tour the recording studio too!

Although I didn’t stay at the hotel, the wedding party and I joined Geejam for dinner and drinks at this stunning location. I had a refreshing piña colada paired with rice and peas, a fresh salad, and delicious lamb shanks everything was absolutely delicious. The atmosphere was equally impressive, with a pool table and stylish bar on one side and a breathtaking view of the ocean. (though my phone couldn’t quite capture its beauty) on the other. It was a memorable evening, and I highly recommend it for both the food and the scenery!

This is a gem of Port Antonio. I accidentally found this place after a long drive from MoBay. This place was P E R F E C T I O N. The staff were superbly welcoming, kind, accommodating and overall great. The grounds were clean, well maintained up to date and spectacularly beautiful and one immediately gets a sense of peace and tranquility. The rooms are quite large, clean, eclectically decorated and beautiful. I did not get to enjoy this gem but it incentivized the planning of my next trip. You definitely need a car. It was not easy to find, so if driving on your own, use the San San police station as a landmark and continue driving to the top. I am not one to easily rate anything 5 stars, and this place certainly deserves a 10 out of 5 stars. One should not be disappointed.
