The manager Hardip at this hotel is very kind, thoughtful and service oriented. His kind and attentive breakfast/morning wait staff (5 or 6) take very good care of you. He does not rush you through breakfast and lets you linger well past the breakfast hour in the bar to continue any conversation and coffee! Breakfast is nice - hot and cold options and the coffee is good. The hotel itself is functional - and they are building a spa that I hear is opening soon.

Probably the smallest room we have ever stayed in, although it was very tired with frayed curtains it was spotlessly clean. The shower was brilliant. Breakfast was a buffet with good choice and the food was very hot. The wifi didn’t work and the receptionist didn’t seem very interested. The real let down was the staff. The breakfast staff were not very friendly and when we left we weren’t even asked if we enjoyed our stay. Shame.

We had a lovely overnight stay on Saturday and entertainment was excellent singer that was on was John Scott we also had a lovely breakfast in the Sunday morning. It was a pity the swimming pool/ spa was still closed will be lovely when it's open

This place was an overpriced hotel 6. Very basic, no air conditioning, no safe, no fridge, carpet was dirty upon entry, areas were under construction, and hammering noise began at 7:30am.....not even kleenex in the room? I only gave it the next to lowest rating because the employees were nice.

I booked the Cairndale for my mother's funeral tea and stayed two nights with my wife and three kids. Dumfries is full of good and kind people, and the staff at the Cairndale exemplify this. The initial visit to scout out potential venues for the funeral tea was handled with professionalism and sympathy, setting the tone for the booking and the event itself. The conference room was elegant, and the buffet was delicious. The team working on the event was lovely, and there was nothing that was too much trouble for them. I'm grateful for them making a difficult day easier. The hotel stay continued this theme. The rooms were very comfortable and well-decorated. The food was great, and I particularly enjoyed the Scottish breakfast. However, the staff were the real highlight. In particular, Hardip, the duty manager, and Douglas in the reception were just brilliant at helping us out with a couple of requests. Everyone was warm and friendly and seemed to be genuinely going out of their way to make our stay comfortable. When I lived in Dumfries, the Cairndale was always the best hotel, and it seems that it is keeping its crow!

Location of the hotel is very central in Dumfries. Excellent service especially breakfast. Deepak was very friendly and helpful. He knows the area well. Other staff were polite and helpful as well. I enjoyed my stay and am frequent traveller to Dumfries.

Very nice clean and tidy friendly staff and very helpful room was great and bed was super comfortable food was brilliant and close by to the town centre will be back again next time will stay longer this is the best hotel in Dumfries and Galloway

Excellent two night entertainment package at a great price. The food was lovely and the staff were all very nice and helpful. Special mention to Hardip Atwal who made sure we got everything we needed and looked after us really well. The entertainment evening was fun and the band were great. Would definitely recommend 👍. Would have liked a bit more toiletry storage space in the bathroom but everything else was perfect.

We had a lovely stay at the hotel! The room was very spacious and clean and the food was delicious. We could park the car directly behind the hotel. We had a warm welcome and definitely looking forward to come back when their new spa is ready. Special thanks to Fiona and Hardip.
