Carrickdale Hotel & Spa

We just got back from an amazing stay at the Carrickdale Hotel, We stayed from Tuesday to Friday, two adults and two kids, and honestly, it was one of the best hotel experiences we've ever had. First off, the location is fantastic—nestled right between the beautiful Mourne mountains. The place is beautiful, clean and well-maintained, and the grounds are just gorgeous. There's a lovely secret garden cafe where we had some of the best pizzas, burgers, and coffee. It's such a cozy spot! Our first night, we ate in the hotel's restaurant, and it was fantastic. Shout out to Caroline, our waitress, who was so friendly and great with our kids. She made us feel right at home and nothing was too much trouble for her. The leisure center was a big hit with all of us. They provide robes and slippers so you can comfortably walk from your room to the pool, and towels are ready for you there. Such nice touches! There's also a mini-golf course and a cute little playground in the garden. Our kids had a blast and were entertained the whole time. On our last day, we tried the food in the bar, and once again, it didn't disappoint. Everything was delicious, and the service was spot on. Prices were very reasonable too, which is always a plus. As someone with coeliac disease, I was thrilled with the gluten-free options available everywhere, even in the garden cafe. They had a gluten-free pizza option, which is pretty rare to find. Breakfasts were a highlight with choices like full Irish, vegetarian, gluten-free options, and even a healthy breakfast salad. The kids loved the pancakes! Times for breakfast are 7 - 11 which gave us SO much time without once having to panic or rush down for breakfast! It's also cooked fresh to order - no cold eggs or soggy sausages!! The rooms were spacious and comfy, with a shower and jacuzzi bath. The temperature was perfect, not too hot or cold. We felt so relaxed and at home. Overall, the Carrickdale Hotel has such a friendly atmosphere. Everyone we met was smiling and happy to help with anything we needed. It truly felt like a home away from home. It's real old school Irish hospitality that is often lacking in most places these days! I wish we could have stayed longer, and I can't recommend this place enough. If you're looking for a family-friendly, welcoming, and beautiful hotel, this is it!

Absolutely beautiful hotel the room was fablous beds so comfortable pillow like clouds food amazing and every member of staff so so nice the pool facilities were perfe t great night in this hotel would definitely recommend highly to all my friends and family thank you carrickdale

We had our wedding in the Carrickdale, David and his team made our wedding such a great and stress free day. The hotel and staff are 5* A big plus was the stunning gardens! Our photos were amazing with the gorgeous grounds in them! Our guests still talk about the food and service in the Carrickdale…thanks so much for making our day perfection!

Very busy hotel with Ulster Irish Dancing championships. Got a room in the older part. Clean and good standard room. Could change the shower mat though as I wouldn’t chance it. Great breakfast. Brilliant staff. The prices in the bar were a bit stiff. Guinness @€6.10 and a packed of tayto crisps - wait for it - €1.80. €1.80!!! 4 Stars shouldn’t give you a right to ride the clients folks! Good location for shopping in Newry, Banbridge, Kilkeel. Accommodation is a bit expensive - if you think you’ll be in a ‘+’ with it and savings in alcohol in Newry, think again. You might break even. Handy though if you want a night away from home. It is an excellent hotel though. Food is very good in the bar. I had the Steak burger and herself a chicken yokeymabob. Service was excellent. A lot of staff training went in here. I’ll be back, but won’t be having Tayto. :-)

We stayed at Carricdale Hotel & Spa for our wedding anniversary, and we had a wonderful time. From start to finish, the staff ensured that our time at the hotel was extra-special - including surprising us with a room upgrade! Our spa treatments were lovely and relaxing, food at the restaurant and Secret Garden was delicious, and the service across the baord was second-to-none. The gardens themselves are beautiful and well-maintained, and provide a lovely view when relaxing in the hot tub! So glad we decided to stay here, and will definitely be back.

Our second trip to this hotel, the secret garden is absolutely amazing so make sure you check it out. Also give the mini crazy golf a go too. Outdoor hot tub is a lovely touch as it overlooks the beautiful garden.Dinner was tasty. Breakfast pastries were all a bit dry but that was the only downside of our stay.
