We checked in late and receptionist was very efficency + friendly.I had rang earlier in the day to say we would be arriving later.Reception asked what time as food finished being served at 9pm.I was happy to know this + we stopped on route as our arrival time was due to be 9 30.We had a lovely spacious room and enjoyed a few drinks in the bar
Only small quip: barman didn't let the Guinness settle before top up.Told me "that will be grand in a few minutes" To me that indicates he knew he should wait.Tasted lovely!
Did ask what type of tonic I would like for gin which I was happy about

It was a truly lovely stay as always. The only comment I would make is about the hot tub outside. It’s a pity it’s so grubby. Everything else was perfect and the new restaurant was ace! Loved every bite and what great service

Everything was spotless. Heating not adjusted to account for the freezing weather outside. Bar and restaurant quite chilly. Staff were lovely and the food was delicious

Lovely homely hotel. Loved the swimming pool. Lovely dining area. Breakfast was tasty. Had lovely room very spacious and comfy bed. This was our fourth visit love it

We stayed in the Balymascanlon, for one night last November, and were delighted to return , with my sister and her husband. From the moment you walk , in the door, it feels warm, and the Christmas decorations are amazing.
The rooms were excellent, and the food in the main dining room was also excellent.
The service , everywhere was first class. I would stronghly recommend this hotel.

We loved the homey-ness of this property. Loved the daily fires and lots of cozy sitting spaces. The food options were great, very tasty with reasonable variety. Very centrally located.
