Warm and welcoming, clean cosy room - even has Netflix! Very friendly staff. Lovely old building with pretty gardens. Small choice for evening meals, but it was tasty and fresh, we had the snug to ourselves like a private dining experience. Breakfast was delicious, plenty of cereals and yogurt choices, freshly brewed coffee and a tasty Full English. Would definitely stay again.

Very nice stay all staff made us very welcome lovely room with a view lovely food breakfast and dinner dog friendly which we loved must not forget their friendly dog lots of parking lovely grounds a great place to stay for Scarborough and surrounding areas thanks Ced Stella

Just back from overnight stay bought for us by a family member.A truly welcoming Host on reception.All members of staff working were very attentive.Lovely warm Cosy rooms.Excellent Breakfast and Evening meal.Would highly recommend this little gem of a place in Gods own County.Thanks to Andrea who dealt with this stay on behalf of our Brother in law. Will definitely be back .Looking forward to a relaxing enjoyable stay again. Many Thanks.Jeff and Glynis Griffiths

Disappointed! On arrival, checking In was quick with very little information given, when I asked about breakfast I was told she would tell me later. We had a garden room on the ground floor and on first inspection it appeared very comfortable, however the mattress needs replacing immediately, because it is 2 single mattress put together both sagged in the middle, the duvet was too small for the bed and was very thin. The pillows were hard and uncomfortable, I glad we took our own. As stated we were staying in the a garden room 27, number 34 was above us and the nose of cricky floorboads was unbelievable, the couple above would be moving around for hours at stupid hours 11pm to 1 am and 6am to 8am it was a nightmare and not very restful The bathroom was modern and clean, the shower was powerful however the drain could not keep up with the downpour of water, my partner removed the flitter and that improved the drainage. Our room was serviced on request but didn't leave enough toilet paper. We ate in the restaurant on the first night, basic food and we decided we would eat out afterwards, breakfast was good value for money and the quality was good. We have travelled to many hotels over the years and we have always had an open tab attached to our room, on this occasion we thought this would be the same until breakfast, when the waitress asked us to settle our bill from previous night meal along with breakfast, this I found rude as we had paid to stay in the hotel for 3 nights.

We had a lovely stay at Ayton Lodge the courtyard room was very comfortable and spotlessly clean with a nice en suite. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the hotel was very close to many attractions. We didn't have breakfast but we had an evening meal which was delicious.

Great stay, lovely area and close to usual tourist attractions, Whitby, Scarborough and North York Moors. Staff are friendly and welcoming, rooms are cosy, food very good. Great walks in the immediate area too. We will definitely return!

Had a few issues which I had made management aware of .I have to say I am very happy the manager refund my money back.Staff were helpful and cheerful. The location is beautiful Thank you to all the Staff.It was so nice to be able to bring things to the managers attention and know they are willing to take them onboard

We have passed this lodge many times and meant to give it a try. We recently booked in and was not disappointed. We found the staff very friendly and helpful . Breakfast was 10/10 light bits were acceptable, rooms very clean and comfortable. Most definitely will be staying here again. Ann,Reg,John N.Ireland

Came down for dinner in the second night and was told no food as there was a function on. As we had both had an alcohol drink in the garden we could not drive. We were told to walk to the next pub which was half an hours walk. Fortunately we got food there although it was busy. Up to this point the stay had been lovely but this certainly took the cream off it!
