Very friendly staff and a lovely hotel

Pleasant stay. Group of ladies for 40th birthday. Dinner and cocktail making class. Beer garden was lovely in the sunshine, cocktails and food tasty. Service from Dana in the restaurant and Euan cocktail making were fantastic. Rooms Comfortable.

Visited the Torrance Hotel Restaurant earlier this week for a family dinner. When we arrived we were seated quickly and informed that for drinks we would have to go to the bar to order. No issues there as there was a wedding on in the function suite so could understand it being busy. After getting my drink from the bar I noticed that the glass was dirty. Perhaps just not dried in the dishwasher properly but marks all over the glass wasn't a great start. A 40 minute wait followed before our server came to take our orders. The timings didn't get much better as we waiting almost an hour for our food to arrive at the table. Chicken Liver Parfait to begin. And it was probably the highlight of the meal. Fresh with good flavour and a slight tang from the onion chutney made for a good starter. A Chicken and Haggis Pie followed. A huge slab of Pastry crust that was overcooked and crumbled into 1000 pieces whenever touched covered the filling which was full of flavour and was good but did unfortunately have a layer of oil at the bottom of the dish which ruined the last few bites. The veg was as expected cooked and presented well but lacking flavour. No butter or cream in the mash left it quite dry. Have given 3 stars based on the fact there was a wedding on at the same time which has probably caused part of the delay and a slight drop on the food quality. We had a lovely celebration meal for a family birthday in the conservatory. The food was delicious and great value for money. All the staff were very friendly and couldn't have done more to make the visit special. Two of our party wandered through to the bar area which was really nice and we could have happily sat all afternoon. We will definitely be back.

We were ripped off with there black Friday afternoon tea coupons. After purchasing these over the last few years they have changed there terms. We feel very let down by the Torrance and after many years of being regular customers we will not be returning. They are more interested in profit. For the sake of ripping us off for £50 they will lose thousands in our future custom.

The hotel is very very nice. Staff very friendly and helpful and the evening meal I had was great. However my room had some '*******' which took the edge off a great visit. Firstly, I had a superior room, but the desk was quite small and full of 'stuff' work working on, the bathroom was lovely but incredibly cramped. Very little space to dry yourself without banging yourself. The bed was so hard it was a very restless night, I acknowledge beds are personal preference but this was very uncomfortable. Finally (the staff are aware) the beam of light at the foot of the bed, which cannot be turned off. I understand this is a safety light as there is a 3-4 inch step up to the bed area, therefore cannot be switched off. In the end I had to use towels and a coat to cover these up. Good stay, as I said but some ******* preventing me giving full marks

Room was compact, but to a high standard. Only thing annoying was that there was little space between the bad and wall, and regularly banged ankles on the frame of the bed. Will stay again though, as great location, and restaurant was good.

We had our wedding here on 24.02.2024, what can I say from start to finish the team were fantastic cannot fault them, from the planning right up until the day itself this team nailed it, a special shout out to Dominic our master of ceremony, he is an absolute credit to the Torrance team all of our guests loved him, Emily, Anya, Amy & Paula who helped me with my wedding dress at the end of the night were all amazing could not have done this without there help and professional manner, if anyone is thinking of this venue for their wedding, do it you will not be disappointed, Thanks so much Kenny & Sarah
