Smoketown Inn

I am a local working on a local business project with long days, so booked here for 3 nights. Great value for the money! Excellent staff and owners who were very helpful and nice to talk with. Other reviewers here gave an excellent picture of the place, hence why I booked. Some things I really liked: Nice to not stay in a chain hotel. Excellent hot water and shower pressure even though I was on the 2nd floor. Windows actually open (amazing!) and it was terrific to get fresh air. I brought my own weighted blanket- a personal choice- and glad I did. Refrigerator actually large enough to put things in it and use. (Most other places they are tiny and you can't get anything of substance in) If coming back I would most likely spring for carriage house since it was in the back and most likely a little more quiet. Because this hotel is off of the main drag of Route 30- it is a much quieter hotel. Highly recommend for that alone. My room was in the very front and while I didn't mind the minimal street noise - next time I would chose further back in the hotel if it is an option. Highest compliment I can pay - I would recommend Smoketown Inn to family and friends visiting Lancaster County!

Pleasant place to stay while visiting Lancaster. Centrally located, easy access to main roads and comfortable. Reasonable rates. Breakfast is coffee, tea and packaged pastries. We are not big breakfast eaters so this was fine for us. Would recommend!

We so enjoyed our stay at Smoketown Inn. The inn is charming, and our room was very clean, comfortable, and so quiet. We enjoyed eating our breakfast outside on the covered brick patio surrounded by a beautiful garden. The inn was pretty close to the Sight and Sound Theater, shopping and restaurants. The staff and owners were very pleasant and helpful.

When we arrived we welcomed by the owner. He gave us information on the area and let us know where everything was. He showed us to our room which was The Loft a two bedroom efficiency above the garage. We enjoyed our stay and accommodations. We plan on staying here again.

Smoketown Inn is a privately owned property. The owner takes great pride to present a well kept and clean property for travelers to enjoy. The property is immaculately manicured with a gazebo, sitting areas in the gardens under the huge old trees and under the porch as well as inside. We were looking for a place to stay for the weekend while going to some of the local theaters. I was believing I was not going to find a place under $200 a night. I have been past the Smoketown Inn numerous times and thought how pretty and regal it looked with the big pillars out front and thought it would be beyond our budget and an expensive place to stay. I was surprised when I checked and the room rate was $89 a night. The hotel is clean, our bathroom looked like it had just been remodeled, house keeping was there every day. The breakfast was nothing to get excited about but we usually go to a local restaurant that is our favorite in the area anyways. I would definitely stay here again without hesitation, it was a very enjoyable and could be a relaxing stay while sitting around in the gardens enjoying a bottle of wine with friends.

The Inn is a beautiful property. The rooms are comfortable and meticulously clean. The grounds are lovely. It’s perfectly situated for a trip to Amish country. There’s no elevator so ask for a first floor room if that’s an issue. A wonderful stay.

My wife and I stayed in many hotels in the Lancaster area over many years, but this was our first visit to this establishment. What a hidden gem! The room was really comfortable. The working gas fireplace with fan really heated up the room and made it cozy. Almost all of the lights had dimmer switches to allow you to set the mood. We had a very peaceful sleep and it was very quiet. The bed was comfortable and we enjoyed sitting on a nice brown leather love seat while we watched a show or two on a modern Vizio TV. The owners were very nice and accommodating, and even personally showed us to our room. This inn has the feel of a bed and breakfast — classy yet relaxed. We look forward to returning for another stay really soon!

Clean comfortable place. Quaint place to sit outside. Only improvement needed is better selection other than donuts for breakfast. Suggestion would be bread or bagels with a toaster and cartons of milk or chocolate milk or juice for the people not liking hot beverages will definitely be back

This was a very cute inn. When you walk in it's older but it doesn't make this a place to pass over. I had a standard room on the lower level and my mom said it reminded her of Inns in upstate new york she went to in the 70's. The beds are a bit smaller so it may not be ideal for taller or larger people in the same bed. My room had 2 beds so that perfect. I laughed and thought it was cool that this hotel actually had a key to enter the room. There was no card or keyless entry. The grounds are sweet. It was quiet and looks right into the farm lands of Amish country. I really liked you were in a residential area but down the road for a major highway. There are plenty of food/shopping and attractions a stones throw away. They really stress the quiet time in the evenings. That was great. If you're looking for a time quiet relaxing time, this is a great place to go. It was nice they gave a little tea/coffee/hot chocolate bar in the morning. There was some pre packaged pastries and yogurt in the morning. it was very nice. The only 2 downfalls I was disappointed was the pillows. They were not comfortable and no shampoo and conditioner. But if that's the only thing I can complain about you know it was a great time. I would love to come back and try the other types of upgraded rooms.
