Zugspitz Resort

We spent 3 nights at Zugspitz resort, 2 adults and 2 children age 6 and 8. Location - it's outside the village up by the gondola. There is nothing else here apart from the campsite and gondola. This is great as it's very pretty but not great if you want other facilities nearby. The gondola in summer is also phenomenally expensive (so much so we didn't go up). Room - we had an edelweis suite. This was in the old part of the building. Oddly the room seemed to be partially modernised in that it had clearly had a new kitchen and bathroom fitted, but the other decor in the room was really dated and carpets felt old. Kids slept on a sofa bed in the living room, and whilst it was nice to have separate rooms, it would have made much better used of space if they had put a bunk bed in that room and taken out the fixed table and bench seat. Shower was excellent but no shampoo provided. We had a shared balcony. We found the rooms very hot and stuffy and it wasn't even a super hot summer in Austria. For nearly €600 a night, some air conditioning should be fitted. Food - our room was full board. The food was all buffet. Breakfast was OK, but the evening meal was poor. It did not cater for vegetarians at all well. The desserts were the best option. This place cost more than other kinderhotels and familotels we've stayed in in Austria yet the food let it down massively. Drinks were charged as extra including tap water! Pool - small indoor water park with racer tube slides, some other kids slides. Water was super warm. Actual swimming pool was separated in a different section, again heated. Kids enjoyed the pool areas. Play areas - outside play area with climbing frames and pedal go karts. There are also trampolines but you have to pay €1 for 3 minutes - seriously, I've paid nearly €600 for a night and they still charge for the kids trampolines. This is poor form I feel. Great indoor play area - large soft play, small bouldering wall and some ride on cars which seem to work sometimes but not always. Kids loved the soft play. There is also a kids club providing childcare. We did not use, went to enquire first night and the woman I spoke to seemed most unwelcoming. Shame. Unlike other places in Austria where a hotel of similar cost would include a summer card, this one doesnt, again making it not great value for money compared to other branded kinderhotels/familotels which offer similar facilities/childcare but better food/included drinks and included lift access. We enjoyed it but I just wouldn't rush back as not great value for money.

Third time to comes up to Zugspitz top and is always beautiful view. Two times in winter with Rope way and one time in summer by walk is every time nice remember. Always comes from Austria Ehrwald site and will be the best solution for me. My mom and father meets here the first time to stay after more than fifty years together but in Hessen.

Awesome hotel and service. Why do they have only 4 stars? It must be 6! Good and different food, awesome landscapes, and a lot of ways to have a sport, mostly I like hiking roads. Highly recommend for families with kids, awesome playing room, swimming pool.

We stayed here for the first time last week. We'd seen the hotel previously en route to the cable car pre refurb- what an amazing job the team have done. There are lots of really great surprises around the hotel that I won't spoil for you - the kids loved being given lanyards with room key badges on them, and also the cinema/soft play and especially the go-karts (pedal ones and big enough for our 12 year old). The water slides are a real treat. Food is v easy with kids- buffet style and they were able to find something to eat every night. The rooms were a real highlight- so well thought out, and the beds were super comfy. The balcony was a total bonus with a view of the Zugspitz.

Campeggio, tranquillo, bei servizi, possibilità di piazzola con bagno privato. Manca la piscina e un'area meglio attrezzata per i giochi dei bimbi. Personale alla reception gentile e disponibile , vista eccezionale sullo Zugspitze, comoda la fermata del bus per Garmisch, ottimo noleggio e.bike al campeggio.

Wir waren für ein Wochenende Zugspitz Resort. Sehr glückliche Umstände haben uns dort hingeführt und wir durften dort ein Wochenende in der Familiensuite verbringen. Schon bei der Anreise waren wir begeistert von dieser wunderschönen Lage des Hotels. Das Hotel bietet alles was man sich nur wünschen und vorstellen kann für Kinder. Es ist alles sehr sehr sauber. Das Frühstück war absolut top und das Abendessen auch. Wir werden auf jeden Fall wieder kommen.

Een vaste stek van ons. Het hotel voldoet aan al onze verwachtingen. Een gezellige, warme en fijne lounge/bar waar je de gehele dag bij de open haard kunt zitten voor een drankje, spelletje of hapje. Het appartement waar wij in verbleven was van alle gemakken voorzien (keukentje met vaatwasser en koffie apparaat, badkamer met bad en 2 ruime slaapkamers). Afhankelijk van de locatie is het geluid hoorbaar op de gang. De faciliteiten voor de kinderen zijn geweldig, een monkeytown, een bioscoop, een fijn zwembad met glijbanen en buiten nog een skelterbaan. Onze kinderen wilden niet meer weg. Wij hadden All-inclusive en konden 3x per dag eten in het restaurant, wij hadden een fijne vaste tafel in het restaurant. Het eten was goed op temperatuur en had een goede kwaliteit. Het hotel heeft een prachtig uitzicht op de bergen waar je niet op uit gekeken raakt. Door de ligging, kun je ook heel mooi wandelen en sleeën. De slee kun je overigens gratis lenen bij de receptie, ideaal! Wij vinden het een top hotel voor een verblijf in de winter met kleine kinderen! Personeel is ook erg vriendelijk.

Het verblijf had niet beter kunnen zijn, we hadden een appartement (Edelweiss) besproken via de website van het Zugspitz Resort, inclusief ontbijt, lunch en diner, het verwen-arrangement. De ontvangst bij de receptie was allervriendelijkst, een van de medewerkers liep met ons mee om ons wegwijs in het hotel te maken en alle andere zaken uit te leggen. Het resort is ook geschikt voor gezinnen met kinderen, de foto's op de website laat alles prima zien. Alles verloopt er erg relaxed, de medewerkers zijn bijzonder vriendelijk en behulpzaam. De kamers zijn heel schoon, maar dat geldt voor het gehele resort: zwembad, sauna, evenals de "eigen" badkamer, keuken en toilet. Bovendien is de omgeving perfect voor een winter- en zomervakantie. Het is een geweldige aanrader.

Unser Besuch liegt tatsächlich länger zurück - September 2020, aber dies konnte ich nicht als Datum auswählen. Bin gerade nochmal über das Resort gestolpert bei meiner Recherche und wollte gerne noch eine positive Bewertung abgeben! Die Lage ist super! Auch das Essen und der Schwimmbereich für Kinder konnte für uns überzeugen! Einzig den Flurbereich habe ich als „nicht so gemütlich“ in Erinnerung, die Zimmer dafür umso mehr! Danke für den schönen Aufenthalt „damals“ 😀
