Very comfortable, and very close to the supermarket, very convenient

The Best Western Queens Hotel Pforzheim-Niefern is easily accessible by car (motorway A8 is 500 m away). We are located between Stuttgart and Karlsruhe near the Town of Gold Pforzheim with lots of sights, jewelry museum and shopping just to name a few. Surrounded by nature, we have a beautiful beer garden/terrace; barbecue in the summertime. Our rooms are spacious with modern amenities, all rooms refurbished, free parking and free Wi-Fi in the hotel. Our restaurant Paladin serves international and regional specialties. After dinner you can enjoy your drink at our hotel bar. Enjoy your stay.

The hotel makes a good impression optically, the rooms are also modernly furnished and clean. The bed was comfortable, the hotel is located near the centre, overall quiet at the end of the pedestrian zone, however near school. We had a guest for 2 nights on Christmas Day. Check-in was okay, the ”service” but relatively disgustless. Over the holidays the location of the hotel was visually visible, the breakfast offer as well. That on the 1st holiday instead of the ordered eggs with bacon a watery, The 2nd day was also unsuccessful, the staff said there were no eggs in the kitchen. Requiring the full price of almost EUR 17 per day for a very limited offer is no longer limitable. There is also no help with the free use of the mini bar (water and beer). Despite late check out (on holidays until 14:00), our guest became the 2nd. A holiday is required from the room at 12 p.m. at least for holidays for us no option for future guest accommodation. Unfortunately, our guest was not able to express the criticism on the ground because there was no person at the reception - despite 2 hours of waiting in the lobby on the day of departure.

We stayed for one night at the Parkhotel to be within walking distance of the jewelry museum. This was among the more expensive options we considered in Pforzheim, but we believe it was money well spent. This hotel would easily hold its own quite well in much larger cities; in terms of size and facilities, it might compare to many Hiltons or Sheratons, but everything about the Parkhotel is at a higher level. The public areas were immaculate and bright with lovely fresh flower arrangements, dinner staff appeared to be seasoned veterans, and the (optional) breakfast was easily the best we encountered in two weeks of travel. There was plenty of underground parking, and the front desk staff was friendly and professional. My only slightly negative impression was the very long walk to our room, but that was far outweighed by our overall experience; it seems clear this hotel sets high standards, and in our brief stay, it lived up to them in all respects.

Man muss Glück haben, wenn man vor dem Hotel einen der öffentlichen Parkplätze ergattern kann. Diese sind am Wochenende kostenlos. Parken in der Tiefgarage kostet zwölf Euro pro Nacht. Die Zimmerreinigung war tadellos. Die Klimaanlage macht was sie soll, wenn auch unter erheblichem Geräuschpegel. Die Mitarbeiter sind freundlich, das Frühstück ist korrekt. Allerdings waren wir so ziemlich die einzigen, die die Einweghandschuhe am Frühstücksbuffet benutzt haben. Wäre vielleicht es sinnvoll, wenn das Personal die Gäste drauf hinweisen würde, dass diese zu benutzen sind. Das große Hinweisplakat wird schlicht ignoriert.

The hotel is located in the western part of the city, directly on the B10, a main access road coming from the A8. It is only about 1 km to the motorway itself (Pforzheim West exit). The building is 6 stories high and has about 200 rooms. In my opinion, the hotel was built in 2005/2006. Everything is in perfect condition. The clientele during our short stay was mainly male, with the guests primarily from the trade, craft and business sectors. We were at the Arcusklinik in Pforzheim for a preliminary examination. The hotel has a special rate for patients at this clinic. We paid €95.50 for our double room on the 4th floor, including breakfast and parking; you can't complain about that. WiFi was included. There is a bus stop very close by. The bus goes from here directly to the main station or the city center (distance about 4.0 km). Stuttgart Airport is about 50 km away; it is about 30 km to Karlsruhe. The first telephone contact when making the reservation was very positive. The subsequent greeting in the hotel itself was also OK; unfortunately, there was a mistake with our booking. Our reservation was for a day later. Contrary to all custom, I foolishly did not receive a reservation confirmation by email. The error would have been noticed early on. But the nice gentleman at the reception (Mr. Rödel?) tried to correct this mishap, which he succeeded in doing. All other questions were answered exhaustively, so that nothing stood in the way of a pleasant stay. All in all, we were very satisfied. The rest of the staff (breakfast room) were also very friendly and helpful. As a guest, you feel comfortable. One negative point must be noted, however. The rooms are no longer obligatory to be cleaned daily. This is only possible on express request. A corresponding written notice is available; however, it would be desirable if you were informed of this verbally when checking in. The argument for this change in cleaning is environmental protection / CO2 footprint. But I couldn't shake the thought that this was primarily to save on staff. The hotel itself does not have its own restaurant. However, you can eat very well in the Pizzeria Allegro, which is right next to the hotel. The hotel's breakfast room is on the 6th floor. The breakfast was very good and contained everything you would expect from a hotel of this category (coffee, tea, juices, sausage, cheese, jam, eggs, sausages, various types of bread and rolls, etc.). Care was taken to replenish the food on time and to clear the tables promptly. In any case, we were very satisfied. Our double room (with air conditioning) was about 22 square meters and had a separate desk, satellite TV and a small refrigerator that can also be used as a minibar. There is no room safe.

I would like to complain about the disastrous stay at Hotel Novum Ruf in Pforzheim. I am absolutely disappointed with the quality of your hotel and what we were as rooms. I booked on the internet before and saw pictures of a beautiful room, but when we entered the room, we were shocked. The room was not at all the pictures we had seen. It was dirty (it was spider tissue clearly visible) and had a very different look than on the pictures. When I made the staff aware of it, we were told that it was normal and we should not complain. But that was not all yet. The whole hotel smells to urine and similar. Both the reception and the staircase were intolerable. It was unhygienic and a conception to stay in such an environment. I can't recommend this hotel to anyone and I am really disappointed by our stay. As a young man, it was particularly frustrating that the staff tried to tell us that it was normal to stay in such conditions. I hope you will do something against these conditions in the future and will treat your guests better.
