Ona Diana Park

Contrary to what was told to us by Hays Travel, the beach is at least 20-25 minutes walk away, and is not very nice. The mosquitoes are absolutely HORRIBLE. We even stopped having housekeeping to not allow the door to ever be open for more than a second, and somehow we were still eaten alive every day, every night. They must breed in the rooms! Other guests were complaining as well. The other issue - it is a good 20 minute drive to Estepona, so unless you have a car it is quite a drive and the busses are very unreliable. Estepona proper is much nicer area and it is worth spending extra to stay in the actual town. The good::::: the staff was very friendly and the pool was lovely. In particular, Mario, Pedro, and Liza were exceptional and made the trip enjoyable. We won't ever go back to this location, it is not worth it.

Looked for a basic hotel as travelling solo and found Ona Diana. Pros and cons to my stay: Pros Really nice staff on reception and the bar Daily cleaning of the room Quiet around the pool Not overly busy Cons Next to a busy highway so there was traffic noise Paid for half board for ease but wish I hadn’t, evening meals were not great though the grill was the better option over the pre prepared food. It’s a little way out from Estepona, puerto Banus was closer. Cockroaches were a problem but the staff moved me to another room quickly although also woke up one morning with a dead cockroach in that room too. No hotel car parking so used street parking and then car got damaged in the night. Wifi a bit flakey, slow or stopped working regularly. I would say you need a car to stay here although driving here can be a bit nerve wracking until you get used to it due to the general road layouts and you definitely need sat nav. Taxi’ing would be costly and airport transfers take forever according to other travellers.

A fortunate last-minute booking found us this place as a base for exploring nearby Estepona. Although it is really 16 km away from central Estepona, and situated right next to the AP-7 highway, it proved to be a good choice. High-quality doors and sound insulation keep out the highway noise; the rooms are amply sized and very clean; the bathroom ultramodern; the pool in the courtyard very attractive; the buffet breakfast would do a high-end hotel proud; and the staff are friendly and efficient. Bonus: the hotel is in a plaza of many small shops and reasonably-priced restaurants.

Love staying here as my brother in law and sister own a bar which is 2 minutes away..all staff are always lovely and friendly and there to help you with anything you need…stayed twice this year and looking forward to booking up again next year..

Ona Diana Park is DIRTY- greatly upset at the cleanliness standards- staff lift filthy, sink cracked, furniture cigarette damaged, shabby decor and view of rubbish recycling point, unhelpful reception staff, unappealing and unappetising menu. “ This holiday was advertised as appealing, clean, great location when in fact it was anything but and caused so much distress that we made our own arrangements for the next ten days.

Staff reasonably friendly but room was awful. A sort of open terrace with 2 plastic kitchen chairs overlooked a chain linked fence backing onto A-7 motorway. Very busy and noisy all through night. Plagued with flying ants all over bed and in bathroom. Left covered in bites. None of this included in Jet2.com marketing description.
