Castle Mountain Lodge

A quiet, family friendly getaway! I felt so happy to be there the moment we drove onto the little entrance bridge. The folks who work here are kind, warm & welcoming and the vibe is a nature lover’s paradise. The river, wild turkeys, birds, and chipmunks are chilling right outside the cabins. Rest in a hammock and truly relax. We enjoyed ice cream social, the fire pit, the common areas, jacuzzi, literally everything! We liked walking to the restaurant next door too and the disc golf. Close to “town” but secluded - you’ll feel you are not in the hustle and bustle. It’s relaxing and the Mountain Views are gorgeous. There’s a sweet library of books, lawn games, board games etc for guest use.

We stayed in The Riverside cabin last week while attending a wedding in Estes. We actually had booked the Homestead House but they canceled our reservation due to remodeling not being completed. We were able to rebook into the Riverside cabin. What we assumed was a downgrade actually was an upgrade. We were much closer to the other cabins and friends, the lodge and the river. There were 6 of us and the cabin was perfect. Rustic, clean, furnished with everything we needed. 3 bedrooms - one smaller one with a queen (maybe large double?) bed and the other bedroom was large and had a twin and queen bed. You have to walk through one bedroom to get to the other and they shared a smaller bathroom with shower. Nice kitchen, dining room and large living room with a fireplace. The 3rd bedroom had a king bed and sleeper sofa and a large bathroom/shower. There was a bonus bathroom, too, without shower. Nice deck that overlooked the river. Yes, there is traffic on the road during the day but having access down the stairs to the river and following the path alongside the river made up for it. The cabins are all surrounded by beautiful pine trees and the property is well-kept and extremely clean. Pretty lights decorate the covered bridge and trees throughout the resort. Was so nice to take a walk by the river every morning or sit in the front of the cabin in one of many chairs or picnic tables. We absolutely loved the turkeys that wandered the property. There were over 20 that would walk all over the place and didn’t seem bothered by us while sitting outside. The lodge is a bit small but had board games, books, fishing rods, tackle box and coolers to borrow. Coffee and cookies everyday. We took our own fishing gear and caught trout off the covered bridge and up the road by Ponderosa Lodge - big ones! The front desk staff and property staff were very welcoming and helpful. We really enjoyed the Castle Mountain Lodge so much that I’m recommending it for our family reunion next year. Great for families, friends and couples.

First time staying here, for my husband & I! Have always wanted to stay. It's right along Fall River. Within walking distance to town, shops and restaurants. There is a really good restaurant, right next door, The Wapiti! The one entrance to the Rocky Mountain National Park, is just up the road. Wildlife frequents there, we just saw wild turkey's. Great place to relax. We stayed in the Motel part, Castle 1. Has a little front porch with chairs. Sat out there a lot! The room was clean and has a lot of windows. Fresh cookies in the lobby and coffee! Gift shop. They do have cabins also and a hot tub. laundry and a firepit. We will be back.
