Le Uaina Beach Resort

Love the staff and their private beach and restaurant truly amazing experience the only hiccup is that it is miles away from everywhere but if you want a very private and peaceful location this is it and super cheap, the rooms are basic and could do with updating but otherwise it was just divine!

The pool, setting, air con, and friendly staff keep this place going I think. Food was below average, not much I would choose to eat, and if you miss breakfast (finishes 9am) you're screwed! I'd recommend stopping at a Store on the way out here to bring your own cereal, milk, fruit & snacks. We stayed in a poolside suite for 4 nights, the proximity to the pool & ocean was perfect & our rooms both had air con + fans. However, the beds were very hard, springy & terribly uncomfortable & the pillows were no better. The amenities & decor are a little tired, bathroom was nice but lacking anywhere to hang towels or face cloth & could do with a thorough clean. Definitely book a car if coming to stay here as it's a 40min drive to Apia or up to the trench, other site seeing activities etc. PS. Dogs & cats roam the resort, friendly as, but if you don't like animals beware.

Le Uaina is a beautiful place to stay, the facilities are awesome, & the food was delicious, the cocktails were also amazing ! however our garden villa wasn’t available when we arrived apparently it was getting fixed. My family of 5 ended up being moved to Lillypond, we got 2 rooms right next to each-other, they were pretty run down, the aircon in our room was old, the water was leaking through the walls so you could actually see the indentation in the walls from the water leaking. We had to keep asking for towels, reception would say they will bring it to our room but never did. I lost a limited edition white fox T.shirt not sure how, but you would never believe this coz I couldn’t believe my eyes, I saw one of the Fijian girls that served us breakfast most mornings wearing the T.shirt in Apia almost a week after we had stayed there ! Now that can’t be a coincidence that she and the reception Fijian girl were in Apia and she was wearing my t.shirt , I know it was mine coz what are the chances she had the same t.shirt. We turned the car around to go ask her but couldn’t see her anywhere. But it is what it is maybe she needed it more than me. I still don’t know how she got her hands on it, we did dry clothes from our balcony and we were out a lot of the time. Apart from that I enjoyed my stay but it would be good that next time we book well in advance please don’t change rooms when we arrive coz that was really annoying as we were looking forward to staying in the garden villa. Felt like We were in the back with the dogs which was gross! I could smell the dogs from our room. I will post the T.shirt incase the girl who now has it remembers it doesn’t belong to her. I’m sure she knows who she is, How embarrassing 🙈.

Friends and I each had a garden villa each. We were there for 7 nights and one friend didn't even have hot water for her entire stay. I did not have any internet or TV. The sheets were so disgustingly stained I had to pretend I was camping! No cover either. Rooms were not serviced. Food...OMG dreadful. We couldn't eat as they did not listen to our request of no onion, even though they were told my friend was allergic. She didn't eat for 5 nights! No fresh seafood, fruits or vegetables. All fozen if available at all. Beware of Taxi's there are people ripping visitors off. Should be $50 tala for a Taxi to Apia, we were charged $210 Tala ! Food, drinks and massages are as expensive as in Australia

We love Le Uaina! The staff were so friendly, gentle, kind and knowledgeable about the area. The resort has lovely gardens. Food is good. A nice pool for the kids to swim in. Ocean is interesting for snorkelling. It is a few minutes walk to Piula Cave and about 20 minutes walk to Falefa Falls and the locals enjoy a chat with you while you are out walking. Buses to Apia go past the resort. There is a little shop across the road from the resort. A very relaxing place to holiday.

This was delightful hotel, a bit quirky and out of the way, but the staff were unfailingly helpful and friendly. Our room was comfortable and food tasty. The whole place could do with a bit of TLC and the menu updated as several choices were unavailable all week. That said, for a locally owned and run hotel it’s a bit of a gem and any faults forgiven as the staff are so good. Please visit!

We stayed at Leuiana Beach Resort also called Le Uiana Beach Resort, in March 2024. Situated on the north coast of Upola island, Samoa, the hotel is on the eastern edge of the settlement of Lufulufi. It’s about 20km from Apia, the main and only town. It’s 54km from the international airport, a journey of around 90 minutes (island wide speed limit is 35mph/56kph) Just for reference, the first picture on TripAdviser bears little resemblance to the grassy covered area between the accommodation and the sea! The hotel has a variety of room options and we stayed in a Superior Beachfront room. If I were to come again, I might choose the Ocean Front villas as they are more private, have more shade and have steps directly into the sea. Our Superior Beachfront room was large and airy, had a fan and air conditioning. The room was very clean and comfortable with a patio, desk, 2 easy chairs, open front storage and a small fridge. Wifi was generally good although we did experience minor outages. The bathroom is large and has a wonderfully large shower. There is a bar/restaurant on a deck partly over the lagoon and the food, although from a limited menu, is good and tasty. Some items on the menu, primarily fresh fish, weren’t available as fish stock around the island is surprisingly poor due to over fishing from unregulated foreign fishing fleets. Without exception, all the staff are friendly and helpful and unfailing polite. Whilst were stayed, apart from weekends, there were few guests. I guess the remoteness of Samoa accounts for that largely. Casting a critical eye over the hotel, I would note that some of the hotel infrastructure is a bit ‘tired’. The rooms are well cared for but wooden sunloungers, need some TLC as do the handrails on the steps into the sea. Some tiles are missing from the three swimming pools and the floor in the restaurant needs some attention. The north coast of Upola is still recovering from the 2009 earthquake and tsunami so there is no beach, but at mid to high tide you can swim safely in the lagoon. The coral on the inner reef still hasn’t recovered, but it is slow,y regenerating. That said, I’d highly recommend staying here if you want peace and quiet and sea view.

We went with a group, and booked both 3bdrm suites. The staff, the food and the service was all so amazing. The resort is a lot more beautiful in person than in the pictures and is also a walk away from piula cave. The staff always welcomed us with a smile and went above and beyond to continuously accomodate to us The only reason we checked out was because the suites were booked out. Highly recommend, we'll be coming back! Faafetai lava

We stayed here when it was the older Le Uaina over 10 years ago. Sadly it was better then than now. This time we were 5 adults, 2 kids, 1 baby. We stayed in garden villa, it was run down: the rooms definitely are not good. Yes good aircon and bathroom. But the walls had homes, paint jobs not completed. One of our villa air con had to be fixed. The Beds you can fill the springs. The mattresses for our kids. We have better ones in the village. They didn’t clean our villas at all whilst we were there for the weekend. It was mission for new towels, due to swimming, you had to return a towel to get a new one which is quite silly. Even that, took ages to replace, we would finish showering and still be waiting. The food for breakfast could have been better but it was ok. The dinner options was average. Not good quality nor sizing. The staff were probably the best thing. Always smiling and very polite which was nice. The fiafia night was awesome. We enjoyed that but very short compared to other shows we’ve been to. But service and processes were quite poor and lacking a lot of love. We had a better time 10 years ago. We only came back to see the new renovations. Probably won’t stay again. Totally needs an upgrade in everything.
