Just finished 4 nights, 3 days of skiing, at this wonderful resort and hotel. First a note on Kvitfjell. I love skiing in Norway, it’s so uncrowded and laid back. I’ve always found the snow conditions to be excellent and the runs are a pleasure to ski. Kvitfjell is no exception to this. We had plenty of runs to keep us fully occupied over three days. They range from easy to challenging. If you like to look good on wide open pistes, this is the place for you! It’s spread across three different sides, which again helps mix things up. There are a good selection of cafes/restaurants on the mountain which were all good quality and very welcoming. We arrived just after the World Cup races and so the resort was wonderfully quiet. Often we had whole runs all to ourselves. We only had to share a chairlift once in 3 days! Everything is very convenient, making for a stress free holiday. The Gudbrandsgard Hotel was also very welcoming. The staff were very friendly. We had a standard room which was cosy and pretty basic but very comfortable. We were on full board and so we ate in the restaurant every night. There was a small choice, normally a meat dish, a fish dish and a vegetarian option. The food was consistently very good. The bar was pleasant too. The swimming pool was surprisingly large. The boot room was a decent size and opened out to the slope, literally ski in/ski out. All in all, a great ski hotel. For a few days of great skiing, good food, and a relaxed atmosphere, this is the place.
