Located in the heart of the charming village of Faverges, France, approximately 30 minutes from Annecy, this hotel presents a promising facade with its quaint exterior set against the picturesque town square along the main road. However, the charm seems to dissipate upon entering the hotel. The ground floor, shared with a sushi restaurant that doubles as the breakfast room in the morning, immediately detracts from the hotel's initial appeal. Reception duties are handled by the restaurant staff, who evidently manage the hotel as well. The use of an old-fashioned key and fob evokes nostalgia for the 90s but proves inconvenient in today's fast-paced world. The room, unfortunately, adds to the disappointment. It is small, with the bed occupying most of the space, leaving just enough room to walk around. There is a modest vanity area and chair, air conditioning, and a small balcony, but these features do little to elevate the overall experience. The bathroom, while functional, lacks modern charm and aesthetics. The room's condition is in line with the hotel's two-star rating. The WiFi, which required a sign-in, was adequate but not exceptional. Breakfast the next morning did little to improve the overall experience. The small continental offering for 11 euros was underwhelming and could have been better enjoyed at a local bakery for a fraction of the cost. In conclusion, if the hotel's pricing aligned with its two-star rating, the experience would be more justifiable. However, when priced similarly to a three-star hotel in Annecy, it feels subpar and disappointing.
