Ormurinn Cottages

Very nice cottage, has all the basic needs for a short stay. Comfortable enough for a small group. Downside - we had a little trouble with the main door. But the upside - we caught the Northern Lights right outside the cottage. Definitely recommend this accomodation.

Booked this lovely cottage stay through travel agent Hey Iceland after reading some good reviews. Enjoyed so much staying at Cottage no. 1 with my family. This unit could accommodate up to 4 persons with one room and one sofa bed. Scenic view of the lake and mountains. The location was perfect, near airport and within 5 minutes' drive to center of Egilsstaðir town with restaurants and supermarkets. Check in and check out were all by ourselves, just follow the instruction provided by email using the code to unlock the security box which stores the door key. However, a little trick is needed to open the door after unlocking with the key, need to turn the door handle upwards once to unlocked. This little cottage was clean and complete with Wifi and TV. Cooking utensils and necessities (oil, salt and pepper) provided but not sugar. Mini refrigerator and bread toaster were also provided. Unfortunately, no washing machine in the cottage. Car could be parked near the cottage. Bath towels provided were clean, shower liquid was provided too. I will definitely return if I come to Egilsstaðir again.

This was a super adorable A-Frame cottage on the lake. We stayed only one night, but wish we had booked longer. Fully stocked kitchen. Strong shower but had to hold the shower head as it kept sliding down below my head. Comfortable Bed, clean rooms, TV. Could use some paper towels. Host was very good at communicating and we never met them, but lock box at front got us in and we didn't have any needs to contact them for anything. We would definitely stay again. The town is a good size with good restaruant options. We ate at "Salt" and it was very good.

This was my favourite stay in Iceland. All the facilities are top notch (TV, sound system, kettle, toaster), the lake view, the independence and privacy of a cottage with a kitchen. I really could have stayed longer if there were more things to do in the area. The kitchen really had everything you need except a microwave. The number of spoon, spatulas, whisks, can openers, scissors, etc you'll have great ambitions with the two burners. The shower water pressure was another thing too! There's one thing that I could see being improved and it was actually a bit annoying. All the electrical outlets are on one side and very far away from the bed and couch. If I had packed an extension cord but who travels with that?

un des plus beaux logements que nous ayons eu! seuls au monde dans des petits chalets avec vu sur le lac! cuisine bien équipée , grille pain, plaques électriques, cafetière à piston avec café à disposition canapé convertible, tv, et une chambre séparée Bref tout était parfait

Cet endroit est trop mignon Vue sur le lac , très facile à trouver Très propre , bien pour 2 mais un peu petit pour 3 Le lit est très confortable , petite cuisine , petite salle de bain Tout est fonctionnel Il y a cinq unités , un emplacement parking devant chaque

Abbiamo alloggiato una notte a Settembre dello scorso anno. Casetta caratteristica posta su un bel prato verde, con vista lago e tranquillità assicurata. La casa, in uno spazio incredibilmente ristretto ha praticamente tutto quello che serve. Wi-fi potente. Bagno molto piccolo, ma pulito. Lo spazio della casa è veramente troppo scarso, anche per gli standard islandesi. In pratica non c'è spazio per fare nulla (tant'è che pur disponendo di una mini cucina siamo andati a cena al ristorante perchè era impossibile poi mangiare), meno che meno se avete anche diversi bagagli. Rapporto dimensioni prezzo insufficiente anche per i già altissimi prezzi islandesi. Probabilmente va più bene per una coppia che per una famiglia. Inoltre noi siamo arrivati in serata ed erano state lasciata aperta una finestra e la casa era decisamente fredda.

Bellissimi bungalows sul lago . Location diversa per questo paese Ma vi assicuro di grande effetto e suggestione . Pulizia ok . Non ci manca niente .. basta fare la spesa e ti sembra di essere a casetta tua Ma in Islanda ! Consigliatssimo insomma.!!!
