La Casella Antico Feudo di Campagna

Perfect location if you’re looking for a wine your or even being in the wine region. Being in Umbria, the resort is close to Tuscany as well. The staff and owners couldn’t have been more friendly and helpful. Overall, I’d give La Casella an 11 out of 11 if I could. The wifi works just fine, the food is good as breakfast and dinner are provided with your stay. If you love helpful people an authentic experience and peaceful surroundings then come to La Casella where you’ll feel right at home. It was my first time in Italy and I’ll certainly be back. The staff does as much as they can to accommodate a guest and honestly makes the stay effortless.

Resort poorly maintained, all facilities were not working Pool & Spa. Water ran through the restaurant when it rain heavy more than once. When checking in we where not informed that the wine wasn’t included in the half board and we got charged at checkout, after complaining we got credited. Generally the staff were really good and we had no complaints about them

The accommodation was a real trip back in time. We were in a quiet, clean and tidy apartment. The facilities are not up to the usual RCI standard. The hosts are nice, helpful and friendly as much as possible. We were before the season - only guests - so pools and other attractions were not yet available for use, but we had all our meals in front of a crackling fireplace. We felt the 30 Euros for "Club Membership" was a rip off as it didn't offer anything extra (we don't do horse riding). The breakfast is sufficient, the coffee is really good, the four-course dinners are more healthy than special, so in the end we found the HB price a bit pricey. All the tourist attractions in the area are far away from the accommodation in terms of travel time, so you have to travel a lot. The distance in km is not long, but the many serpentine and rocky roads make for slow drive. On average, it takes 1-1.5 hours per direction per destination. When it comes to relaxing, be prepared for reading, as the TV service is poor and the equipment is small and old. Wifi reception is very low, sending emails, news reading is ok, but not suitable for anything else. The photos on the website are nice but it's been a few years since they were taken. To sum up! On arrival you should follow the directions of the accommodation providers! They will navigate you from the motorway to the accommodation in a detailed email that will guide you perfectly to the destination. (If you use the navigation system, download it in advance, as you will lose reception en route.) Don't go in a low-slung car, as you'll easily get stuck on the rocky road. Take comfortable shoes and a handheld or headlamp, because you'll have to climb a "hill" to get to and from dinner. There is no GSM reception at the resort (an absolute disconnect) and the speed of the internet is quite limited. It is sufficient for basic communication, but cannot perform better than that. If you want to be totally disconnected you have found the perfect place.

This was an amazing trip. Virginia, our main contact, was amazing. She answered any questions we had, and was very easily reachable on whatsapp. She contacted me about 2 weeks or so before our trip to let us know about the resort and about the tours they offer. We did two of the tours and they were worth every cent. Isaia is an amazing tour guide. He is a wealth of knowledge, very friendly, easy to talk to, and an overall great guy. We are so grateful that he was our tour guide. The only minor issue for us were the bed and no where to really just sit, like a comfy chair or a couch, just the seats at the table(there was a twin bed in the living room).I would definitely stay here again, and recommend this resort to anyone. I only wish we would have explored the resort more, we were out and about every day and did not have time to enjoy anything at the resort.

This secluded family run eco-resort was the perfect Christmas getaway. Great breakfast buffets, an endless supply of capuccinos, brilliant dinners with local ingredients and wine, mornings and evenings relaxing by the open fire, horse riding (one-on-one) into the hinterland, and afternoon touring to local towns in Tuscany and Umbria. We enjoyed every moment. The family and staff were extremely friendly and helpful with recommendations for places to visit. It was like being part of the family.

we stayed for christmas and new year eve, 8 days. La casella looks a family hotel, they try to do their best to you feel at home, always ready do support and adapt to client needs, the dinner was alwsome. common area looks not well mantained and no extra activities were offered. room cleaning was done only once during our stay. rooms are very simply. breakfast was simple also (to get some ham, cheese and eggs, we need to asked if it is avaliable, none was offered to us)

we were very pleased with the family owned retreat nestled in the maintains near Tuscany. The staff was more than helpful in providing guidance and arranging guided tours for us as well as preparing an excellent breakfast buffet and evening meals served in the traditional Italian way. If you go there be prepared to drive down very rough rocky roads for several kilometers. This may me an advantage since it limits traffic to almost nothing. We missed having a microwave oven in tthe room but as it turned out we really didn't need one.

Amazing views for nature loving people. Excellent staff especially Virginia for doing way above her duties, very accommodating. For upgrading our room to 2 BR apartment from 2 - 1 BR units which are km apart from each other. For arranging a special surprises such as my son’s delicious birthday cake and a private olive farm tour and olive oil tasting at FRANTOIO CATALONI ( thanks to Daniele)

La Casella is a family-run accommodation that is well off the beaten path. The photos and promotional video on the property’s website could easily lead to inflated expectations. In reality, the feel was a bit like staying in a cabin at a state park. Our apartment was spacious enough for the two of us and our two dogs, rustic but reasonably well maintained. We were missing a coffee pot and dish soap when we arrived, but were able to remedy the situation with a quick trip to the front desk (located in another building several hundred yards away). We were pleasantly surprised to find we had WiFi available in the unit, although the service was slow and sometimes unavailable. The outdoor area was largely left to nature, lush and green, and without extensive landscaping. Most of the units we saw did not have expansive views, but there are two buildings up on a hill that looked out over a valley. We ate at the on-site restaurant on our arrival night and found the food to be quite good, if a bit overpriced (€40 per person for dinner). If you choose to eat there, be aware there is a set menu, which may or not be to your preference. Like other reviewers, we found the €30 per person “Club Card” to be a ripoff, as the pool wasn’t open during our stay and we couldn’t discern any other benefits. Far and away the best feature of La Casella is the staff. They are very friendly and eager to accommodate. You genuinely feel that you are their guests — maybe even old friends. Far and away the worst feature of La Casella is the accessibility. Like many visitors to the area, we wanted to use the property as a base to explore the many places of interest in Umbria and Tuscany. Coming from Ficulle, the last 15 minutes of the drive is down an 18% grade, pothole-filled dirt road with hairpin turns and lots of exposed rocks. Coming from the other direction (Fabro), the road is a little more level, but still 15-20 minutes of extreme abuse on your car. With the potholes filled with water from the recent rain, it was a true four-wheeling experience. Sites we enjoyed seeing in the area were Orvieto, Montepulciano, Perugia, Assisi and the Madonna Del Latte winery. Overall, we had a good stay at La Casella, but don’t plan on returning. The difficulty of getting in and out of the property to go touring overshadowed the positives of staying here.
