The Ship Inn

Although we couldn't park in the car park there is one at the back of the pub very cheap. The pub itself was a popular old fashioned one with wonderful staff we had booked two rooms for the night and after checking out the huge reasonable menu decided to have our evening meal there we were amazed with the food. Our rooms were perfect the staff showed us all fire exits as a precaution spot on, beds very really comfortable large room with nice size bathroom. Breakfast was definitely the best we had had in a long time we all had full English with plenty of toast and cereals if wanted. Looking forward to a return visit

Stayed at The Ship over the Jubilee holiday, really enjoyed our stay here , our room was Lovely, spacious, with a TV , free Wi-Fi and a kettle with condiments including sweets . Breakfast was amazing , so much & red hot. The young schoolgirl serving us was so chatty jolly & helpful. The barman that checked us in , think it was Sean? Was charming & very friendly- Thankyou . Our only gripe was the parking , plenty room in the car back at the back of the Beer garden , but at £1 an hour from 08am , it can soon all mount up . Could not understand why there was plenty empty spaces in the actual Ship car park - but you were not allowed to use it & had the gate shut . Plus a bit wary of leaving your car in a public car park when you don’t know the area. We would revisit The Ship again & The Crown next door , and loved Fordingbridge, lovely little village .

A party of 10 visited for Easter Sunday lunch. We all ordered roast dinners which all came out the same time and were hot. There was plenty of meat and vegetables which were cooked perfectly. Excellent price, quality and the staff were very nice that looked after us. Highly recommended.

Quite simply brilliant! We arrived after a 15 mile walk from Salisbury, tired and sweaty. Pub is a cozy, old fashioned style pub but the restaurant menu has a Polish twist and we had a delicious meal with super service before collapsing into lovely comfy beds in a clean room overlooking the high street. Massive breakfast with the same lovely level of service as before. Not a single thing that wasn't great. One of the best places I have stayed in a long while !

We had lunch here mid June and the sun was shining, so having a little dog, we chose a table outside under the parasol's but had to go inside as one of our group, recovering from cancer, couldn't sit with the sun coming between the parasol arrangement. The staff were very accommodating and showed us to a table on the other side where dogs are accepted. Food was excellent and the staff very anxious to please. Will definitely go back here again. Although there is a car park it seems to be permanently closed and one has to use the paying car park accessed from the rear or the pub.
