The Drift Hotel

The hotel is in a perfect location. You can walk to the beach and to any restaurant near by. However the property itself was not worth the money. There was 2 roaches in our room, one went up my husbands arm as we were sleeping and the other was under my pillow. The outside patio is not in the best shape and this is a shame because the location is ideal. I will not be staying here again.

Clean. Staff very friendly and accommodating. Close to beach. Room is basic. Could have more mirrors, storage (dresser/luggage racks) Although it is clean…it could use small touch ups ( grout, small paint chipping) nothing major!! Great value in my option.

The property is very “tired” and requires a freshen up, there is construction going on across from the property but this should clear away in about a year.

The property is a little more bare bones than I expected but location can’t be beat and it still has its art deco charm. Bathroom was nicely remodeled. Also they had beach chairs and towels to borrow. Right by the beach!

The Good: Great location, 3 min walk to the beach. Lots of shops and restaurants in the area as well. Extremely helpful and friendly staff. Comfortable bed and nice larger bathroom/ shower. Nice tropical looking courtyard with tables and chairs for lounging in the evening. Complimentary beach chairs and umbrellas. The Bad: No coffee maker or microwave oven in the room. Although these items were available to use in the front office. I personally found this a bit inconvenient and have never stayed in a hotel that didn't have at least a 2 cup coffee maker in the room. Very small fridge only big enough to fit maybe 8 cans of beer or pop. No sound proofing between units. You could clearly hear the conversation of the people in the next room. Not good if you're a couple on holiday. No wash cloths provided the first day and only 1 hand towel for a double occupancy. Our booking was listed as: Suite, 1 King Bed. In my experience a suite is a separate bedroom, living room and bathroom. Our accommodation was only 1 room and bathroom. Not a Suite.

This is a very unique property for the area. A small inexpensive place to lay your head. The patio is an excellent place to rest after a day on the beach. The location is very good. The beach is just a short stroll. With that being said, beware and know you get what you pay for. Our room had no furnishings other than 2 queen beds and a refrigerator. The bathroom was in disrepair even though it looked as if it had been upgraded recently. Towel bar broken/toilet paper holder broken , shower head would not set into the holder correctly causing us to have to take it down and hold it to shower. Unfortunately there is a major construction project going on right next door. The only day it is quiet is on Sunday. This is not the fault of the property. The cleaning staff is doing a good job with the tools they have and trying to keep guests happy. I would not stay here again unless I had no other option due to availability or $.

Had dirty finger prints all over the bathroom. Also a giant cockroach! My husband was able to caught it and flush it down the toilet. We got woken up but people running around on the floor above us and kids screaming. I thought this was an adults only location. It was in a good location though!

Somebody knocked on and shook the door in the middle of the night which woke me up. The same happened on the 2nd night. I was concerned about the safety. I reported it to the staff and manager in person, by text message and email. No one followed up on my report.

Small Family Run Hotel just off of Fort Lauderdale Beach. Very friendly and helpful. Accomadations simple.
