La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Ft. Myers-Sanibel Gateway

10 days away to some warmer weather was what we wanted and thats what we got🌊⛱️ 80+ degrees most days and very little rain. Southwest non-stop flight was also great✈️. Our check-in with Chris at the front desk was quick and he was very friendly and helpful. The room was small but fit our needs. Only real complaint(s) was the lighting in the room seemed too dim and some of the bedding seemed in need of replacement. Breakfast was typical compared to other hotel breakfasts we've had. The breakfast ladies worked hard filling and refilling food items and remained friendly and helpful at all times. The hotel's pool area was very nice and the pool water temperature was just right. The hotel has a few needed repairs but with it having hurricane Ian's affects we were very pleased with our stay. Bill, Christine, and "Anonymous" were also very friendly and helpful. I missed getting the name of the lady who checked us out on Thursday, but we also found her to be a lovely person. Short drive to beaches, shopping, mini golf, etc. Airport maybe a 30 minute drive. The stories shared with us from so many about surviving the hurricane were amazing. Down the street from our hotel a whole outlet mall was totally destroyed by Ian!!...and so many other areas trying to build back. Thank You ALL for letting LaQuinta be our home for a few days. We miss you already...40 degrees in Indiana today!!

Bed was comfortable, hotel was nothing lavish. We didn't use the pool. The breakfast is okay to grab & go but is not great. We usually grabbed juice & a muffin. Good enough to stay at if you are not using many ammenities & just need a place to lay your head at night. Staff was kind.

$260 for a one-night-stay in a hotel like that is a bit too pricey. The receptionist wasn't too friendly, the manager very helpful though. Breakfast was average/poor for $260/night.

There were 3 couples in 3 different rooms, so they were all suppose to have king beds and one did not. The “free” breakfast didn’t start until 7am and we were out of there before so did get to use it. Pool closes at dusk, not sure why but used to be open much later. We were on the 2nd floor and there were many lights were either very dim or burnt out. The concrete floors had a “coating” on them and were chipping up in several places causing a trip hazard. Overall we just weren’t very happy for over $200 rooms.

The location & amenities for the price were wonderful. It's only a few minutes from Sanibel & only 5 miles from downtown Ft Myers Beach. There's a gas station next door & a Publix/plaza within a few minutes walk. Room was clean, & pool & hot tub were wonderful! Free breakfast is kind of standard for hot continental free breakfast but a nice deal along with free parking. However there are some smaller spots of hurricane damage that absolutely need to be fixed still, I plan to message the hotel directly about it.

Dark room, loud ac( sounded like a jet taking off and landing)hot air from dehumidifier, flashing light poles at night Staff very nice, pool area very well done. Back end of rooms overlooking dumpsters. Smelly

We enjoyed the convenience to Sanibel, Bunche Beach, gas, grocery store and restaurant. The staff always greeted us when we entered or left. Breakfast was very good. Unfortuneately we could not watch the Super Bowl from the comfort of our room as the hotel did not carry CBS. Also we were disappointed that our room only had 2 small drawers for our clothes (we stayed a week)and there was definitely space for additional drawers. There was also only one light by the beds, which was not enough for the size of the room. More chairs/sitting area would have also been nice. With these improvements it would be an A room for our needs.

Visiting Sanibel to get engaged. The "heated" pool was freezing cold - the hot tub out of order. The room had a dehumidifier running constantly and the room reeked of mildew. We had a wonderful view of the dumpsters and parking lot lights that blinked spastically all night. The location is convenient to the beaches but traffic from construction made going 7 miles an afternoon affair. Happy to support businesses recovering from a hurricane but PLEASE stop advertising pools and hot tubs that are unusable. It's deceitful and just wrong.

It was great even though they were recovering from a devastating storm. Our room was clean and just remodeled after the storm. Breakfast was outstanding and a great part why we enjoyed staying there.
