Les Barracudas

An off road adventurous route leads you to beautiful spot in the Mangrove Delta. The resort has huge potential but there is no supervision of the staff or maintenance of the property. The Wifi is only available in reception pool area and the staff lounge there listening to shows on their phones or calling their friends which does not add to the ambience. The water pressure is very low do not wash your hair and our front door was off its hinges with no one to repair it. As you relax by the pool or in your room you will hear the staff having arguments with each other yelling directions to each other. The bartender has no idea what a beer or wine is in French or English. With some supervision and training this could be a nice Eco-Lodge.

We felt mislead by some of the pictures on *********** which did not reflect the room that we were provided with. The bedroom photograph did not appear to be a picture of the 'bungalow with fan'. The staff explained that the problem was related to ***********, not them, and accordingly deflected responsibility. The reality is 'basic' at best, though 'run down' is probably more accurate. Bare light bulbs, holes in the mosquito net, a stained bed sheet and we had to clear dead cockroaches off my daughter's bed. The room started off fairly clean but because no housekeeping is provided, after 3 nights it was pretty grotty. Some of the staff were surly and to a degree that we felt uncomfortable approaching them, for example, with asking if they might clean our room (we had assumed that this was a service that would be provided). Oddly, no bin is provided hence rubbish just piles up during the stay. I got the impression that the owner is not present on site. Les Barracudas in our view lacks leadership and standards. They do not provide a means to pay with visa and there is no local ATM, hence you'll need to bring a lot of cash.

Abbiamo pernottato 3 notti in questo splendido posto. Abbiamo apprezzato la qualità e la genuinità delle colazioni e delle cene, e la gentilezza del personale sempre sorridente. Bellissima anche la varietà della fauna che si può incontrare in questo angolo di paradiso. La quiete, la natura e l’ospitalità del posto rende l’esperienza indimenticabile. La veranda della ns stanza ci ha permesso di apprezzare delle albe stupende.. Approved!

Personnel souriant et sympathique. Très bonne cuisine . Les logements au bord du Saloum sont super ! J'adore cet endroit . Le décor est magnifique ! Levez vous a 5h un matin et écouter la nature et les villageois se réveiller ! Un moment unique à vivre seul ou à 2 sans dire un mot. Juste écouter et apprécier !

Super hôtel, le personnel super sympathique,les plats sont divers et variés et succulents. Les chambres sont vraiment jolies, la nôtre donnait sur la mangrove. Franchement un séjour vraiment satisfaisant. Je recommande vivement !!!!

Modeste mais très charmant. Le personnel est extrêmement bienveillant, on s’y sent vite à la maison. La vue est magnifique et l’endroit est super apaisant. Les activités proposées sont également à faire, kayak balade en pirogue pour voir les mangroves, picnic sur une petite île non loin et baignade, c’était top.

Un bel complesso di bungalow con tetti in paglia a coprire il soffitto d vista sul delta del fiume. Camere spartane ma ampie con aria condizionata o ventilatore; bagni con aria calda che per l’interno del Senegal rappresentano un lusso. Piscina piccola ma sufficiente per il numero di ospiti presenti. Colazione ripetitiva e piuttosto limitata (marmellata, pane ed omelette); pranzi e cene di buon livello qualitativo ; personale cordiale e sempre disponibile .

Si vous passez au Sénégal n’hésitez pas à passer aux barracudas vous ne serez pas déçu, l’endroit est magnifique, confortable et chaleureux. De plus, les gens sont très accueillants et super sympa avec la bonne humeur. Je conseille fortement ! C’est un havre de paix
