Norwood Inn & Suites la Crosse

1. One of our rooms, the electronic card won't work, even when the staff try to fix it. So we transfer to another room that is a connecting room to our second room. The electronic door lock/card still won't work, but the 2nd room lock is ok, so we decided to enter/exit on that room. 2. the telephone does not work/disconnected/dead/no dialtone. 3. the tv remote does not work on room 1 so I borrow the remote from room 2, channels on the tv are not that clear and some channels are blocked, no local channels like ABC/CBS/NBC, those that normally are Over-the-Air. 4. The exhaust vent fan does not work, the mirror is full of moisture, so just open the bathroom door. Bottom-line, we were not expecting much for a $54 a night, the good thing the room is clean. It is still ok for just 1 night stay, checked in at 9pm leave by 10am. I would still go back if I want to save money. I have stayed from RitzC/JW to cheapest rooms with cockroaches, you just have to adjust your expectations according to the price you pay!

Asked about the pool/whirlpool at check-in. Was told that they were unavailable as the the heater broke 6-months ago and hasn't been replaced. Checked and found that TV cable cord was broken so TV didn't work. Reported this in person to the front desk staff at 4:20pm (as no one answered the phone when we called from the room), left for dinner and returned about 7:30pm...called again and was told that Maintenance was "on his way". Called again shortly before 9pm (no answer) and then went to the desk. Staff on duty had no explanation other than to say that the Maintenance person must be stuck somewhere. We were going to go to bed and at this point, didn't want someone waking us. I was up at 3:30am to use the restroom...and the only light bulb (fixture had spots for 4 bulbs) blew out. My friend went to take a shower around 8am and had NO HOT WATER except what was leaking out from the control. Very likely the mixing valve had failed. I went down to get breakfast and found that it was "GRAB & GO"...some fruit, granola bars and & assortment of dry cereal...no milk or juice. The coffee in the Lobby was luke-warm. A far cry from the picture on the website. I asked to see GM but she doesn't come in on the weekend. Misty was very helpful and we were moved to another room. This one had broken phone cord, no hot water in bathroom sink. Supposed to be H-Accessible but toilet was standard height/no grab bars and the shower bench was wobbly and unsafe.

This place is absolutely disgusting. We were looking to use the pool and hot tub but there was nothing telling us they closed the pool. Do not be adventurous and stay here it is the absolute worst hotel i have ever stayed in. I wish i could get my money back but nope we are out the money!

We left 20 minutes after our stay and went somewhere else. The pool wasn't open. The room smelled bad and felt dirty. The curtains were half torn down. No wifi and I barely had a data signal. The tv only had maybe 4 channels. I didn't feel safe having my child stay there.

Pool was out of service, property stated they had Continental breakfast, which they did not.

The hotel itself is what bothered me the most. There was mold in the ceiling of the bathroom, the top light was broken, and the secured lock on the door was broken as well. But the staff was nice.

We had booked a double beded room for the night. When we showed up, we were given our first room which had someone's stuff still in it. Then we were given another room to which the key was not opening the door. Then the front desk person and an off duty employee were on the phone while the front desk person was on the phone with this other employee as he ran around opening rooms to see if they were clean and if they had the correct number of beds. After 20 minutes of waiting while we did this, we were given a room thats' floors were soaking wet and made our socks soaking wet from walking on the floors. It was already late in the night so we dealt with it then, but we had a really bad experience and won't stay there again next time.

In this review I gave most areas four stars or more, simply because I was not expecting higher qualities for the price I was paying. Staff was wonderful. And very kind. Carpet was nasty dirty, but the rest the room was fine. Room 201 needs a light bulb replaced above the mirror, outside the bathroom. The furnace was hard to regulate. 58-62 was the comfortable range. We will stay here again, but never walk barefooted.

Remote location, even if by interstate. Strict security. Windows did not seal, pool closed, no breakfast seating, had cereal and milk but no bowls, no juice or hot water for oatmeal.
