I popped into the restaurant to have something to eat and drink before going on a hike. Although the restaurant was officially closed the very pleasant ladies in reception offered to make me a coffee from their machine. She then offered me the cheese board that they provide as room service to their staying guests. This was no ordinary cheese platter! Several varieties with fruits, flowers and a jelly all sourced locally. Served with thin crispy bread wafers. Amazingly delicious. So not only was i very grateful for the service, despite actually being closed, but the food was lovely.

Myself (28) and my Dad stayed for 2 nights towards the end of our week on Sao Miguel. The location is incredible, a short walk from the lake, in the forrest and the grounds are filled with their own vegetable garden and animals. Our rooms were spacious, clean and had fantastic views. The owners and staff were incredibly kind and helpful and made us feel very welcome. The final shout out would be for the evening meal, which truly was delicious. I couldn't recommend more :)

Nice place to stay on Sao Miguel, in the east part. Cosy and comfortable villas, allowing to enjoy the quietness of the location. The service was excellent, with the owner having waited for us until 2 AM, because of a delayed flight. They also organized that we get the breakfast in the villas late in the evening, because of an early leave at 6 AM. We enjoyed a dinner in their restaurant, and recommend to eat there. Food was tasty and creative, which we really enjoyed at the end of stay in the Azores. So, a nice experience. Thanks to the "Furnas team".

Just returned from a six night stay. Highly recommend -- Great location, very welcoming and knowledgable staff, delicious food. Stayed three nights in an Oak Suite and three nights in a Cedar Villa. Both lovely.

The accomodations, restaurant and grounds are all beautiful. But, what really sets this please above others is the staff. Best reception desk in the world; helpful, courteous and accommodating - made us feel welcomed. Reception even offered a few minutes of spontaneous babysitting at their desk while we ate breakfast in the restaurant. The restaurant staff/chefs also phenomenal - they were a pleasure and very skilled - food was great. Do yourself a favour and stay here!

Nice place to stay, comfortable villas, very good restaurant (don't miss it !) and great service (the owner stayed awake until our late arrival at 2 AM..., and they organized our breakfast in the villas because of leaving at 6 AM the day after). Our deception is about how the team took in consideration the loss of one night (and subsequent day...), because of an airplane strike. We fully understand that they have no legal obligation to reimburse the lost day of our 2 villas (800 €), and did not ask for this, but we did expect a kind gesture, to show that they acknowledge our deception of our shorter stay. 2400€ for a stay of 30 hours, it became a real luxury !! But no, even if they opened the door to a gesture, when we arrived, once we paid the restaurant, and left, they went into a "no reply" mode. A simple bottle of the excellent wine of Azores, offered during our dinner, would have shown their consideration, and we would have kept a great souvenir of this stay. But that seemed to be too expensive to them... Sad is the word that comes to my mind.

My husband and I stayed 5 nights in one of the villas. We selected this hotel on the recommendation of our daughter who stayed here in 2022. We loved the quiet roomy space the villas allowed us. We could spread out and relax as we used this area as a base camp for our explorations! The villa was very clean and the linens were high quality. We felt at home! We had breakfast daily and dinner twice in the restaurant. A warm shout out to the waiters at dinner that were extremely knowledgeable and willing to help us select items we would enjoy ! Thank you to Mary Ann and Dione for your help making our stay perfect!

Serene environment, loved the small boutique resort feel amidst beautiful landscaping and simple yet modern and very comfortable villas. Staff were very pleasant and accommodating. Will stay here again someday and recommend to anyone visiting. The restaurant was incredible. We ate 4 meals there and could have had more. Anyone who didn’t take advantage of this was missing out. A must go. Cocktails were awesome. Some of the best meals we’ve had, even things seemingly simple like a roast beef sandwich were creative with huge flavor. kudos to the chef and the staff.

Staying at Furnas Lake Living is like staying with Family. From the moment we arrived at 8am they accommodated us with an exceptional breakfast and early check-in. The attentive owners, friendly staff and glorious garden grounds made for an unforgettable stay. You’ll love the location which puts you in the center on the island close to all the amazing activities and areas to explore. We must mention the restaurant which blew our minds. They serve fresh garden greens, tender beef from their own herd, homemade jams and delicious condiments. We absolutely loved our stay and cannot wait to return to Dear Furnas Lake Living.
