I have visited Italy many times before and currently on my annual 3 week holiday in bardolino. i am proud to say that you have to look very hard to find bad food in Italy(except in Venice where all food is bad), but the restaurant at this hotel served me the most horrendous food - and even more expensive than at the center of Verona. The Chef has clearly no experience outside raw fish and even the grilled fish of our neighbours looked horrible! The whole meal was just wrong - and i should have known beforehand when it arrived on a blue plate - one never serves food on blue plates, accept for kids at home. Supermarket sauces for the fillet include a fish sauce which is just wrong for a piece of bad beef fillet! I recon there has been an owner change as the food used to be wonderfull here a few years ago. Rather skip this overpriced-bad food experience and go somewhere else, there are more than enough to feast on around in this area!

The hotel location is stunning however we were very disappointed with the total lack of service provided. The bedrooms are cramped and basic with very poor showers which did not provide constant water in terms of pressure or temperature in very outdated bathrooms. During a three night stay our sheets were not changed and the bins in the bedroom not emptied on a daily basis. Breakfast was very much a help yourself affair with little monitoring by staff as to when items such as bread ran out - a frequent occurrence. There was a general lack of any kind of service by the hotel staff. We were told in no uncertain terms by the very rude head waiter that we were not to enter the hotel by the main door and walk through the restaurant but should enter by a side door even though we were paying guests, being made to feel very much like second class citizens. On departure there was at least three staff in the reception area and not one of them could be bothered to either assist with our luggage or even open the door for us! Needless to say we will not be returning.

The hotel has undergone an extensive renovation and is absolutely beautiful and spotlessly clean. Breakfast is buffet style with everything you could want, sweet and savoury. We also had an amazing meal in the restaurant one night. The location is perfect, right on the lake and we had a little balcony where we could sit and watch the world go by. All staff were lovely and couldn't do enough for us. We will definitely stay there again on our next visit to Garda and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.

Lovely hotel right on the lakeside. The beds were really comfortable and the rooms cleaned every day. we were in a back room but that was o.k. There is a fridge in the room, Air Con and free Wifi. The breakfast was excellent with hot and cold food with enough choice to suit everyone. Rey who was on duty every morning was lovely and really efficient. we stayed bed and breakfast but the restaurant did lovely meals at other times, we ate in the Restaurant Three time while we were there and the choice and prices were really good. All of the staff were helpful and friendly. its right near the ferry landing if you want to go to other parts of Lake Garda. We would go back again.

A Lovely Hotel right on the edge of Lake Garda. We had a room with a balcony overlooking the lake. Amazing. The room was really comfortable and quiet. There was a fridge and small safe for keeping your valuables. Breakfast was perfect with all the details of a continental Italian selection and at lunch and in the evening the restaurant provided wonderful options without having to travel anywhere. Eating by the lake side is absolutely wonderful and makes the holiday special. The hotel staff have been truly amazing. Form the morning greeting from reception to the last ice cream served at night, everyone has been excellent and really made our stay a total pleasure. Thank You Thank You...

Just returned from our first visit to Lake Garda and are glad we chose Hotel Roma. The location speaks for itself - right on the front with fabulous views and easy access to ferries, bus station, shops, restaurants etc. The hotel is kept immaculately clean, all the staff we saw were very helpful, friendly and efficient. Ali and staff run the restaurant with a very friendly, efficient and courteous manner. The food was delicious. The restaurant was VERY popular, not only with hotel guests, so that also is a good recommendation. We arrived almost an hour before official start of breakfast one day, our fault for not checking times, and were greeted in the usual friendly helpful manner by staff. We were fortunate to meet the hotel's star guest - the beautiful Leo and his family. This really is a traditional family hotel and we felt privileged to share this for a week. Hopefully we will see everyone, and Leo, next year. Thank you Hotel Roma.

Staff for all shifts were 5/5: Friendly & helpful. Complimentary breakfast 5/5: Didn’t expect much so this was a hit! Especially with free cappuccinos! Location 4/5: In hindsight Pechiera Garda seemed a better for for us. But these guys had complimentary parking so a win. DEFINITELY RENT A CAR! Rooms: 5/5: Had a clear lake view, daily housekeeping optional, clean, & working order. We stayed on the 4th floor. 2 adults + 1 toddler
