Great for early risers, dining room starts at about 6am with cutlery noises and chairs being moved on a wooden floor for several hours. Outside sitting area used by staff/guests the rest of the day... Less parking than available rooms, have to park outside asking the street when capital is full.

My wife and I had a wonderful experience at this small boutique hotel. The room was well appointed and very clean. The staff were all amazing. The breakfast was the best we had in all our European travels, and that includes an 8 day river cruise. Short walk to all the restaurants and bars downtown and the market is right down the street. Great stay. We would return to this location in a heart beat. Thank you for you hospitality. You made our 30th anniversary trip special.

A very nice and quiet hotel only a block or two from the central Garmisch area for shopping and eating! There is really not a bar in the hotel but that’s ok since the bars are only 2 blocks away!! Out the door you can hike to the Olympic stadium and up some beautiful areas like the Partnach Gorge. Breakfast is easy and good and the staff very friendly. I couldn’t find the fitness room so if you want to work out make sure to ask for the key!! Overall a very good value.

Hotel Garni is a really nice hotel run by an incredibly warm and helpful family. The rooms were really good and would have been a good place to stay for a few days, especially in summer when sitting out on the balcony overlooking the Alps would not have gotten me a cold! It's also only a 5-6 min walk from the bahnhof(lesser so from the zugspitze/BZB bahnhof) and the location was an ideal combination of prime yet secluded. Would definitely recommend this hotel for a getaway!

Room was big and nice. I had all I need to feel comfortable. I had welcome fruit basket. Nice surprice. Breakfast had good selection and was delicious. Staff friendly and helpful. The hotel is located in very good location. Close to city center and public transport. Everything within easy reach.

Nice stay, spacious room, clean, quiet, nice people, a block or 2 from the train & Zugspitz lift. I would not hesitate to stay here again. Recommend over any other place we have stayed in the Garmish area.

I was staying at this hotel in June. Our room had a wonderful mountain view. It was very clean. The breakfast was really tasty and the hosts were very welcoming. All of this made our stay very enjoyable. We will be back soon.

It is with great sadness that we have to report the worst treatment we have ever had in our 20 years of traveling, the last 10 as ******* VIP Gold members. We booked a day earlier at Hotel Garni Brunnthaler than intended and attempted for 24 hours beforehand to remedy this with the extremely helpful assistance of the ******* agents. We finally got through to reception (which inexplicably closed the night before) and was told that all is order and that they will make the adjustment when we come through. We drove for 3 hours straight across Bavaria to be told on arrival that they have changed their minds. Not only did we now forfeit the first night we now owed them even more if we wanted to stay. We expressed our dismay at this and reception started shouting at us in German knowing full well that we are English speaking. The shouting got so bad we had to walk away until the husband of the receptionist came and mansplained to us that it was our ‘tough luck’. We decided to overnight (we had already paid). Still traumatized and very upset we left first thing the next morning. What a terrible experience!
